2Mapping wetland changes in China between 1978 and 2008显示文摘Four wetland maps for all China have been produced,based on Landsat and CBERS-02B remote sensing data between 1978 and 2008 (1978,1990,2000 and 2008).These maps were mainly developed by manual interpretation and validated by substantial field investigation in 2009.Based on these maps,we analyzed the 2008 wetland distribution in China and discussed wetland changes and their drivers over the past 30 years.(i) There were about 324097 km 2 of wetlands in 2008,for which inland marshes or swamps were the most common wetland type (35%),with lakes (26%) second.Most of the wetlands were in Heilongjiang,Inner Mongolia,Qinghai and Tibet,occupying about 55% of the national wetland area.(ii) From 1978 to 2008,China's wetland area continually and significantly decreased,by about 33% based on changes in the wetland map.This was in sharp contrast to the increase in artificial wetlands,which increased by about 122%.Inland marshes accounted for the main loss of total wetlands from 1978 to 2000.From 2000 through 2008,riverine and lacustrine wetlands constituted the main wetland loss.Fortunately however,the rate of wetland loss decreased from 5523 to 831 km 2 /a.(iii) The change ratio of lost natural wetlands (including inland and coastal wetlands) to non-wetlands has decreased slightly over the past 30 years.From 1978 to 1990,nearly all natural wetlands (98%) lost were transformed into non-wetlands.However,the ratio declined to 86% from 1990 to 2000,and to 77% from 2000 to 2008.(iv) All Chinese provinces were divided into three groups according to patterns of wetland changes,which could relate to the driving forces of such changes.Tibet was completely different from other provinces,as it was one representative example in which there was a net wetland increase,because of global warming and decreased human activity since 1990.Increased economic development caused considerable wetland loss in most eastern provinces,and artificial wetlands increased.NIU ZhenGuo ZHANG HaiYing WANG XianWei YAO WenBo ZHOU DeMin ZHAO KuiYi ZHAO Hui LI NaNa HUANG HuaBing LI CongCong YANG Jun LIU CaiXia LIU Shuang WANG Lin LI Zhan YANG ZhenZhong QIAO Fei ZHENG YaoMin CHEN YanLei SHENG YongWei GAO XiaoHong ZHU WeiHong WANG WenQing WANG Hong WENG YongLing ZHUANG DaFang LIU JiYuan LUO ZhiCai CHENG Xiao GUO ZiQi GONG Peng 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,22:51
3The first all-season sample set for mapping global land cover with Landsat-8 data显示文摘We report the world's first all-season training and validation sample sets for global land cover classification with Landsat-8 data.Prior to this,such samples were only available at a single date primarily from the growing season.It is unknown how much limitation such a single-date sample has to mapping global land cover in other seasons of the year.To answer this question,we selected available Landsat-8 images from four seasons and collected training and validation samples from them.We compared the performances of training samples in different seasons using Random Forest algorithm.We found that the use of training samples from any individual season would result in the best overall classification accuracy when validated by samples in the same season.The global overall accuracy from combined best seasonal results was 67.2% when classifying the 11 Level-1 classes in the Finer Resolution Observation and Monitoring of Global Land Cover(FROM-GLC) classification system.The use of training samples from all seasons(named all-season training sample set hereafter) produced an overall accuracy of 67.0%.We also tested classification within 10° latitude 60° longitude zones using all-season training subsample within each zone and obtained an overall accuracy of 70.2%.This indicates that properly grouped subsamples in space can help improve classification accuracies.All the results in this study seem to suggest that it is possible to use an all-season training sample set to reach global optimality with universal applicability in classifying images acquired at any time of a year for global land cover mapping.Congcong Li Peng Gong Jie Wang Zhiliang Zhu Gregory S. 4Microbial reduction of uranium(Ⅵ)by Bacillus sp.Dwc-2:A macroscopic and spectroscopic study显示文摘The microbial reduction of U(VI) by Bacillus sp. dwc-2, isolated from soil in Southwest China,was explored using transmission electron microscopy(TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and X-ray absorption near edge spectroscopy(XANES). Our studies indicated that approximately 16.0% of U(VI) at an initial concentration of 100 mg/L uranium nitrate could be reduced by Bacillus sp. dwc-2 at pH 8.2 under anaerobic conditions at room temperature.Additionally, natural organic matter(NOM) played an important role in enhancing the bioreduction of U(VI) by Bacillus sp. dwc-2. XPS results demonstrated that the uranium presented mixed valence states(U(VI) and U(IV)) after bioreduction, which was subsequently confirmed by XANES. 