1Beneficial effects of Houttuynia cordata polysaccharides on “two-hit” acute lung injury and endotoxic fever in rats associated with anti-complementary activities显示文摘Houttuynia cordata Thunb. is a traditional herb used for clearing heat and eliminating toxins,and has also been used for the treatment of severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS). In vitro, the crude H. cordata polysaccharides(CHCP) exhibited potent anti-complementary activity through both the classical and alternative pathways by acting on components C3 and C4 of the complement system without interfering with the coagulation system. This study was to investigate the preventive effects of CHCP on acute lung injury(ALI) induced by hemorrhagic shock plus lipopolysaccharide(LPS) instillation(two-hit)and LPS-induced fever in rats. CHCP significantly attenuated pulmonary injury in the 'two-hit' ALI model by reducing pulmonary edema and protein exudation in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF). In addition, it reduced the deposit of complement activation products in the lung and improved oxidantantioxidant imbalance. Moreover, CHCP administration inhibited fever in rats, reduced the number of leukocytes and restored serum complement levels. The inhibition on the inappropriate activation of complement system by CHCP may play an important role in its beneficial effects on inflammatory diseases. 2The deep-lake deposit in the Upper Triassic Yanchang Formation in Ordos Basin, China and its significance for oil-gas accumulation显示文摘The deep-lake facies of the Yanchang Formation represents a large outflowing lake basin in the Ordos area. Its deposition can be divided into four stages: lake genetic and expanding stage, peak stage, inversion stage and dying stage. All the stages are obviously consistent with the evolution of depositional environment and the paleoclimate in the region. The study indicates that the lake basin has evolution fluctuations from highstand to lowstand for four times in its evolution history, and the deposition center of the lake has not obviously moved, staying along the Huachi-Yijun belt. The deep lake sedimentary system mainly consists of deep water deltas and turbidite fans during the entire evolution course of the lake basin in the Late Triassic. The former mainly developed on the slope of steep shore of the delta in the early period of the deep-water expansion and gradually experienced a big shift from deep-water deltas to shallow-water platform delta. And the latter appeared almost in all the above stages and had two types of turbidite fans, slope-moving turbidite fans and slump turbidite fans. The slope-moving turbidite fans have relatively complete facies belts overlapping one another vertically and consist of the slope channel of inter fans, the turbidite channel, inter turbidite channel and turbidite channel front of middle fans and outer fans (or lakebottom plain). However, the slide-moving turbidity fans are formed in the deep lake with their microfacies difficult to be distinguished, and only the center microfacies and edge microfacies can be determined. The two types of the turbidity fans are similarly distributing in the near-root-slope and far-root-slope regions. 3A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 4Simultaneous determination of six steroidal saponins and one ecdysone in Asparagus filicinus using high performance liquid chromatography coupled with evaporative light scattering detection显示文摘A high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with an evaporative light scattering detector(HPLC-ELSD)has been developed to evaluate the quality of Asparagus filicinus through a simultaneous determination of six steroidal saponins and one ecdysone,including aspafiliosides A,B,C,E,G,filiasparoside A and 20-hydroxyecdysone.With a C_(18) analytical column,the seven analytes were separated efficiently using acetonitrile-water as the mobile phase in a gradient program.The method limits of detection ranged 0.1250.225μg,and the method limits of quantitation ranged 0.408-0.720μg,respectively.The intra-and inter-day precisions of the method were evaluated and were all less than 3%.All the recoveries for the spiked analytes ranged 95.16%-100.61%.The proposed method was succesfully applied to quantify the seven components in thirteen samples from different localities in China.Libo Zhou Zhihong Cheng Daofeng Chen 2012Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2012,2,3:2
