1Enhanced light-matter interactions in dielectric nanostructures via machine-learning approach显示文摘A key concept underlying the specific functionalities of metasurfaces is the use of constituent components to shape the wavefront of the light on demand.Metasurfaces are versatile,novel platforms for manipulating the scattering,color,phase,or intensity of light.Currently,one of the typical approaches for designing a metasurface is to optimize one or two variables among a vast number of fixed parameters,such as various materials’properties and coupling effects,as well as the geometrical parameters.Ideally,this would require multidimensional space optimization through direct numerical simulations.Recently,an alternative,popular approach allows for reducing the computational cost significantly based on a deep-learning-assisted method.We utilize a deep-learning approach for obtaining high-quality factor(high-Q)resonances with desired characteristics,such as linewidth,amplitude,and spectral position.We exploit such high-Q resonances for enhancedlight–matter interaction in nonlinearoptical metasurfaces and optomechanical vibrations,simultaneously.We demonstrate that optimized metasurfaces achieve up to 400-fold enhancement of the third-harmonic generation;at the same time,they also contribute to 100-fold enhancement of the amplitude of optomechanical vibrations.This approach can be further used to realize structures with unconventional scattering responses.Lei Xu Mohsen Rahmani Yixuan Ma Daria ASmirnova Khosro Zangeneh Kamali Fu Deng Yan Kei Chiang Lujun Huang Haoyang Zhang Stephen Gould Dragomir N.Neshev Andrey E.Miroshnichenko 2020Advanced Photonics2020,2,2:8
2Two-Stage Hydrogenation Modification of C_9 Petroleum Resin over NiWS/γ-Al_2O_3 and PdRu/γ-Al_2O_3 Catalysts in Series显示文摘Hydrogenation modification is one of the most important ways to produce high-quality petroleum resin.The colorless C9 petroleum resin(C9PR) was obtained by two-stage catalytic hydrogenation over NiWS/γ-Al2O3 catalyst and PdRu/γ-Al2O3 catalyst connected in series.Via the hydrogenation reaction,aromatic rings in C9PR were converted to alicyclic rings,and its color was reduced from Gardner color grade No.11 to Gardner color grade No.0.The optimum Ni/W atomic ratio was found to be close to 0.23,while the optimum Pd/Ru atomic ratio was close to 3.80.The TEM results showed that the morphology and size of sulfide or metal particles of the two kinds of catalysts remained almost unchanged after the reaction was carried our for 1 204 hours,attesting to their good catalytic stability.Yu Lujun Jiang Dahao Xu Jiao Ma Lei Li Xiaonian 2012China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2012,14,3:7

6Ultrasound delivery of Chinese rhubarb promotes early recovery of gastrointestinal function after gastrectomy:a prospective randomized controlled study显示文摘Objective: Chinese rhubarb is a promising Chinese medicine for the promotion of gastrointestinal function. This study was conducted to investigate the safety and efficacy of Chinese rhubarb administered via ultrasound delivery in promoting the early recovery of gastrointestinal function after gastrectomy.Methods: In this prospective randomized controlled study, 100 patients who were scheduled to undergo total or subtotal gastrectomy in Changzhi People’s Hospital or Subei People’s Hospital from August 2017 to January 2018 were recruited. These patients were randomly assigned into two equal groups before surgery: 50 in the experimental (Chinese rhubarb) group, and 50 in the control (routine nursing) group. After surgery, time to flatus, bowel movement, clear liquid diet, and removal of nasogastric tube were recorded and analyzed. In addition, postoperative pain, postoperative bowel movement-related complications, and postoperative hospital stay duration were also recorded and analyzed. The study was approved by The protocol was approved by the Institutional Review Board of Changzhi People’s Hospital and Subei People’s Hospital on July 1, 2017 and registered with the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry on December 17, 2018 (registration number: ChiCTR1800020143).Results: Time to flatus (control group 85.68±22.00 hours vs experimental group 73.06±23.42 hours;P=0.007), bowel movement (5.52±1.56 vs 4.40±1.21 days;P<0.001), clear liquid diet (6.72±1.16 vs 6.22±1.28 days;P=0.044), and removal of nasogastric tube (6.30±1.52 vs 5.65±1.58 days;P=0.044) were significantly shorter in the experimental group compared with the control group, as was the postoperative hospital stay duration (14.30±3.46 vs 12.86±1.36 days;P=0.006). 7Characteristics of Lake Breezes and Their Impacts on Energy and Carbon Fluxes in Mountainous Areas显示文摘In mountainous lake areas, lake–land and mountain–valley breezes interact with each other, leading to an 'extended lake breeze'. These extended lake breezes can regulate and control energy and carbon cycles at different scales. Based on meteorological and turbulent fluxes data from an eddy covariance observation site at Erhai Lake in the Dali Basin,southwest China, characteristics of daytime and nighttime extended lake breezes and their impacts on energy and carbon dioxide exchange in 2015 are investigated. Lake breezes dominate during the daytime while, due to different prevailing circulations at night, there are two types of nighttime breezes. The mountain breeze from the Cangshan Mountain range leads to N1 type nighttime breeze events. When a cyclonic circulation forms and maintains in the southern part of Erhai Lake at night, its northern branch contributes to the formation of N2 type nighttime breeze events. The prevailing wind directions for daytime, N1, and N2 breeze events are southeast, west, and southeast, respectively. Daytime breeze events are more intense than N1 events and weaker than N2 events. During daytime breeze events, the lake breeze decreases the sensible heat flux(Hs) and carbon dioxide flux(F_(CO_2)) and increases the latent heat flux(LE). During N1 breeze events, the mountain breeze decreases Hs and LE and increases F_(CO_2). 