2SIDT1-dependent absorption in the stomach mediates host uptake of dietary and orally administered microRNAs显示文摘Dietary microRNAs have been shown to be absorbed by mammals and regulate host gene expression,but the absorption mechanism remains unknown.Here,we show that SIDT1 expressed on gastric pit cells in the stomach is required for the absorption of dietary microRNAs.SIDT1-deficient mice show reduced basal levels and impaired dynamic absorption of dietary microRNAs.Notably,we identified the stomach as the primary site for dietary microRNA absorption,which is dramatically attenuated in the stomachs of SIDT1-deficient mice.Mechanistic analyses revealed that the uptake of exogenous microRNAs by gastric pit cells is SIDT1 and low-pH dependent.Furthermore,oral administration of plant-derived miR2911 retards liver fibrosis,and this protective effect was abolished in SIDT1-deficient mice.Our findings reveal a major mechanism underlying the absorption of dietary microRNAs,uncover an unexpected role of the stomach and shed light on developing small RNA therapeutics by oral delivery.Qun Chen Fan Zhang Lei Dong Huimin Wu Jie Xu Hanqin Li Jin Wang Zhen Zhou Chunyan Liu Yanbo Wang Yuyan Liu Liangsheng Lu Chen Wang Minghui Liu Xi Chen Cheng Wang Chunni Zhang Dangsheng Li Ke Zen Fangyu Wang Qipeng Zhang Chen-Yu Zhang 2021Cell Research2021,31,3:10
3Characteristics of air pollution by polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans in the typical industrial areas of Tangshan City,China显示文摘The ambient air in vicinity of different industrial sources for PCDD/PCDFs was sampled by TSP/PM 10 active samplers and passive PUF disk samplers in Tangshan City,a metropolis containing clusters of various industrial plants.The ΣTEQ concentrations of ΣPCDD/ΣPCDFs ranged from 44.2 to 394.1 fg I-TEQ/m 3 with an average of 169.9 fg I-TEQ/m 3.2,3,4,7,8-PeCDF was the dominant contributor to TEQ,contributing 41% (12% to 55%),while 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-HpCDF,OCDD and OCDF were the major congeners for the total concentrations.The ratios of PCDF/PCDD reached 2.54 on average,suggesting that de novo synthesis in thermal processes played an important role to the airborne pollution of PCDD/PCDFs.The similarities congener profiles indicated that TSP and PM 10 active sampling methods are comparable for the determination of the PCDD/PCDFs in ambient air,and the ratios of concentrations determined by the two methods suggested that the PCDD/PCDFs tended to stay in fine particles.It was found that 2,3,7,8-TCDF and OCDD were the dominating congeners in the passive PUF disks samples.Through principal components analysis,the coke industry was suggested to be a relatively high potential emission source for PCDD/PCDFs in the ambient air of Tangshan,which was possibly formed by de novo synthesis mechanism.In this study,the atmospheric impacts to the environment from different industrial sources could be ranked as follows (from high to low):coking,iron sintering,steel making,power generation and chlorinate alkali chemical production industries.Zhiyuan Ren Bing Zhang Pu Lu Cheng Li Lirong Gao Minghui Zheng 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,2:8
4Cycle stability of lithium/garnet/lithium cells with different intermediate layers显示文摘The garnet-type electrolytes such as Ta-doped Li_7La_3Zr_2O_(12)(LLZTO) have been viewed as the promising electrolytes for solid-state lithium batteries, but it exhibits problem of high interfacial resistance(1960 Ω·cm^2) and short circuit when being cycled in Li/LLZTO/Li cells at the current density above 0.5 mA·cm^(-2). Introduction of intermediate layers in between lithium and LLZTO is helpful for decreasing the interfacial resistance and suppressing the growth of lithium dendrites. In this work, three kinds of intermediate layers of Au, Nb and Si with the thickness of 100 nm were prepared. Although the interfacial resistance with the Au layer decreases from 1960 to 32 Ω·cm^2, the cells can only cycle for 0.67 h at 0.5 mA·cm^(-2), related to the Au peeled off from the LLZTO. The Nb layers lead to the initial interfacial resistance of 14 Ω·cm^2, while showing extension of cycle time to 50 h with the increase in interfacial resistance due to the formation of the resistive Li–Nb–O phase. 