| 2 | Crack location identification of rotating rotor systems using operating deflection shape data显示文摘Crack location identification, as one key destination of structural health monitoring, is still a challenge for operating rotor systems. The operating deflection shape (ODS), which represents a visual description of the structural vibration patterns under operating conditions, has been gaining importance for structure damage detection in recent years. The ODS carries damage information of a structure, however, it is also difficult to detect weak cracks of rotor directly. The approximate waveform capacity dimension (AWCD) method was successfully applied to damage detection of plates and beam-like structures. In this paper,a strategic approach that combines ODS and weighted AWCD is proposed for crack location identification of the rotating rotor.To eliminate the false peaks of AWCD and obtain desirable results, a weight factor and ODS curvature data are introduced to the expression of the weighted AWCD. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by numerical simulation and experimental investigation in a cracked rotor system. The results indicate that the proposed approach not only provides good identifying performance for incipient rotor cracks, but also effectively eliminates the fault peaks introduced by the inflexion locations of ODSs. | 4 | Corrosion Behavior and Protection Efficiency of 2024Al and SiC_p/2024Al Metal Matrix Composite显示文摘The corrosion resistance of 2024 Al and SiC particle reinforced 2024 Al metal matrix composite (SiCp/2024Al MMC)in 3.5% NaCl solution was investigated with electrochemical method and immersion test, and the corrosion protection of sulfuric acid anodized coatings on both materials was evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results showed that the SiCp/2024Al MMC is more susceptible to corrosion than its matrix alloy in 3.5% NaCl.For 2024Al, the anodized coating provides excellent corrosion resistance to 3.5% NaCl. | 8 | Fat deposition deficiency is critical for the high mortality of pre-weanling newborn piglets显示文摘Background: The high mortality of pre-weanling piglets is a dominant challenge which severely restricts the development of pig industry. A number of factors including nutrients imbalance and temperature variation during postnatal period of piglets have been reported to closely associated with the high mortality of postnatal piglets.This study aims to find out the relationship between fat deposition and survival of newborn piglets.Results: There were no differences in organ coefficient and bone density between the surviving and dead piglets(P > 0.05). The body weight and the fat deposition in the dead piglets were lower than the live individuals(P < 0.05).Consistently, the average sizes of white adipocytes in back and abdominal adipose tissues of dead piglets were smaller than the survivals(P < 0.05). The protein expression levels of adipocyte differentiation markers PPARγ and C/EBPα in the back and abdominal adipose tissues were lower in dead piglets compared to live piglets. The mRNA expressions of thermogenic markers PGC1α and PRDM16 in adipose tissues were decreased in the dead piglets(P < 0.05). The microarray of back fat samples from the surviving and dead piglets were conducted; two down-regulated genes namely AAMDC and CASTOR1 were identified from the dead piglets. According to quantitative real-time PCR(RT-PCR) analysis, the mRNA expression of AAMDC decreased, whereas CASTOR1 expression elevated in the dead piglets compared to the surviving piglets(P < 0.05).Conclusions: The fat deposition and adipocyte differentiation in the dead piglets are insufficient compared to the surviving piglets, which may attenuate the thermogenic ability of white adipose tissue(WAT). | 14 | Co_(1-x)S embedded in porous carbon derived from metal organic framework as a highly efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction显示文摘Developing active, robust, and cost-efficient electrocatalysts is critical for oxygen evolution reaction(OER). Here, a novel composite catalyst of Co_(1-x)S embedded in porous dodecahedron carbon hybrid was synthesized by a two-step conversion protocol of a cobalt-based metal-organic framework(ZIF-67). The porous dodecahedron Co_(1-x)S@C composite catalyst was prepared by direct oxidation of ZIF-67 followed by sulfurization reaction. The Co_(1-x)S@C composite exhibit superior OER performance, including a low overpotential of 260 mV for 10 mA/cm2, a small Tafel slope of ~85 mV/dec, outstanding stability over 80 h and almost 100% Faradaic efficiency. The various material characterizations indicate that the excellent activity and strong stability of Co_(1-x)S@C might be attributed to good conductivity of Co_(1-x)S, mesoporous nanostructure, and synergistic effect of Co_(1-x)S encapsulated within porous carbon. | 18 | Biomass increment and mortality losses in tropical secondary forests of Hainan, China显示文摘Secondary forests, created after heavy logging,are an important part of China's forests. We investigated forest biomass and its accumulation rate in 38 plots in a tropical secondary forest on Hainan Island. These secondary forests are moderate carbon sinks, averaging1.96–2.17 t C ha-1 a-1. Biomass increment is largely by medium-sized(10–35 m) trees. Tree mortality accounts for almost 30% of the biomass and plays a negligible role in biomass accumulation estimates. Mortality rate is highly dependent on tree size. For small trees and seedlings, it is related to competition due to elevated irradiance after logging. Regarding prospective biomass and rates of accumulation, recovery is not as rapid as in secondary forests of cleared land.
