1Separation process of butanol-butyl acetate-methyl isobutyl ketone system by the analysis to residual curve and the double effect pressure-swing distillation显示文摘The separation of ternary mixture of butanol, butyl acetate, and methyl isobutyl ketone(MIBK) was initially analyzed by the residual curve. In this process, MIBK was chosen as the azeotropic agent during the first step of separation. The optimum mass ratio of extra MIBK was 1.6 in the modified feed stream according to the residual curve. Thus on this condition the top product was butanol-MIBK azeotrope while the bottom product was butyl acetate in the preliminary separation of the mixture. Then the butanol and MIBK azeotrope was separated by the double effect pressureswing distillation with the low pressure column performing at 30 kPa and the atmospheric pressure column at 101 kPa. The optimal operating conditions were then obtained by using Aspen Plus to simulate and optimize the process. The results showed that the mass purities of butanol, butyl acetate, and MIBK were all more than 99% and reached the design requirements. 2Polymorphism of D-mannitol:Crystal structure and the crystal growth mechanism显示文摘The polymorphism of D-Mannitol(mannitol) is reviewed in this paper. It was found that the structure of the stable form is consistent in most literatures, but different authors have given different information about the two metastable forms. Therefore the commonly used nomenclature of mannitol was summarized based on the crystal unit cell parameters with the help of X-ray powder diffraction. Moreover, the crystal growth mechanism of mannitol polymorphs was summarized. Considering the lack of kinetic data for the metastable form especially, a reported method was attempted to apply to δ mannitol in an aqueous cooling crystallization process based on the induction time previously measured, and it was identified that the growth of the δ form follows the two-dimensional(2D) nucleationmediated mechanism. 6Review on status of groundwater database and application prospect in deep-time digital earth plan显示文摘Groundwater is an important water resource.The total amount of active groundwater in a hydrological cycle is about 3.5 times that of the total amount of surface water.The information in the deep groundwater records the material exchange and dynamics in the earth’s evolution,which is an important aspect of the Deep-Time Digital Earth(DDE)plan.In recent years,scientists have discussed the distribution of transboundary aquifers and the environmental significance of groundwater resources through groundwater databases established by international organizations,such as the Global Groundwater Information System and the chronicles consortium,and national institutes,such as national geological surveys.The application of the groundwater database in the DDE plan,however,has been limited by the management,interactivity,and monitoring method of the groundwater data.The ability to further integrate data that are private and scattered across research institutions and individuals,while establishing an open,unified,and shared groundwater data platform,is essential to enhance our understanding of groundwater,ranging from shallow to deep water,which is a goal of the DDE plan.In this study,we introduced the current situation of groundwater database operations in domestic and international research and provided frontier research with groundwater big data.Considering the related objectives of the DDE plan and the limitations of existing groundwater databases,we proposed an improvement plan and new prospects for applying groundwater databases in the research of the deep earth.Wenkai Qiu Teng Ma Yanxin Wang Jianmei Cheng Chunli Su Junxia Li 2022Geoscience Frontiers2022,13,4:1

8Heat Transfer Investigation and Modeling of Heat Integrated Distillation Column显示文摘The high degree of reversibility of heat integrated distillation column(HIDiC) has been thermodynamically interpreted by the entropy method. In this paper, a heat transfer model and a more universal method were proposed, through which the overall heat transfer coefficient at different height of column under different operating conditions could be obtained before the experiment. Then the separation of a binary ethanol-water system was carried out experimentally as a case study to verify the heat transfer model and the aforementioned calculation method. The close results between the calculation, the simulation, and the experiments suggested that the proposed model and the calculation method in this paper were accurate and applicable. 12Monitoring and Modeling the Effects of Groundwater Flow on Arsenic Transport in Datong Basin显示文摘Although arsenic-contaminated groundwater in the Datong Basin has been studied for more than 10 years, little has been known about the complex patterns of solute transport in the aquifer systems. Field monitoring and transient 3D unsaturated groundwater flow modeling studies were carried out on the riparian zone of the Sanggan River at the Datong Basin, northern China, to better understand the effects of groundwater flow on As mobilization and transport. The results indicate that irrigation is the primary factor in determining the groundwater flow paths. Irrigation can not only increase groundwater level and reduce horizontal groundwater velocity and thereby accelerate vertical and horizontal groundwater exchange among sand, silt and clay formations, but also change the HSconcentration, redox conditions of the shallow groundwater. Results of net groundwater flux estimation suggest that vertical infiltration is likely the primary control of As transport in the vadose zone, while horizontal water exchange is dominant in controlling As migration within the sand aquifers. Recharge water, including irrigation return water and flushed saltwater, travels downward from the ground surface to the aquifer and then nearly horizontally across the sand aquifer. The maximum value of As enriched in the riparian zone is roughly estimated to be 1 706.2 mg·d-1 for a horizontal water exchange of 8.98 m3·d-1 close to the river and an As concentration of 190 μg·L-1.Qian Yu Yanxin Wang Rui Ma Chunli Su Ya Wu Junxia Li 2014Journal of Earth Science2014,25,2:1