5Baicalein suppresses vasculogenic mimicry through inhibiting RhoA/ROCK expression in lung cancer A549 cell line显示文摘Vasculogenic mimicry(VM)refers to a new tubular network of the blood supply system with abundant extracellular matrix.VM is similar to capillaries but does not involve endothelial cells.As a traditional herbal medicine commonly used in China,baicalein possesses anti-inflammatory and lipoxygenase activities.However,the effects of baicalein on the process of VM formation in nonsmall cell lung cancer(NSCLC)and the underlying mechanisms have remained poorly understood.In this study,baicalein was found to inhibit the viability and motility of A549 cells and induced the breakage of the cytoskeletal actin filament network.In addition,baicalein significantly decreased the formation of VM and downregulated the expressions of VM-associated factors,such as VEcadherin,EphA2,MMP14,MMP2,MIVIP9,PI3K and LAMC2,similar to the effects of ROCK inhibitors.In deed,baicalei n inhibited RhoA/ROCK expression in vitro and in vivo,suggesting the underlying mechanisms of reduced VM formation.Collectively,baicalein suppressed the formation of VM in NSCLC by targeting the RhoA/ROCK signaling pathway,indicating that baicalein might serve as an emerging drug for NSCLC.Zhe Zhang Li Nong Menglei Chen Xiaoli Gu Weiwei Zhao Minghui Liu Wenwu Cheng 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,9:5

7Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cell Seeding on Biofunctionalized Calcium Phosphate Cements显示文摘Induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)have great potential due to their proliferation and differentiation capability.The objectives of this study were to generate iPSC-derived mesenchymal stem cells(iPSC-MSCs),and investigate iPSC-MSC proliferation and osteogenic differentiation on calcium phosphate cement(CPC)containing biofunctional agents for the first time.Human iPSCs were derived from marrow CD34+cells which were reprogrammed by a single episomal vector.iPSCs were cultured to form embryoid bodies(EBs),and MSCs migrated out of EBs.Five biofunctional agents were incorporated into CPC:RGD(Arg-Gly-Asp)peptides,fibronectin(Fn),fibronectin-like engineered polymer protein(FEPP),extracellular matrix Geltrex,and platelet concentrate.iPSC-MSCs were seeded on five biofunctionalized CPCs:CPC-RGD,CPC-Fn,CPC-FEPP,CPC-Geltrex,and CPC-Platelets.iPSC-MSCs on biofunctional CPCs had enhanced proliferation,actin fiber expression,osteogenic differentiation and mineralization,compared to control.Cell proliferation was greatly increased on biofunctional CPCs.iPSC-MSCs underwent osteogenic differentiation with increased alkaline phosphatase,Runx2 and collagen-I expressions.Mineral synthesis by iPSC-MSCs on CPC-Platelets was 3-fold that of CPC control.In conclusion,iPSCs showed high potential for bone engineering.iPSC-MSCs on biofunctionalized CPCs had cell proliferation and bone mineralization that were much better than traditional CPC.iPSC-MSC-CPC constructs are promising to promote bone regeneration in craniofacial/orthopedic repairs.WahWah TheinHan Jun Liu Minghui Tang Wenchuan Chen Linzhao Cheng Hockin H.K.Xu 2013Bone Research2013,1,4:3

9Four-protein model for predicting prognostic risk of lung cancer显示文摘Patients with lung cancer at the same stage may have markedly different overall outcome and a lack of specific biomarker to predict lung cancer outcome.Heat-shock protein 90β(HSP90β)is overexpressed in various tumor cells.In this study,the ELISA results of HSP90βcombined with CEA,CA125,and CYFRA21-1 were used to construct a recursive partitioning decision tree model to establish a four-protein diagnostic model and predict the survival of patients with lung cancer.Survival analysis showed that the recursive partitioning decision tree could distinguish the prognosis between high-and low-risk groups.Results suggested that the joint detection of HSP90β,CEA,CA125,and CYFRA21-1 in the peripheral blood of patients with lung cancer is plausible for early diagnosis and prognosis prediction of lung cancer.Xiang Wang Minghui Wang Lin Feng Jie Song Xin Dong Ting Xiao Shujun Cheng 2022Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,4:2
10Mesoporous Ternary Nitrides of Earth?Abundant Metals as Oxygen Evolution Electrocatalyst显示文摘As sustainable energy becomes a major concern for modern society,renewable and clean energy systems need highly active,stable,and low-cost catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Mesoporous materials offer an attractive route for generating efficient electrocatalysts with high mass transport capabilities.Herein,we report an efficient hard templating pathway to design and synthesize three-dimensional(3-D)mesoporous ternary nickel iron nitride(Ni3FeN).The as-synthesized electrocatalyst shows good OER performance in an alkaline solution with low overpotential(259 mV)and a small Tafel slope(54 mV dec?1),giving superior performance to IrO2 and RuO2 catalysts.The highly active contact area,the hierarchical porosity,and the synergistic effect of bimetal atoms contributed to the improved electrocatalytic performance toward OER.In a practical rechargeable Zn–air battery,mesoporous Ni3FeN is also shown to deliver a lower charging voltage and longer lifetime than RuO2.This work opens up a new promising approach to synthesize active OER electrocatalysts for energy-related devices.Ali Saad Hangjia Shen Zhixing Cheng Ramis Arbi Beibei Guo Lok Shu Hui Kunyu Liang Siqi Liu John Paul Attfield Ayse Turak Jiacheng Wang Minghui Yang 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,6:2