6Genetic dissection of rice appearance quality and cooked rice elongation by genome-wide association study显示文摘Appearance and cooked rice elongation are key quality traits of rice. Although some QTL for these traits have been identified, understanding of the genetic relationship between them remains limited. In the present study, large phenotypic variation was observed in 760 accessions from the 3 K Rice Genomes Project for both appearance quality and cooked rice elongation. Most component traits of appearance quality and cooked rice elongation showed significant pairwise correlations, but a low correlation was found between appearance quality and cooked rice elongation. A genome-wide association study identified 74 QTL distributed on all 12 chromosomes for grain length, grain width, length to width ratio, degree of endosperm with chalkiness, rice elongation difference, and elongation index. Thirteen regions containing QTL stably expressed in multiple environments and/or exerting pleiotropic effects on multiple traits were detected. By gene-based association analysis and haplotype analysis, 46 candidate genes, including five cloned genes, and 49 favorable alleles were identified for these 13 QTL. The effect of the candidate gene Wx on rice elongation difference was validated by a transgenic strategy. 8Organic-semiconductor: Polymer-electret blends for high-performance transistors显示文摘As compared with polymer semiconductors, solution-processed small-moleculesemiconductors usually have poorer film-formation properties, which induceswide variations in device performance in terms of mobility and threshold voltage,thus severely limiting their commercial applications. In this work, we propose aneasily accessible method to improve the performance and reduce the variabilityof small-molecule organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) by blending organicsemiconductors with an insulator polymer, which is subsequently post-treatedby gate stress to generate an electret. By blending the organic semiconductor2,7-didodecyl[1]benzothieno[3,2-b][1]benzothiophene (C12-BTBT) with the insulatorpolystyrene, uniform transport layers with vertically phase segregated morphologyare obtained, from which the mobility and threshold voltage of OFETs are largelymanipulated. The OFETs exhibit field-effect mobilities as high as 7.5 cm2-V-l-s-1with an on/off ratio exceeding 106 in ambient conditions. This double-layerstructure provides an appropriate architecture for applying gate-stress to injectcharges into the insulating layer, forming an electret. The generation of theelectret is thermally accelerated and thus can be easily realized under moderategate-stress at elevated temperature (e.g., 60 ℃). After cooling, the electret layer servesas a floating-gate, which not only continuously tunes the threshold voltage andfield-effect mobility, but also helps minimize the contact resistances and optimizethe subthreshold swing. 9Bioaccumulation characterization of uranium by a novel Streptomyces sporoverrucosus dwc-3显示文摘The biosorption mechanisms of uranium on an aerobic bacterial strain Streptomyces sporoverrucosus dwc-3,isolated from a potential disposal site for(ultra-)low uraniferous radioactive waste in Southwest China,were evaluated by using transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy dispersive X-ray(EDX)analysis,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),proton induced X-ray emission(PIXE)and enhanced proton backscattering spectrometry(EPBS).Approximately60% of total uranium at an initial concentration of 10 mg/L uranium nitrate solution could be absorbed on 100 mg S.sporoverrucosus dwc-3 with an adsorption capacity of more than3.0 mg/g(wet weight)after 12 hr at room temperature at p H 3.0.The dynamic biosorption process of S.sporoverrucosus dwc-3 for uranyl ions was well described by a pseudo second-order model.S.sporoverrucosus dwc-3 could accumulate uranium on cell walls and within the cell,as revealed by SEM and TEM analysis as well as EDX spectra.XPS and FT-IR analysis further suggested that the absorbed uranium was bound to amino,phosphate and carboxyl groups of the cells.Additionally,PIXE and EPBS results confirmed that ion exchange also contributed to the adsorption process of uranium.Xiaolong Li Congcong Ding Jiali Liao Liang Du Qun Sun Jijun Yang Yuanyou Yang Dong Zhang Jun Tang Ning Liu 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,3:5

