1Network Pharmacology in Research of Chinese Medicine Formula: Methodology, Application and Prospective显示文摘Chinese medicine(CM) is usually prescribed as CM formula to treat disease. The lack of effective research approach makes it difficult to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of CM formula owing to its complicated chemical compounds. Network pharmacology is increasingly applied in CM formula research in recent years, which is identified suitable for the study of CM formula. In this review, we summarized the methodology of network pharmacology, including network construction, network analysis and network verification. The aim of constructing a network is to achieve the interaction between the bioactive compounds and targets and the interaction between various targets, and then find out and validate the key nodes via network analysis and network verification. Besides, we reviewed the application in CM formula research, mainly including targets discovery, bioactive compounds screening, toxicity evaluation, mechanism research and quality control research. 2Cytological analysis and genetic control of rice anther development显示文摘Microsporogenesis and male gametogenesis are essential for the alternating life cycle of flowering plants between diploid sporophyte and haploid gametophyte generations.Rice(Oryza saliva) is the world's major staple food,and manipulation of pollen fertility is particularly important for the demands to increase rice grain yield.Towards a better understanding of the mechanisms controlling rice male reproductive development,we describe here the cytological changes of anther development through 14 stages,including cell division,differentiation and degeneration of somatic tissues consisting of four concentric cell layers surrounding and supporting reproductive cells as they form mature pollen grains through meiosis and mitosis.Furthermore,we compare the morphological difference of anthers and pollen grains in both monocot rice and eudicot Arabidopsis thaliana.Additionally,we describe the key genes identified to date critical for rice anther development and pollen formation.Dabing Zhang Xue Luo Lu Zhu 2011Journal of Genetics and Genomics2011,38,9:56

4Epalrestat protects against diabetic peripheral neuropathy by alleviating oxidative stress and inhibiting polyol pathway显示文摘Epalrestat is a noncompetitive and reversible aldose reductase inhibitor used for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy. This study assumed that epalrestat had a protective effect on diabetic peripheral nerve injury by suppressing the expression of aldose reductase in peripheral nerves of diabetes mellitus rats. The high-fat and high-carbohydrate model rats were established by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin. Peripheral neuropathy occurred in these rats after sustaining high blood glucose for 8 weeks. At 12 weeks after streptozotocin injection, rats were intragastrically administered epalrestat 100 mg/kg daily for 6 weeks. Transmission electron microscope revealed that the injuries to myelinated nerve fibers, non-myelinated nerve fibers and Schwann cells of rat sciatic nerves had reduced compared to rats without epalrestat administuation. Western blot assay and immunohistochemical results demonstrated that after intervention with epalrestat, the activities of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase gradually increased, but aldose reductase protein expression gradually diminished. 6Design and engineering implementation of non-supplementary fired compressed air energy storage system: TICC-500显示文摘The integration and accommodation of the wind and solar energy pose great challenges on today’s power system operation due to the intermittent nature and volatility of the wind and solar resources.High efficient large-scale electrical energy storage is one of the most effective and economical solutions to those problems.After the comprehensive review of the existing storage technologies,this paper proposes an overall design scheme for the Non-supplementary Fired Compressed Air Energy Storage(NFCAES)system,including system design,modeling and efficiency assessment,as well as protection and control.Especially,the design principles of the multistage regenerative,i.e.heat recovery system which is used to fully recycle and utilize the waste heat from compression are provided,so as the overall system efficiency evaluation method.This paper theoretically ascertains the storage decoupling rules in the potential and internal energy of molecular compressed air and reveals the conversion mechanism of gas,heat,power,electricity and other forms of energy.On this basis,a 500-k W physical simulation system of CAES system(TICC-500,Tsinghua-IPCCAS-CEPRI-CAES)is built,which passed a system-wide 420-k W load power generation test with less pollution and zero carbon emissions.Besides,the multi-form energy conversion of multi-stage regenerative CAES and storage efficiency is verified,especially its incomparable superiority in solving the uncertainty problem in wind and solar power generation.Finally,the propaganda and application scenario of the CAES system in China is introduced.MEI Sheng Wei WANG Jun Jie TIAN Fang CHEN Lai Jun XUE Xiao Dai LU Qiang ZHOU Yuan ZHOU Xiao Xin 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,4:37