16Dynamic evolution of adhesion force between protein films studied by atomic force microscope显示文摘The approaching of two hydrophobic surfaces in water will lead to the combination of air bubbles adsorbed on the surfaces, thus additional long_range attraction is induced due to the bridging capillary force. Theoretical analysis shows that the process is a first_order phase transition, while no direct experiment supports the predication. The interaction between protein modified tip of atomic force microscope and protein film on mica was studied. 17Arsenic Removal from Groundwater Using Iron Pyrite:Influence Factors and Removal Mechanism显示文摘Iron pyrite has been reported as a kind of potential material for arsenic(As)removal from the groundwater because it exhibits a strong attraction in groundwater for both arsenite and arsenate species.In this study,batch adsorption experiments were carried out to determine the optimum conditions for As adsorption by the iron pyrite adsorbent,including the initial concentration,adsorbent dosage ratio,pH,temperature and stirring rate.Precisely characterization methods were employed to identify the mechanism of As removal.Maximum removal efficiency for As(Ⅲ)was observed 93%at pH=7,and for As(Ⅴ)was 95%observed at pH=5.Langmuir model resulted in the maximum adsorption capacity(q_(m))for As(Ⅲ)and As(Ⅴ)were 571.7 and 671.1μg/g,respectively,as well as the experiments were found to be favorable as separation factor R_(L)<1.The value of“n”2.68 and 2.47 for As(Ⅲ)and As(Ⅴ)obtained by Freundlich model(n>1)indicates favorable adsorption.The pseudo-first and second-order kinetic models also fitted well.The addition of oxalate on the adsorbent surface plays an important role for the recycling of Fe(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅲ)to minimize the arsenic concentration.Specific surface area,ion exchange mechanism and structure of adsorbent confirmed that addition of oxalate could enhance the surface area of adsorbent.Muhammad Yousuf Jat Baloch Chunli Su Shakeel Ahmed Talpur Javed Iqbal Kulvinder Bajwa 2023Journal of Earth Science2023,34,3:0
18Synergistic precipitant powered self-assembly of papain for cross-linked enzyme crystals preparation显示文摘In this study,we prepared cross-linked enzyme crystals(CLECs)of papain to further broaden the application of the enzyme with high activity in extreme environments.Initially,papain crystals were successfully obtained based on the micro-batch,batch,and expanded batch crystallization experiments.Specifically,ammonium sulfate and polyethylene glycol 6000(PEG6000)were synergistically used as the precipitants,while L-cysteine was applied to enhance the activity of papain.Furthermore,the interaction between L-cysteine and papain was modeled by molecular docking technique.It was found that L-cysteine could form a hydrogen bond with aspartic acid residue(Asp)at site 158,and the electrostatic attraction with lysine residue(Lys)at site 156 was also quite obvious.Then the enzyme crystals were cross-linked by glutaraldehyde at optimized conditions.The papain CLECs were identified by various methods,and it was found that the thermal stability and enzymatic activity both increased compared to the raw enzyme.More importantly,it could be applied at more rigorous conditions,for example,pH of 4.Qi Hao Pan Guo Honghai Wang Min Su Chunli Li Yuqi Hu Weiyi Su 2024Particuology2024,85,2:0
19Mechanical Properties of Self-Compacting Rubberized Concrete with Different Rubber Types under Triaxial Compression显示文摘Different rubber aggregates lead to changes in the effect of stress conditions on the mechanical behavior of concrete,and studies on the triaxial properties of self-compacting rubber concrete(SCRC)are rare.In this study,35 cylindrical specimens taking lateral stress and rubber type as variables were prepared to study the fresh properties and mechanical behaviors of SCRC under triaxial compression,where the rubber contains two types,i.e.,380μm rubber powder and 1–4 mm rubber particles,and four contents,i.e.,10%,20%and 30%.The test results demonstrated that SCRC exhibited a typical oblique shear failure mode under triaxial compression and had a more moderate descending branch compared with self-compacting concrete(SCC).The presence of lateral stress can significantly improve the compression properties,including initial elastic modulus,peak stress and peak strain,with an improvement range of 3%–73%for peak stress.While rubber aggregates mainly targeted the deformation abilities and toughness for improvement,and the peak strain improvement ranges were 0.1–3.1 times and 0.1–1.0 times for SCRC containing rubber powder and SCRC containing rubber particles,respectively,relative to SCC.At a high lateral stress of at least 12 MPa,the loss of strength due to the addition of rubber can be controlled within 10%,in which case the content of rubber powder and rubber particles was recommended to be at most 20%and 30%,respectively.Based on the Mohr-Coulomb theory,the failure criteria of SCRC with different rubber types were established.For analysis and design purposes,an empirical model was proposed to predict the stressstrain behavior under triaxial compression,considering the influence of different rubber content and lateral stress.The results obtained in this study can provide a valuable reference for the design and application of self-compacting rubberized concrete in practical projects,especially those involving three-way compression states and requiring high-quality deformation and energy dissipation.Chunli Meng Weishu Fu Jianzeng Shen Yisheng Su Chunying Ye 2023Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,2:0
