| 1 | Materials Experiment on Tiangong-2 Space Laboratory显示文摘During the China's Tiangong-2(TG-2) flight mission, the experiments of 18 kinds of material samples were conducted in space by using a Multiple Materials Processing Furnace(MMPF) mounted in the orbital module of the TG-2 space laboratory. After the experiments of 12 kinds of samples of the first and second batches were completed successfully, astronauts packed and brought them back to the ground by ShenzhouII spacecraft. By studying processing and formation on semiconductor and optoelectronics materials, metal alloys and metastable materials, functional single-crystal, micro-and nano-composite materials encapsulated in sample ampoules both in space and on Earth, we expect to explore some physical and chemical processes and mechanism of the materials formation that are normally obscured and therefore are difficult to study quantitatively on the ground due to the gravity-induced convection, to obtain the processing and synthesis technology for preparing high quality materials, and lead to the improvement and development of materials processing techniques on Earth, and also develop the experiment device and comprehensive ability for materials experiment in microgravity environment. | 2 | Sequential infection with H1N1 and SARS-CoV-2 aggravated COVID-19 pathogenesis in a mammalian model, and covaccination as an effective method of prevention of COVID-19 and influenza显示文摘Influenza A virus may circulate simultaneously with the SARS-CoV-2 virus,leading to more serious respiratory diseases during this winter.However,the influence of these viruses on disease outcome when both influenza A and SARS-CoV-2 are present in the host remains unclear.Using a mammalian model,sequential infection was performed in ferrets and in K18-MCE2 mice,with SARS-CoV-2 infection following H1N1.We found that co-infection with H1N1 and SARS-CoV-2 extended the duration of clinical manifestation of COVID-19,and enhanced pulmonary damage,but reduced viral shedding of throat swabs and viral loads in the lungs of ferrets.Moreover,mortality was increased in sequentially infected mice compared with single-infection mice.Compared with singlevaccine inoculation,co-inoculation of PiCoVacc(a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine)and the flu vaccine showed no significant differences in neutralizing antibody titers or virus-specific immune responses.Combined immunization effectively protected K18-MCE2 mice against both H1N1 and SARS-CoV-2 infection.Our findings indicated the development of systematic models of co-infection of H1N1 and SARS-CoV-2,which together notably enhanced pneumonia in ferrets and mice,as well as demonstrated that simultaneous vaccination against HINT and SARS-CoV-2 may be an effective prevention strategy for the coming winter. | Linlin Bao Wei Deng Feifei Qi Qi Lv Zhiqi Song Jiangning Liu Hong Gao Qiang Wei Pin Yu Yanfeng Xu Yajin Qu Fengdi Li Jing Xue Shuran Gong Mingya Liu Guanpeng Wang Shunyi Wang Binbin Zhao Bin Cong Chuan Qin | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,6: | 4 |

| 7 | New Gene Variants Associated with the Risk of Chronic HBV Infection显示文摘Some patients with chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection failed to clear HBV,even persistently continue to produce antibodies to HBV.Here we performed a two stage genome wide association study in a cohort of Chinese patients designed to discover single nucleotide variants that associate with HBV infection and clearance of HBV.The first stage involved genome wide exome sequencing of 101 cases(HBsAg plus anti-HBs positive)compared with 102 control patients(antiHBs positive,HBsAg negative).Over 80%of individual sequences displayed 209 sequence coverage.Adapters,uncertain bases[10%or low-quality base calls([50%)were filtered and compared to the human reference genome hg19.In the second stage,579 chronic HBV infected cases and 439 HBV clearance controls were sequenced with selected genes from the first stage.Although there were no significant associated gene variants in the first stage,two significant gene associations were discovered when the two stages were assessed in a combined analysis.One association showed rs506121-“T”allele[within the dedicator of cytokinesis 8(DOCK8)gene]was higher in chronic HBV infection group than that in clearance group(P=0.002,OR=0.77,95%CI[0.65,0.91]).The second association involved rs2071676—A allele within the Carbonic anhydrase(CA9)gene that was significantly elevated in chronic HBV infection group compared to the clearance group(P=0.0003,OR=1.35,95%CI[1.15,1.58]).Upon replication these gene associations would suggest the influence of DOCK8 and CA9 as potential risk genetic factors in the persistence of HBV infection. | Mengjie Fan Jing Wang Sa Wang Tengyan Li Hong Pan Hankui Liu Huifang Xu Daria V.Zhernakova Stephen J.O’Brien Zhenru Feng Le Chang Erhei Dai Jianhua Lu Hongli Xi Yanyan Yu Jianguo Zhang Binbin Wang Zheng Zeng | 2020 | Virologica Sinica2020,35,4: | 1 |