7Droid Detector:Android Malware Characterization and Detection Using Deep Learning显示文摘Smartphones and mobile tablets are rapidly becoming indispensable in daily life. Android has been the most popular mobile operating system since 2012. However, owing to the open nature of Android, countless malwares are hidden in a large number of benign apps in Android markets that seriously threaten Android security. Deep learning is a new area of machine learning research that has gained increasing attention in artificial intelligence. In this study, we propose to associate the features from the static analysis with features from dynamic analysis of Android apps and characterize malware using deep learning techniques. We implement an online deep-learning-based Android malware detection engine(Droid Detector) that can automatically detect whether an app is a malware or not. With thousands of Android apps, we thoroughly test Droid Detector and perform an indepth analysis on the features that deep learning essentially exploits to characterize malware. The results show that deep learning is suitable for characterizing Android malware and especially effective with the availability of more training data. Droid Detector can achieve 96.76% detection accuracy, which outperforms traditional machine learning techniques. 8Metastatic human hepatocellular carcinoma models in nude mice and cell line with metastatic potential显示文摘Metastatic human HCC model is needed for the studies on mechanism and intervention of metastatic recurrence. By using orthotopic implantation of histologically intact tissues of 30 surgical specimens, a patient like metastatic model of human HCC in nude mice (LCI-D20)and a Iow metastatic model of human HCC in nude mice LCI-D35 ) have been established. All mice with transplanted LCI-D20 tumors exhibited extremely high metastatic ability including spontaneous metastasis to liver, lungs, lymph nodes and peritoneal seeding.Remarkable difference was also found in expression of some of the invasiveness related genes and growth factors between the LCI-D20 and LCI-D35 tumors. PAI-Iincreased gradually following tumor progression in LCID20 model, and correlated with tumor size and AFP level,Phasic expression of tissue intercellular adhesion molecule-I in this model was also observed. Using corneal micropocket model, it was demonstrated that the vascular response induced by LCI-D20 tumor was stronger than that induced by LCI-D35 tumor. Similar report on metastatic human HCC model in nude mice and human HCC cell line with metastatic potential was rarely found in the literature. 11The Association of Maternal Body Composition and Dietary Intake with the Risk of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus during the Second Trimester in a Cohort of Chinese Pregnant Women显示文摘Objective To investigate the association of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM). Methods A total 154 GDM subjects and 981 controls were enrolled in a prospective cohort study in 11 hospitals from May 20, 2012 to December 31, 2013. Bioelectrical impedance analysis and dietary surveys were used to determine body composition and to evaluate the intake of nutrients in subjects at 21-24 weeks' gestation(WG). Logistic regression analysis was applied to explore the relationships of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of GDM morbidity. Results Age, pre-pregnant body weight(BW), and body mass index(BMI) were associated with increased risk of GDM. Fat mass(FM), fat mass percentage(FMP), extracellular water(ECW), BMI, BW, energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates at 21-24 WG were associated with an increased risk of GDM. In contrast, fat free mass(FFM), muscular mass(MM), and intracellular water(ICW) were associated with a decreased risk of GDM. 12Effect of lifestyle intervention on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in Chinese obese children显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of lifestyle intervention on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in Chinese obese children. METHODS: Seventy-six obese children aged from 10 to 17 years with NAFLD were enrolled for a one-month intervention and divided randomly into three groups. Group1, consisting of 38 obese children, was an untreated control group without any intervention. Group 