11Association of assisted reproductive technology, germline de novo mutations and congenital heart defects in a prospective birth cohort study显示文摘Emerging evidence suggests that children conceived through assisted reproductive technology(ART)have a higher risk of congenital heart defects(CHDs)even when there is no family history.De novo mutation(DNM)is a well-known cause of sporadic congenital diseases;however,whether ART procedures increase the number of germline DNM(gDNM)has not yet been well studied.Here,we performed whole-genome sequencing of 1137 individuals from 160 families conceived through ART and 205 families conceived spontaneously.Children conceived via ART carried 4.59 more gDNMs than children conceived spontaneously,including 332 paternal and 1.26 maternal DNMs,after correcting for parental age at conception,cigarette smoking,alcohol drinking,and exercise behaviors.Paternal DNMs in offspring conceived via ART are characterized by C>T substitutions at CpG sites,which potentially affect protein-coding genes and are significantly associated with the increased risk of CHD.In addition,the accumulation of non-coding functional mutations was independently associated with CHD and 87.9% of the mutations were originated from the father.Among ART offspring,infertility of the father was associated with elevated paternal DNMs;usage of both recombinant and urinary follicle-stimulating hormone and high-dosage human chorionic gonadotropin trigger was associated with an increase of maternal DNMs.In sum,the increased gDNMs in offspring conceived by ART were primarily originated from fathers,indicating that ART itself may not be a major reason for the accumulation of gDNMs.Our findings emphasize the importance of evaluating the germline status of the fathers in families with the use of ART.Cheng Wang Hong Lv Xiufeng Ling Hong Li Feiyang Diao Juncheng Dai Jiangbo Du Ting Chen Qi Xi Yang Zhao Kun Zhou Bo Xu Xiumei Han Xiaoyu Liu Meijuan Peng Congcong Chen Shiyao Tao Lei Huang Cong Liu Mingyang Wen Yangqian Jiang Tao Jiang Chuncheng Lu Wei Wu Di Wu Minjian Chen Yuan Lin Xuejiang Guo Ran Huo Jiayin Liu Hongxia Ma Guangfu Jin Yankai Xia Jiahao Sha Hongbing Shen Zhibin Hu 2021Cell Research2021,31,8:2
12Effects of typhoon Roke and Haitang on phytoplankton community structure in northeastern South China sea显示文摘The influence of typhoon and Kuroshio intrusion process on the natural phytoplankton assemblages in the northeastern South China Sea(neSCS)was examined during a cruise in summer 2017.One hundred ninety-six seawater samples were collected and analyzed in the neSCS.In total,299 species were identified belonging to 82 genera,mostly dominated by Bacillariophyta(159),followed by Dinophyta(132),Cyanophyta(4)and Chrysophyta(4).Among all,Thalassionema nitzschioides,Thalassionema frauenfeldii,Thalassiosira minima,in Bacillariophyta,Prorocentrum lenticulatum,Prorocentrum compressum in Dinophyta,and Trichodesmium thiebautii,in the Cyanophyta were the most dominated species,respectively.Correlation analysis shows compared with other groups Bacillariophyta was mostly influenced by silicate,whereas,Dinophyta and Cyanophyta showed significant correlation with temperature,salinity,phosphate,and nitrate.After the typhoon,the higher abundance of Dinophyta was observed,whereas it was lower in case of Bacillariophyta and Cyanophyta,shows typhoon“Roke“and”Haitang”had a significant influence on the phytoplankton assemblages,which could be manifested by the variations of total phytoplankton abundance in the surface water of neSCS.Overall,our present study provides the latest in-depth information about how the environmental factors influencing the phytoplankton density and diversity in the neSCS during summer.Yingjie Mao Jun Sun Congcong Guo Yuqiu Wei Xingzhou Wang Shuang Yang Chao Wu 2019Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2019,5,1:2
13Reactive oxygen species and nitric oxide induce senescence of rudimentary leaves and the expression profiles of the related genes in Litchi chinensis显示文摘Litchi is one of the most important subtropical evergreen fruit trees in southern Asia.Previous studies indicated that high-temperature conditions encourage growth of rudimentary leaves in panicles and suppress flowering.We have demonstrated that methyl viologen dichloride hydrate(MV)and sodium nitroprusside(SNP)promoted flowering in litchi partially by inhibiting the growth of rudimentary leaves via reactive oxygen species(ROS)and nitric oxide(NO).In the present study,we examined the microstructure and ultrastructure,programmed cell death(PCD)ratio,nuclei morphology of the rudimentary leaves,and the expression of senescence-related