1Effect of Agitator’s Types on the Hydrodynamic Flow in an Agitated Tank显示文摘The aim of this paper is to study the effect of agitator’s types on the turbulent flows in stirred tanks without and with baffles.The hydrodynamics behavior induced by four different agitator’s types:a Rushton turbine(RT),a circular blade turbine(CBT),a diverging triangular blade turbine(DTBT)and converging triangular blade turbine(CTBT)are numerically predicted by solving the Navier-Stokes equations and RNGκ–εturbulent model.The simulations are carried out using the Multi Reference Frame(MRF)approach.The numerical results showed good agreement with experiment.We find that the agitator CTBT gives an important profit on the power consumption per report/ratio the others and DTBT give a good reduction of the vortex size of the impeller angles.Mohammed Foukrach Mohamed Bouzit Houari Ameur Youcef Kamla 2020Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2020,33,2:2

3Effect of the Inclination of Baffles on the Power Consumption and Fluid Flows in a Vessel Stirred by a Rushton Turbine显示文摘The role of baffles in mechanically stirred tanks is to promote the stability of power drawn by the impeller and to avoid the fluid swirling, thus enhancing mixing. The present paper numerically investigates the baffles effects in a vessel stirred by a Rushton turbine. The geometric factor of interest is the baffle inclination which is varying between 25°, 32.5°, 45°, 70° and 90° at different impeller rotational speeds. The impeller rotational direction has also been varied. The vortex size and power consumption were evaluated for each geometrical configuration. 4Chronic Toxicity of Propoxur on Carbohydrate, Protein and Serum Electrolyte Levels in Catfish, Heteropneustes fossilis显示文摘Alterations in the biochemical parameters of the catfish treated with low sublethal con-centration (2. 15 mg’ L- 1; 1/3 of 96h LC50 ) of a carbamate Pesticide-propoxur under staticlaboratory conditions for 10, 20 and 30 days were assayed. The fish elicited consistant hyper-glycemia, concomitant wiLh liver and muscle glycogenolysis, and hypoproteinemia in muscleand liver except 10 day pet exposure to the pesticide, where hyperproteinemia was noticed inthe liver. Throughout the exposure period the fish exhibited hyperphosphatemia. 15Andrographolide inhibits chikungunya virus infection by up-regulating host innate immune pathways显示文摘Objective: To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of andrographolide, a plant derived compound, against chikungunya virus(CHIKV) infection. Methods: Using flow cytometry and immunoblotting assay, in vitro viral protein expression was studied in THP-1 cells line. In Balb/c mouse neonates, viral RNA copy number was determined by real time PCR. Results:The results showed reduced CHIKV protein expression on andrographolide treatment in CHIKV-infected human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, Vero cells and THP-I cell line.In vivo, andrographolide treatment to CHIKV-infected neonates reduced viral RNA copy number. Further. andrographolide also increased cytotoxic T lymphocytes both in vitro and in vivo. Andrographolide also activated host innate immune pathways, viz., protein kinase R.phosphorylated eukaryotic initiation factor 2 α, retinoic acid inducible gene-Ⅰ and interferon regulatory factor 3/7, thereby increasing IFN-a secretion. CHIKV-induced nuclear factor κlight chain enhancer of activated B cells and tumor necrosis factor-a was also reduced on andrographolide treatment.