11Distributed Consensus for Blockchains in Internet-of-Things Networks显示文摘In recent years,due to the wide implementation of mobile agents,the Internet-of-Things(IoT) networks have been applied in several real-life scenarios,servicing applications in the areas of public safety,proximity-based services,and fog computing.Meanwhile,when more complex tasks are processed in IoT networks,demands on identity authentication,certifiable traceability,and privacy protection for services in IoT networks increase.Building a blockchain system in IoT networks can greatly satisfy such demands.However,the blockchain building in IoT brings about new challenges compared with that in the traditional full-blown Internet with reliable transmissions,especially in terms of achieving consensus on each block in complex wireless environments,which directly motivates our work.In this study,we fully considered the challenges of achieving a consensus in a blockchain system in IoT networks,including the negative impacts caused by contention and interference in wireless channel,and the lack of reliable transmissions and prior network organizations.By proposing a distributed consensus algorithm for blockchains on multi-hop IoT networks,we showed that it is possible to directly reach a consensus for blockchains in IoT networks,without relying on any additional network layers or protocols to provide reliable and ordered communications.In our theoretical analysis,we showed that our consensus algorithm is asymptotically optimal on time complexity and is energy saving.The extensive simulation results also validate our conclusions in the theoretical analysis.Li Yang Yifei Zou Minghui Xu Yicheng Xu Dongxiao Yu Xiuzhen Cheng 2022Tsinghua Science and Technology2022,27,5:2

13A Variational Binary Level Set Method for Structural Topology Optimization显示文摘This paper proposes a variational binary level set method for shape and topology optimization of structural.First,a topology optimization problem is presented based on the level set method and an algorithm based on binary level set method is proposed to solve such problem.Considering the difficulties of coordination between the various parameters and efficient implementation of the proposed method,we present a fast algorithm by reducing several parameters to only one parameter,which would substantially reduce the complexity of computation and make it easily and quickly to get the optimal solution.The algorithm we constructed does not need to re-initialize and can produce many new holes automatically.Furthermore,the fast algorithm allows us to avoid the update of Lagrange multiplier and easily deal with constraints,such as piecewise constant,volume and length of the interfaces.Finally,we show several optimum design examples to confirm the validity and efficiency of our method.Xiaoxia Dai Peipei Tang Xiaoliang Cheng Minghui Wu 2013Communications in Computational Physics2013,13,5:1

18Catholyte engineering to release the capacity of iodide for high-energy-density iodine-based redox flow batteries显示文摘Due to the high solubility,high reversibility,and low cost of iodide,iodine-based redox flow batteries(RFBs)are considered to have great potential for upscaling energy storage.However,their further development has been limited by the low capacity of I−as one-third of the I−is used to form I3−(I2I−)during the charging process.Herein,we have demonstrated that the pseudohalide ion,thiocyanate(SCN−),is a promising complexing agent for catholyte of iodinebased RFBs to free up the I−by forming iodine-thiocyanate ions([I2SCN]−)instead of I3−,unlocking the capacity of iodide.Applying this strategy,we have demonstrated iodine-based RFBs with full utilization of iodide to achieve high capacity and high energy density.Both the zinc/iodine RFB and polysulfide/iodine RFB with SCN−complex agent achieve their theoretical capacity of around 160 A h Lposolyte^(−1)(6.0MI−in catholyte).Therefore,the zinc/iodine RFB delivers a high energy density of 221.34Wh Lposolyte^(−1),and the polysulfide/iodine RFB achieves a highenergy density of 165.62Wh Lposolyte^(−1).It is believed that this effective catholyte engineering can be further generalized to other iodine-based RFBs,offering new opportunities to unlock the capacity of iodide and achieve high energy density for energy storage.Bo Lu Minghui Yang Mei Ding Su Yan Weizhe Xiang Yuanhang Cheng Hu Fu Zhizhao Xu Chuankun Jia 2023SusMat2023,3,4:1