2, consisting of 19 obese children in summer camp, was strictly controlled only by life style intervention. Group 3, consisting of 19 obese children, received oral vitamin E therapy at a dose of 100 mg/d. The height, weight, fasting blood glucose (FBG), fasting serum insulin (FINS), plasma alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TCHO) and homeostasis model assent- insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) were measured at baseline and after one month. All patients were underwent to an ultrasonographic study of the liver performed by one operator who was blinded to the groups. RESULTS: The monitor indices of BMI, ALT, AST, TG, TCHO and HOMA-IR were successfully improved except in group 1. BMI and ALT in group 2 were reduced more significantly than in group 3 (2.44 ± 0.82 vs 1.45 ± 0.80, P = 0.001; 88.58 ± 39.99 vs 63.69 ± 27.05, P = 0.040, respectively).CONCLUSION: Both a short-term lifestyle intervention and vitamin E therapy have an effect on NAFLD in obese children. Compared with vitamin E, lifestyle intervention is more effective. 13The linkage maps of Dendrobium species based on RAPD and SRAP markers显示文摘Dendrobium plants are used commonly as tonic herbs and health food in many Asian countries,especially in China.Here we report the genetic map construction of two Dendrobium species with a double pseudo-testcross strategy using random amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD) and sequence-related amplified polymorphism(SRAP) markers.A F1 mapping population of 90 individuals was developed from a cross between D.officinale and D.hercoglossum.A total of 307 markers,including 209 RAPD and 98 SRAP,were identified and used for genetic linkage group(LG) analysis.The D.officinale linkage map consisted of 11 major linkage groups and 3 doublets,which covered 629.4 cM by a total of 62 markers with an average locus distance of 11.2 cM between two adjacent markers.The D.hercoglossum linkage map contained 112 markers mapped on 15 major and 4 minor linkage groups,spanning a total length of 1,304.6 cM with an average distance of 11.6 cM between two adjacent markers.The maps constructed in this study covered 92.7% and 82.7% of the D.hercoglossum and D.officinale genomes respectively,providing an important basis for the mapping of horticultural and medicinal traits and for the application of marker-assisted selection in Dendrobium breeding program.Dawei Xue Shangguo Feng Hongyan Zhao Hua Jiang Bo Shen Nongnong Shi Jiangjie Lu Junjun Liu Huizhong Wang 2010Journal of Genetics and Genomics2010,37,3:26

15Neuroprotection of aucubin in primary diabetic encephalopathy显示文摘Hippocampal neuronal apoptosis accompanied by impairment of cognitive function occurs in primary diabetic encephalopathy. In this study, we investigated the neuroprotective mechanism of the iridoid glycoside, aucubin, using rats (n=8). Diabetes mellitus was induced in the rats by intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of streptozotocin (60 mg/kg body weight). After 65 d, half of the DM rats were administered aucubin (5 mg/kg; i.p.) for 15 d, yielding treatment DM+A. A third group of rats received no strepto- zotocin or aucibin, and served as controls (CON). Encephalopathy was assessed using Y-maze be- havioral testing. Rats were euthanized on Day 87, and hippocampi were excised for visual (light and transmission electron microscopic) and immunochemical (Western blot; immunohistochemical) as- sessments of the CA1 subfield for apoptosis and expression of regulatory proteins Bcl-2 and Bax. Treatment responses to all the parameters examined (body weight, plasma glucose, Y-maze error rates, pyramidal cell ultrastructure, proportions of apoptotic cells, levels of expression of Bcl-2 and Bax, and survivability of neuronal cells) were identical: there were highly significant differences between DM and CON groups (P<0.001), but the effects were significantly moderated (P<0.01) in DM+A compared with DM. These findings confirm the association of apoptosis with the encephalopathic effects of diabetes mellitus, and suggest a major role of the expression levels of Bcl-2 and Bax in the regulation of apop- totic cell death. 16Preoperative diagnosis of malignant pulmonary nodules in lung cancer screening with a radiomics nomogram显示文摘Background:Lung cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide.Its survival rate can be significantly improved by early screening.Biomarkers based on radiomics features have been found to provide important physiological information on tumors and considered as having the potential to be used in the early screening of lung cancer.In this study,we aim to establish a radiomics model and develop a tool to improve the discrimination between benign and malignant pulmonary nodules.Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on 875 patients with benign or malignant pulmonary nodules who underwent computed tomography(CT)examinations between June 2013 and June 2018.We assigned 612 patients to a training cohort and 263 patients to a validation cohort.Radiomics features were extracted from the CT images of each patient.Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)was used for radiomics feature selection and radiomics score calculation.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to develop a classification model and radiomics nomogram.Radiomics score and clinical variables were used to distinguish benign and malignant pulmonary nodules in logistic model.The performance of the radiomics nomogram was evaluated by the area under the curve(AUC),calibration curve and Hosmer-Lemeshow test in both the training and validation cohorts.Results:A radiomics score was built and consisted of 20 features selected by LASSO from 1288 radiomics features in the training cohort.The multivariate logistic model and radiomics nomogram were constructed using the radiomics score and patients’age.Good discrimination of benign and malignant pulmonary nodules was obtained from the training cohort(AUC,0.836;95%confidence interval[CI]:0.793-0.879)and validation cohort(AUC,0.809;95%CI:0.745-0.872).The Hosmer-Lemeshow test also showed good performance for the logistic regression model in the training cohort(P=0.765)and validation cohort(P=0.064).Good alignment with the calibration curve indicated the good performance of the nomogram.Conclusions:The established radiomics nomogram is a noninvasive preoperative prediction tool for malignant pulmonary nodule diagnosis.Validation revealed that this nomogram exhibited excellent discrimination and calibration capacities,suggesting its clinical utility in the early screening of lung cancer.Ailing Liu Zhiheng Wang Yachao Yang Jingtao Wang Xiaoyu Dai Lijie Wang Yuan Lu Fuzhong Xue 2020Cancer Communications2020,40,1:22

18Variation of head and facial morphological characteristics with increased age of Han in Southern China显示文摘We investigated 13940 (6735 male, 7250 female) adult head and facial physical attributes from 19 different Han ethnic groups in 10 southern-China provinces, and calculated 12 head and facial indexes. Indexes were used to analyze the variation of head and facial morphological characteristics with increased age. Results showed that as age increases: (1) Head breadth, minimum frontal breadth, face breadth, interocular breadth, external biocular breadth, lip height, lip thickness, head circumference, auricular height, length-breadth head index, length-height head index, and lip-index values decline significantly in a linear fashion. 19Recurrence of Helicobacter pylori infection:incidence and influential factors显示文摘Background:Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)eradication has been widely used.The recurrence rate of H.pylori after eradication and its related factors are gaining more and more attention.Our study aimed to determine the recurrence rate of H.pylori infection after successful eradication,and analyze its influential factors.Methods:We prospectively studied 1050 patients with upper gastrointestinal symptoms who were diagnosed as H.pylori infection by gastroscopy and underwent eradication therapies from April 2013 to January 2014.The 13C-urea breath test(UBT)or Warthin-Starry(WS)staining was done at 8 to 12 weeks after the therapy.Patients with successful eradication were followed by repeated UBT or gastroscopy at one year and 3 years after therapy,as well as,questionnaire surveys.Recurrence was considered if the UBTs or WS staining of biopsy were positive.One-year and 3-year recurrence rates were calculated,and analyzed the differences between recurred patients and others in basic data,socio logical characteristics,lifestyle.Results:A total of 743 patients finished the 1-year follow-up,and the 1-year recurrence rate was 1.75%.Of the 607 patients who finished the 3-year follow-up,28 patients recurred,and the 3-year recurrence rate was 4.61%.Analysis of variance showed that lowincome,poor hygiene condition of dining out place,and receiving invasive diagnoses or treatments were significant risk factors for H.pylori infection recurrence.Logistic regression analysis demonstrated that the combination of invasive diagnoses or treatments,the level of income,and the hygiene standard of dining out place were significant and independent influential factors of the recurrence of H.pylori.Conclusions:The 1-year and 3-year recurrence rates of H.pylori infection after eradication therapy are 1.75%and 4.61%.Lowincome,poor hygiene condition of dining out place,and a combination of invasive diagnoses or treatments are independent risk factors of H.pylori recurrence.Yan Xue Li-Ya Zhou Hao-Ping Lu Jin-Zhe Liu 2019Chinese Medical Journal2019,,7:18
