1Efficacy of premedication with activated Dimethicone or N-acetylcysteine in improving visibility during upper endoscopy显示文摘AIM:To assess the efficacy of N-acetylcysteine(NAC) and activated Dimethicone in improving endoscopic mucosal visibility.METHODS:A total of 148 patients were randomly allocated into four groups to receive one of the following premedications:group A:100 mL water alone;group B:activated Dimethicone plus water(up to 100 mL);group C:NAC plus water(up to 100 mL);and group D:activated Dimethicone and NAC plus water(up to 100 mL).A single endoscopist blinded to the patients group assessed the gastric mucosal visibility scores(range 1-4) at four sites.The sum of the scores from the four sites was considered as the total mucosal visibility score(TMVS).RESULTS:The patients in group B showed a significantly lower TMVS than those of groups A and C(P < 0.001).The TMVS in patients of group D was significantly lower than that of groups A and C(P < 0.001).The TMVS did not significantly differ between groups B and D(P > 0.05).The difference between TMVS of groups C and A was not significant(P > 0.05).CONCLUSION:Premedication with activated Dimethicone 20 min prior to the upper endoscopy leads to the best visibility.NAC does not improve visualization by itself.Seyed Mohammad Kazem Hosseini Asl Gholam Reza Sivandzadeh 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,37:15

4A comprehensive experimental evaluation of asphaltene dispersants for injection under reservoir conditions显示文摘As the efficiency of dispersants with different origins is questionable for each typical oil sample,the present study provides a reproducible and reliable method for screening asphaltene dispersants for a typical asphaltenic crude oil.Four different asphaltene dispersants(polyisobutylene succinimide.polyisobutylene succinic ester,nonylphenol-formaldehyde resin modified by polyamines.and rapeseed oil amide) were prepared and their performance on two oils from an Iranian field under laboratory and reservoir conditions was studied.A thorough analysis including ash content and SARA tests was performed on the solid asphaltene particles to characterize the nature of deposits.Then a highly efficient carrier fluid,which is crucial when injecting dispersant into the wells,was selected from a variety of chemicals by comparing their solubility.In the next step,using an optical microscope,a viscometer,and a Turbiscan.the screening of dispersants under laboratory conditions was done on a mixture of dead oil and dispersant to evaluate the onset of asphaltene precipitation and its stability when titrating by a precipitant.Finally,two different mixtures of the efficient dispersants.live oil,and carrier fluid were used with the solid detection system(SDS) and the filtration method to examine their effects on the onset pressure of asphaltene precipitation and the asphaltene content of the crude oil under reservoir conditions.The results show that the combination of experimental methods used in this work could be consistently applied to screening asphaltene dispersants.Among the four different dispersants applied here,the dispersant based on nonylphenol-formaldehyde resin modified by polyamines showed the best performance on the available live oils.This chemical modified the onset pressure of asphaltene precipitation of light oil from 4300 psi to about 3600 psi and decreased the precipitated asphaltene of heavy oil by about 30%.Hamed Firoozinia Kazem Fouladi Hossein Abad Akbar Varamesh 2016Petroleum Science2016,13,2:6
5New approaches for evaluation of soil health, sensitivity and resistance to degradation显示文摘Assessment of soil health requires complexevaluation of properties and functions responsible for abroad range of ecosystem services. Numerous soil qualityindices (SQI) have been suggested for the evaluation ofspecific groups of soil functions, but comparison of variousSQI is impossible because they are based on a combinationof specific soil properties. To avoid this problem, wesuggest an SQI-area approach based on the comparison ofthe areas on a radar diagram of a combination of chemical,biological and physical properties. The new approach isindependent of the SQI principle and allows rapid andsimple comparison of parameter groups and soils. Anotherapproach analyzing the resistance and sensitivity ofproperties to degradation is suggested for a detailedevaluation of soil health. The resistance and sensitivityof soil properties are determined through comparison withthe decrease of soil organic carbon (SOC) as a universalparameter responsible for many functions. The SQI-areaand resistance/sensitivity approaches were tested based on quences after the ab and on ment of agricultural soils. 