| 10 | Characterization of human IgM and IgG repertoires in individuals with chronic HIV-1 infection显示文摘Advancements in high-throughput sequencing(HTS)of antibody repertoires(Ig-Seq)have unprecedentedly improved our ability to characterize the antibody repertoires on a large scale.However,currently,only a few studies explored the influence of chronic HIV-1 infection on human antibody repertoires and many of them reached contradictory conclusions,possibly limited by inadequate sequencing depth and throughput.To better understand how HIV-1 infection would impact humoral immune system,in this study,we systematically analyzed the differences between the IgM(HIV-IgM)and IgG(HIV-IgG)heavy chain repertoires of HIV-1 infected patients,as well as between antibody repertoires of HIV-1 patients and healthy donors(HH).Notably,the public unique clones accounted for only a negligible proportion between the HIV-IgM and HIV-IgG repertoires libraries,and the diversity of unique clones in HIV-IgG remarkably reduced.In aspect of somatic mutation rates of CDR1 and CDR2,the HIV-IgG repertoire was higher than HIV-IgM.Besides,the average length of CDR3 region in HIV-IgM was significant longer than that in the HH repertoire,presumably caused by the great number of novel VDJ rearrangement patterns,especially a massive use of IGHJ6.Moreover,some of the B cell clonotypes had numerous clones,and somatic variants were detected within the clonotype lineage in HIV-IgG,indicating HIV-1 neutralizing activities.The in-depth characterization of HIV-IgG and HIV-IgM repertoires enriches our knowledge in the profound effect of HIV-1 infection on human antibody repertoires and may have practical value for the discovery of therapeutic antibodies. | Xiaolong Tian Binbin Hong Xiaoyi Zhu Desheng Kong Yumei Wen Yanling Wu Liying Ma Tianlei Ying | 2022 | Virologica Sinica2022,37,3: | 0 |

| 12 | Optical waveguide in curved and welded perovskite nanowires显示文摘Single-crystalline lead halide perovskite nanowires are emerging as promising one-dimensional blocks for nanoscience and nanotechnology,and extensive studies of nano-lasers and nano-photodetectors have been reported.However,as perfect confined structures,their optical waveguide performances have not been widely paid attention to up to now.Here,we report on the such issue on single-crystalline CsPbBr3nanowires and quantify it by near-field optical response mappings.The waveguide is verified as total internal reflection mode at the visible band(532 nm),and its far-field end-facet coupling efficiency of 89.6%and propagation loss as low as 5.9 dB/mm are measured from the nanowire with cross-sectional geometry of~600 nm×300 nm.No evident bending loss exists in naturally curved nanowires,while it usually emerges in artificial-bended ones due to the wrinkled surfaces.Naturally welded nanowire networks show significant advantages in integrated waveguides over the artificial assembled ones,due to the coupled photons at the space-confined end-facet segments.Roughened surface reasoned by lattice degradation is detrimental to propagation loss,but it provides leaked channels for waveguide coupling on nanowire surface.This work studies the optical waveguide performance of perovskite nanowires with different geometries and goes a step further for integrated nanophotonics. | ZHANG ZhenYu ZHANG YuPeng HONG BinBin WANG GuoPing | 2023 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,5: | 0 |