genes after the treatment with ROS or NO.The results showed that chromatins of the ROS-or NO-treated cells in the rudimentary leaves were condensed.Fusion of the cytoplasm-digesting vesicles with the vacuole and degradation of cytoplasm forming scattered debris were found in those of the treated cells.Treatment with ROS or NO increased the cell PCD ratio.Morphology of the nuclei stained by propidium iodide(PI)showed that nuclei shape became irregular after the ROS or NO treatment.Further,the expression levels of LcRboh,LcMC-1-like,and LcPirin were higher in the ROS-and NO-treated rudimentary leaves than those in the control ones,suggesting that these genes may be involved in the ROS and NO-induced senescence and abscission of the rudimentary leaves in litchi.Our results suggested that ROS and NO play an important role in inducing the senescence of the rudimentary leaves,and ROS-and NO-induced PCD may be involved in the regulation of the rudimentary leaf growth in litchi.Haifang Yang Hye-Ji Kim Houbin Chen Yong Lu Xingyu Lu Congcong Wang Biyan Zhou 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:2
14Integration of preparation of K,Na-embedded activated carbon and reduction of Zn-bearing dusts显示文摘Large amounts of solid wastes and flue gases are generated in iron and steel production process,probably leading to serious environmental pollution without duly handle.An innovative and green process of simultaneous reduction of zinc-bearing dusts and activation of low-rank coal was developed and its mechanism was clarified in this paper.Under the optimal conditions,the reduced zinc-bearing dusts containing low harmful elements(0.02%Zn,0.015%K and 0.03%Na)could be made as high-quality burden for blast furnace while the low-rank coal was transferred into K,Na-embedded activated carbon,which can be used as effective adsorbent for purification of SO_(2) and NO-containing flue gases.The solid wastes were successfully utilized to treat the flue gases through the process.The synergetic activation and reduction mechanism in the process was revealed.The coupling effect between reduction reactions of metal oxides in the dusts and activation reaction of carbon in the coal promoted the simultaneous reduction and activation process.In the meanwhile,part of the potassium and sodium from the zinc-bearing dusts could be adsorbed by the activated carbon and played a catalytic role in the activation process.Dingzheng Wang Deqing Zhu Jian Pan Zhengqi Guo Congcong Yang Hongyu Tian Yuxiao Xue 2022International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,3:1

20Endothelial Notch activation promotes neutrophil transmigration via downregulating endomucin to aggravate hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘Inflammatory leukocytes infiltration is orchestrated by mechanisms involving chemokines,selectins,addressins and other adhesion molecules derived from endothelial cells(ECs),but how they respond to inflammatory cues and coordinate leukocyte transmigration remain elusive.In this study,using hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury(HIRI)as a model,we identified that endothelial Notch activation was rapidly and dynamically induced in liver sinusoidal endothelial cells(LSECs)in acute inflammation.In mice with EC-specific Notch activation(NICeCA),HIRI induced exacerbated liver damage.Consistently,endothelial Notch activation enhanced neutrophil infiltration and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-αexpression in HIRI.Transcriptome analysis and further qRT-PCR as well as immunofluorescence indicated that endomucin(EMCN),a negative regulator of leukocyte adhesion,was downregulated in LSECs from NICeCA mice.EMCN was downregulated during HIRI in wild-type mice and in vitro cultured ECs insulted by hypoxia/re-oxygenation injury.Notch activation in ECs led to increased neutrophil adhesion and transendothelial migration,which was abrogated by EMCN overexpression in vitro.In mice deficient of RBPj,the integrative transcription factor of canonical Notch signaling,although overwhelming sinusoidal malformation aggravated HIRI,the expression of EMCN was upregulated;and pharmaceutical Notch blockade in vitro also upregulated EMCN and inhibited transendothelial migration of neutrophils.The Notch activation-exaggerated HIRI was compromised by blocking LFA-1,which mediated leukocyte adherence by associating with EMCN.Therefore,endothelial Notch signaling controls neutrophil transmigration via EMCN to modulate acute inflammation in HIRI.Peiran Zhang Kangyi Yue Xinli Liu Xianchun Yan Ziyan Yang Juanli Duan Congcong Xia Xinyuan Xu Mei Zhang Liang Liang Lin Wang Hua Han 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,3:1