6Evaluation of kefir as a potential probiotic on growth performance,serum biochemistry and immune responses in broiler chicks显示文摘This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of milk or molasses kefir as a probiotic on growth performance, carcass traits, serum biochemistry and humoral immune responses in broiler chickens. A total of 192 one-d-old as hatched broiler chicks(Ross 308) were randomly allotted to 4 treatments, each with 4 replicate pens of 12 chicks. The following treatments were applied: 1) a basal diet(C) and normal drinking water, 2) 2% milk kefir in drinking water, 3) 2% molasses kefir in drinking water, and 4) the diet C supplemented with commercial probiotic. At d 42, eight birds per treatment were killed for determination of carcass traits. Broilers at 28 days of age were bled for measuring antibody titers against Newcastle disease virus(NDV) and avian influenza virus(AIV), at 30 days of age for antibody titers against sheep red blood cell(SRBC), and at 42 days of age for biochemical analysis. Supplementing 2%milk kefir increased body weight of broilers at 28 and 42 days of age(P < 0.05). Supplementing 2%molasses kefir improved feed conversation ratio(FCR) of broilers during growth period(P < 0.05), but FCR of broilers in other periods was not affected. Daily feed intake, internal organ weights, and carcass traits were not influenced by the treatments except for small intestine and ceca length. Small intestinal length significantly decreased in broilers supplemented with milk and molasses kefir(P < 0.05). Molasses kefir supplementation significantly(P < 0.05) increased antibody titer against SRBC at 31 days of age but other immune related parameters were not statistically different among treatments. Biochemical parameters including serum protein, albumin, and triglyceride concentrations were not statistically(P> 0.05) influenced. Broilers supplemented with molasses kefir, had a significantly lower concentration of serum total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and elevated high density lipoprotein cholesterol at 42 days of age(P < 0.05). 7An exploratory study on the use of enzyme activities as sediment tracers:biochemical fingerprints?显示文摘Little information exists on the potential of soil enzyme activities,which are sensitive to soil properties and management,for the characterization of sediment sources at the catchment scale.The objective of this study is to explore and evaluate enzyme activity as tracer for sediment fingerprinting in the Hiv catchment(55 km^2),Iran.Therefore,four enzymes were measured from 42 different sampling sites,covering three sediment source areas(rangeland/surface erosion,orchard/surface erosion,and streambank erosion),as well as from 12 sediment samples from reservoir check dams (sediment sinks).The results indicate that,based upon backward mode discriminant analysis,βglucosidase and dehydrogenase,allowed more than 95%of the samples to be correctly assigned to their source areas.These enzymes were selected as input data for a mixing-model to determine the relative contribution of the sampled sediment sources.The mean contributions from rangeland, orchard and streambank sources in the study area were estimated as 11.3%,15.1%and 73.7%, respectively.Using geochemical tracers,the mean contribution from rangeland,orchard and streambank sources was estimated as 14.1%,9.5%and 74.8%,respectively.Combined biochemical and geochemical tracers,similar values were obtained(18.7%,10.7%and 70.7%,respectively).Our results indicate that soil enzyme activity allows for a good characterization of sediment sources,and can provide a complementary tool to currently existing sediment fingerprinting approaches.However, the method should be also tested in other regions.Kazem NOSRATI Gerard GOVERS Hassan AHMADI Forood SHARIFI Mohammad Ali AMOOZEGAR Roel MERCKX Matthias VANMAERCKE 2011International Journal of Sediment Research2011,26,2:5