| 14 | Five-channel frequency-division multiplexing using low-loss epsilon-near-zero metamaterial waveguide显示文摘The rapidly growing global data usage has demanded more efficient ways to utilize the scarce electromagnetic spectrum resource. Recent research has focused on the development of efficient multiplexing techniques in the millimeter-wave band(1-10 mm, or 30-300 GHz) due to the promise of large available bandwidth for future wireless networks. Frequency-division multiplexing is still one of the most commonly-used techniques to maximize the transmission capacity of a wireless network.Based on the frequency-selective tunnelling effect of the low-loss epsilon-near-zero metamaterial waveguide, we numerically and experimentally demonstrate five-channel frequency-division multiplexing and demultiplexing in the millimeter-wave range.We show that this device architecture offers great flexibility to manipulate the filter Q-factors and the transmission spectra of different channels, by changing of the epsilon-near-zero metamaterial waveguide topology and by adding a standard waveguide between two epsilon-near-zero channels. | 15 | Dimensional crossover tuned by pressure in layered magnetic NiPS_(3)显示文摘The physical properties of most 2D materials are highly dependent on the nature of their interlayer interaction.In-depth studies of the interlayer interaction are beneficial to the understanding of the physical properties of 2D materials and permit the development of related devices.Layered magnetic NiPS_(3)has unique magnetic and electronic properties.The electronic band structure and corresponding magnetic state of NiPS_(3)are expected to be sensitive to the interlayer interaction,which can be tuned by external pressure.Here,we report an insulator-metal transition accompanied by the collapse of magnetic order during the 2D-3D structural crossover induced by hydrostatic pressure.A two-stage phase transition from a monoclinic(C2/m)to a trigonal(P31m)lattice is identified via ab initio simulations and confirmed via high-pressure X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering;this transition corresponds to a layer-by-layer slip mechanism along the a-axis.Temperature-dependent resistance measurements and room temperature infrared spectroscopy under different pressures demonstrate that the insulator-metal transition and the collapse of the magnetic order occur at~20 GPa,which is confirmed by low-temperature Raman scattering measurements and theoretical calculations.These results establish a strong correlation between the structural change,electric transport,and magnetic phase transition and expand our understanding of layered magnetic materials.Moreover,the structural transition caused by the interlayer displacement has significance for designing similar devices at ambient pressure. | Xiaoli Ma Yimeng Wang Yunyu Yin Binbin Yue Jianhong Dai Jinguang Cheng Jianting Ji Feng Jin Fang Hong Jian-Tao Wang Qingming Zhang Xiaohui Yu | 2021 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,9: | 0 |
| 16 | Oxidative stress responses to cadmium in the seedlings of a commercial seaweed Sargassum fusiforme显示文摘Cadmium(Cd)is a common heavy metal pollutant in the aquatic environment,generally toxic to plant growth and leading to growth inhibition and biomass reduction.To study the oxidation resistance in Sargassum fusiforme seedlings in response to inorganic Cd stress,we cultured the seedlings under two different Cd levels:natural seawater and high Cd stress.High Cd stress significantly inhibited the seedlings growth,and darkened the thalli color.Additionally,the pigment contents,growth rate,peroxidase(POD)activity,dehydroascorbic acid(DHA)content,and glutathione reductase(GR)activity in S.fusiforme were significantly reduced by high Cd treatment.Contrarily,the Cd accumulation,Cd2+absorption rate,dark respiration/net photosynthetic rate(Rd/Pn),ascorbic acid(Vc)content,soluble protein(SP)content,glutathione(GSH),and the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)of S.fusiforme under Cd treatment significantly increased compared to the control group.The decrease of malondialdehyde(MDA)was not significant.Although S.fusiforme seedlings increased the antioxidant activities of POD,SOD,Vc,and the AsA-GSH cycle to disseminate H2O2 and maintain healthy metabolism,high Cd stress caused Cd accumulation in the stem and leaves of S.fusiforme seedlings.The excessive Cd significantly restricted photosynthesis and reduced photosynthetic pigments in the seedlings,resulting in growth inhibition and deep morphological color,especially of the stems.High levels of Cd in seawater had toxic effects on commercial S.fusiforme seedlings,and risked this edible seaweed for human food. | Tiantian Zhang Minheng Hong Mingjiang Wu Binbin Chen Zengling Ma | 2020 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2020,39,10: | 0 |