5Paleogeomorphy evolution of the Ordovician weathering crust and its implication for reservoir development,eastern Ordos Basin显示文摘Gas reservoir development of the Ordovician weathering crust in the Ordos Basin is closely controlled by the pre-Carboniferous paleogeomorphy.Previous studies show that the paleogeomorphy is high in the west and low in the east,and the karst highland,karst slope and karst basin are developed from west to east.With further exploration in recent years,many karst breccia that represent strong karstification,are found in the east area which previously is considered to be the Ordovician karst basin.Thus,it is necessary to revaluate controlling factors of karst paleogeomorphy development from a viewpoint of the dynamic paleogeomorphy evolution,to investigate the paleogeomorphy evolution of the Ordovician weathering crust in geological history and guide further research and prediction of development law of reservoir spaces.In order to reconstruct the paleogeomorphy of the weathering crust in the top of Ordovician in the east Ordos Basin,paleogeography,thickness of residual strata and paleokarst characteristics are well studied.The result shows that a wide range of paleokarst highland occurred in the central to east part of Ordos Basin in the early period,and the karst reservoir spaces were formed;but in the late period,the east part of the basin gradually evolved into the paleokarst basin,the current pre-Carboniferous paleogeomorphy was thus formed,and the dissolution reservoir spaces formed in the early period were mostly filled,accordingly the reservoirs were tight.However fracture networks formed by cave collapse connect intercrystalline pores of dolomite,therefore,the reservoirs can still be well preserved locally and are worthy targets for hydrocarbon exploration.Xinshan Wei Junfeng Ren Junxing Zhao Daofeng Zhang Shunshe Luo Liubin Wei Juanping Chen 2018Petroleum Research2018,3,1:2

7Development of a C3c-based ELISA method for the determination of anti-complementary potency of Bupleurum polysaccharides显示文摘Traditionally, determination of inhibitory potency of complement inhibitors is performed by the hemolytic assay. However, this assay is not applicable to the lectin pathway, thus impeding the understanding of complement inhibitors against the overall function of the complement system. The main objective of our study was to develop a specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) as an alternative method to assess the anti-complement activity, particularly against the lectin pathway. By using respective coating substrates against different activation pathways, followed by capturing the stable C3c fragments, our ELISA method can be used to screen complement inhibitors against the classical pathway and the lectin pathway. The inhibitory effect of suramin on the classical pathway, as measured by our hemolytic assay is consistent with previous reports. Further assessment of suramin and Bupleurum polysaccharides against the lectin pathway showed a good reproducibility of the method. Comparison of the lectin pathway IC50 between Bupleurum smithii var. parvifolium polysaccharides(1.055 mg/mL) and Bupleurum chinense polysaccharides(0.98 mg/mL) showed that, similar to the classical and alterative pathway, these two Bupleurum polysaccharides had comparable anti-complementary properties against the lectin pathway. 14Houttuynia cordata polysaccharides alleviate ulcerative colitis by restoring intestinal homeostasis显示文摘Houttuynia cordata is traditionally used as phytoantibiotics for treating lung disease in China.Houttuynia cordata polysaccharides(HCPs)have been reported to alleviate influenza virus-induced intestinal and lung immune injury by regulating the gutlung axis.The present study aims to investigate the effects and mechanisms of HCPs on ulcerative colitis(UC).Male C57BL/6 mice were induced by dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)to establish the UC animal model.Our results showed that HCPs significantly reduced the weight loss and the shortening of colon length in colitis mice,and relieved the pathological damage of colon mucosa and inhibited the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,etc.It was suggested that HCPs could significantly improve DSS-induced colitis in mice.HCPs directly protected intestinal epithelial cells,ameliorated epithelial barrier dysfunction and cell apoptosis,which was also proved in H2O2 stimulated cell apoptosis model.HCPs inhibited inflammation in the colon,which was related to suppressing the infiltration of macrophages,inhibiting the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and proteins(TLR4,NF-κB),and restoring the dysfunction of Th17 and Treg cells.HCPs also restored the alteration of intestinal flora induced by DSS,increased the abundance of Firmicutes and Bacteroides,and reduced the abundance of Proteobacteria.This study confirmed the protective effect of Houttuynia cordata polysaccharide extracted from traditional Chinese medicine on ulcerative colitis,of which the mechanism was closely related to the maintenance of intestinal homeostasis(intestinal barrier,immune cells,and intestinal bacteria).CEN Lifeng YI Tong HAO Yuanzhen SHI Chenchen SHI Xunlong LU Yan CHEN Daofeng ZHU Haiyan 2022Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2022,20,12:1