A new backoff algorithm,named RWBO+BEB,was proposed previously to decrease the packet collision probability significantly. In this paper,it is explored how to make RWBO+BEB support service differentiation in wireless ad hoc networks,and a novel proportional service differentiation algorithm,named p-RWBO,is proposed to allocate the wireless bandwidth according to the bandwidth ratio of each station. In p-RWBO,station n's walking probability(pw,n) is selected according to its allocated bandwidth ratio. An analytical model is proposed to analyze how to choose pw,n according to the bandwidth ratios of station n. 11Effects of rhubarb(Rheum ribes L.)syrup on dysenteric diarrhea in children:a randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled trial显示文摘BACKGROUND:Rheum ribes L.is a plant native to China,Iran,Turkey,India,and a few other countries.Antidiarrheal activity is considered to be one of its important properties according to various systems of traditional medicine.An increasing rate of bacterial resistance to antibiotics has led to treatment failure in some cases of shigellosis in children,and underlines a need for safe,efficient and valid options.OBJECTIVE:The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of R.ribes syrup as a complementary medicine for treatment of shigellosis in children.DESIGN,SETTING,PARTICIPANTS AND INTERVENTIONS:This randomized,doubleblind,placebocontrolled trial started with a group of 150 children aged between 12–72 months with suspected Shigella dysentery.R.ribes syrup or placebo syrup was administered to the intervention and control groups,respectively for 5 days.In addition,the standard antibiotic treatment(ceftriaxone for the first 3 days and cefixime syrup for 2 further days)was administered to both groups.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Body temperature,abdominal pain,need for antipyretics,defecation frequency,stool volume and consistency and microscopic stool examination were recorded as outcome measures.Any observed adverse effects were also recorded.RESULTS:Mean duration of fever and diarrhea in the R.ribes group was significantly lower than that in the placebo group(P=0.016 and 0.001,respectively).In addition,patients in the R.ribes group showed shorter duration of need for antipyretics and shorter duration of abdominal pain(P=0.012 and 0.001,respectively).However,there were no significant differences between the two groups regarding the microscopic stool analyses.Furthermore,no adverse effect was reported.CONCLUSION:R.ribes syrup can be recommended as a complementary treatment for children with Shigella dysentery.Ali Khiveh Mohammad Hashem Hashempur Mehrdad Shakiba Mohammad Hassan Lotfi Afsaneh Shakeri Seid Kazem Kazemeini Zohre Mousavi Marzie Jabbari Mohammad Kamalinejad Majid Emtiazy 2017Journal of Integrative Medicine2017,15,5:3
12Use of amino silane coupling agent to improve physical and mechanical properties of UF-bonded wheat straw(Triticum aestivum L.) poplar wood particleboard显示文摘We evaluated the potential use of amino silane coupling agent(Si NH) to improve physical and mechanical properties of UF-bonded wheat straw(Triticum aestivum L.) poplar wood particleboard. We examined the effects of varied content of silane coupling agent content and ratios of straw to poplar wood particles on particleboard properties. The ratios of straw to poplar wood particles were100:0, 85:15, 70:30 and 55:45. Silane coupling agent content was tested at three levels, 0, 5 and 10 %. The experimental panels were tested for their mechanical strength, including modulus of elasticity(MOE), modulus of rupture(MOR), internal bonding(IB) and physical properties according to procedures specified in DIN 68763(Chipboard for special purposes in building construction:concepts, requirements, testing, 1982–03, 1982). All board properties were improved by the addition of silane coupling agent. 14Petrogenesis of Middle-Eocene granitoids and their Mafic microgranular enclaves in central Urmia-Dokhtar Magmatic Arc(Iran): Evidence for interaction between felsic and mafic magmas显示文摘Whole rock major and trace element geochemistry together with zircon U-Pb ages and Sr-Nd isotope compositions for the Middle Eocene intrusive rocks in the Haji Abad region are presented. The granitoid hosts, including granodiorite and diorite, yielded zircon U-Pb ages with a weighted mean value of 40.0 ± 0.7 Ma for the granodiorite phase. Mafic microgranular enclaves(MMEs) are common in these plutons, and have relatively low SiO_2 contents(53.04-57.08 wt.%) and high Mg#(42.6-60.1), probably reflecting a mantle-derived origin. The host rocks are metaluminous(A/CNK = 0.69-1.03), arc-related calc-alkaline, and I-type in composition, possessing higher SiO_2 contents(59.7-66.77 wt.%) and lower Mg#(38.6-52.2); they are considered a product of partial melting of the mafic lower crust. Chondritenormalized REE patterns of the MMEs and granitoid hosts are characterized by LREE enrichment and show slight negative Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu* = 0.60-0.93). The host granodiorite samples yield(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr);ratios ranging from 0.70498 to 0.70591,positive eNd(t) values varying from +0.21 to +2.3, and TDM2 ranging from 760 to 909 Ma, which is consistent with that of associated mafic microgranular enclaves(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)i = 0.705111-0.705113, ε_(Nd)(t)= +2.14 to +2.16, T_(DM2) = 697-785 Ma). 15Pushover analysis of asymmetric-plan buildings based on distribution of the combined modal story shear and torsional moment显示文摘A pushover procedure with a load pattern based on the height-wise distribution of the combined modal story shear and torsional moment is proposed to estimate the seismic response of 3D asymmetric-plan building frames. Contribution of the higher modes and torsional response of asymmetric-plan buildings are incorporated into the proposed load pattern. The proposed pushover method is a single-run procedure, which enables tracing the nonlinear response of the structure during the analysis and averts the elusiveness of conducting multiple pushover analyses. The proposed method has been used to estimate the response of two moment-resisting building frames with 9 and 20 stories. 17Woody Species Diversity and Forest Structure from Lowland to Montane Forest in Hyrcanian Forest Ecoregion显示文摘Alborz Mountains host Caspian Hyrcanian forest ecoregion along the northern slopes and forest steppe ecoregion in highlands. Hyrcanian forest covers the southeastern part of Caucasus biodiversity hotspot and is of great biogeographic importance. Altitudinal pattern and correlation between woody species biodiversity (DIV), forest structure ((stem density (DEN), mean basal area (MBA) and mean height class (MHC)) and disturbance (DIS) were explored along 2,400 m altitudinal gradient in Hyrcanian relict forest, Central Alborz Mountains. Vegetation changes from lowland forest (LoF) to mid- altitude forest (MiF) and montane forest (MoF) in this area. The altitudinal gradient was divided into twelve 200 m elevational belts. Point centered quarter method (PCQM) with 96 sampling points and 83 vegetation samples by plot method (PM) were used to record field data. Shannon-Wiener index and Pearson coefficient were used for diversity and correlation analysis. The results showed that DEN decreased linearly, MBA and MHC showed relatively hump shaped and DIS showed a reverse hump shaped pattern of change along altitudinal gradient. Woody species diversity decreased non-steadily from LoF to MoF. Transitional vegetations of Carpinus-Fagus and Fagus-Quercus represented higher diversity of woody taxa compared to adjacent homogenous communities. Significant correlation was observed between altitude and all parameters: DEN with MBA, DIS and DIV; MBA with DIS; MHC with DIS along with DIV; and DIS with DIV at the study area scale. Surprisingly,correlation between studied parameters differed within each vegetation type. Altitude probably acts as a proxy for human and environmental driving forces in this area. Stability of warm and wet condition, season length, soil depth along with forest accessibility probably influences the altitudinal pattern of the studied parameters. Disturbance affects forest structure and consequently diversity; especially in lowlands. 18Development of a Circuit-theory Based Transmission Cost Allocation Method by Orthogonal Projection and Equal-sharing Principle显示文摘This paper presents a new solution to the problem of transmission cost allocation to its users.The proposed technique utilizes modified Z-bus theory,equivalent current injection and impedance of the generators and loads,and is developed by the equal-sharing as well as the orthogonal projection principle.The procedure is performed in three steps.First,the modified Z-bus theory is used to calculate the contribution of the users into the network bus voltages as well as the branch currents.Then,the equal sharing principle is confirmed by the game theory solutions and is subsequently applied to identify the users’contributions into the branch power flows.After that,the orthogonal projections of the contributions are calculated and the concept of effective contributions is suggested.The proposed methodology provides the percentage shares of the users on the network complex variables,which help to better assess the contributions.A 2-bus and the IEEE 30-bus test system are used to validate the proposed technique.Finally,the proposed methodology is applied to the polish 2383-bus system to emphasize its applicability to large practical systems.Saeid Pouyafar Mehrdad Tarafdar Hagh Kazem Zare 2019CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2019,5,2:2