9Third-harmonic generation and imaging with resonant Si membrane metasurface显示文摘Dielectric metasurfaces play an increasingly important role in enhancing optical nonlinear generations owing to their ability to support strong light-matter interactions based on Mie-type multipolar resonances.Compared to metasurfaces composed of the periodic arrangement of nanoparticles,inverse,so-called,membrane metasurfaces offer unique possibilities for supporting multipolar resonances,while maintaining small unit cell size,large mode volume and high field enhancement for enhancing nonlinear frequency conversion.Here,we theoretically and experimentally investigate the formation of bound states in the continuum(BICs)from silicon dimer-hole membrane metasurfaces.We demonstrate that our BIC-formed resonance features a strong and tailorable electric near-field confinement inside the silicon membrane films.Furthermore,we show that by tuning the gap between the holes,one can open a leaky channel to transform these regular BICs into quasi-BICs,which can be excited directly under normal plane wave incidence.To prove the capabilities of such metasurfaces,we demonstrate the conversion of an infrared image to the visible range,based on the Third-harmonic generation(THG)process with the resonant membrane metasurfaces.Our results suggest a new paradigm for realising efficient nonlinear photonics metadevices and hold promise for extending the applications of nonlinear structuring surfaces to new types of all-optical near-infrared imaging technologies.Ze Zheng Lei Xu Lujun Huang Daria Smirnova Khosro Zangeneh Kamali Arman Yousefi Fu Deng Rocio Camacho-Morales Cuifeng Ying Andrey E.Miroshnichenko Dragomir N.Neshev Mohsen Rahmani 2023Opto-Electronic Advances2023,6,8:0
10Combining quantitative and qualitative magnetic resonance imaging features to differentiate anorectal malignant melanoma from low rectal cancer显示文摘Background:Distinguishing anorectal malignant melanoma from low rectal cancer remains challenging because of the overlap of clinical symptoms and imaging findings.We aim to investigate whether combining quantitative and qualitative magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)features could differentiate anorectal malignant melanoma from low rectal cancer.Methods:Thirty-seven anorectal malignant melanoma and 98 low rectal cancer patients who underwent preoperative rectal MRI from three hospitals were retrospectively enrolled.All patients were divided into the primary cohort(N=84)and validation cohort(N=51).Quantitative image analysiswas performed on T1-weighted(T1WI),T2-weighted(T2WI),and contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging(CE-T1WI).The subjective qualitative MRI findings were evaluated by two radiologists in consensus.Multivariable analysis was performed using stepwise logistic regression.The discrimination performance was assessed by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)with a 95%confidence interval(CI).Results:The skewness derived from T2WI(T2WI-skewness)showed the best discrimination performance among the entire quantitative image features for differentiating anorectal malignant melanoma from low rectal cancer(primary cohort:AUC=0.852,95%CI 0.788–0.916;validation cohort:0.730,0.645–0.815).Multivariable analysis indicated that T2WI-skewness and the signal intensity of T1WI were independent factors,and incorporating both factors achieved good discrimination performance in two cohorts(primary cohort:AUC=0.913,95%CI 0.868–0.958;validation cohort:0.902,0.844–0.960).Conclusions:Incorporating T2WI-skewness and the signal intensity of T1WI achieved good performance for differentiating anorectal malignant melanoma from low rectal cancer.The quantitative image analysis helps improve diagnostic accuracy.Zeyan Xu Ke Zhao Lujun Han Pinxiong Li Zhenwei Shi Xiaomei Huang Chu Han Huihui Wang Minglei Chen Chen Liu Yanting Liang Suyun Li Yanqi Huang Xin Chen Changhong Liang Wuteng Cao Zaiyi Liu 2021Precision Clinical Medicine2021,4,2:0
11Bound states in the continuum in all-dielectric metasurfaces with scaled lattice constants显示文摘Bound states in the continuum(BICs)have emerged as an efficient tool for trapping light at the nanoscale,promising several exciting applications in photonics.Breaking the structural symmetry has been proposed as an effective way of exciting quasiBICs(QBICs)and generating high-Q resonances.Herein,we demonstrate that QBICs can be excited in an all-dielectric metasurface by scaling the lattice of the metasurface,causing translational symmetry breaking.The corresponding BICs arise from band folding from the band edge to the Γ point in the first Brillouin zone.Multipole analysis reveals that the toroidal dipole dominates these QBICs.Furthermore,scaling the lattice along different directions provides additional freedom for tailoring QBICs,enabling polarization-dependent or-independent QBICs.In addition,this allows the realization of two QBICs at different wavelengths using plane-wave illumination with different polarizations on the metasurface.We experimentally demonstrated the existence of these BICs by fabricating silicon metasurfaces with scaled lattices and measuring their transmission spectra.The vanished resonant linewidth identifies BICs in the transmission spectrum,and the QBICs are characterized by highQ Fano resonances with the Q-factor reaching 2000.Our results have potential applications in enhancing light-matter interaction,such as laser,nonlinear harmonic generation,and strong coupling.Mimi Zhou Shaojun You Lei Xu Menghui Fan Jing Huang Wenbin Ma Mingzhe Hu Shengyun Luo Mohsen Rahmani Ya Cheng Lin Li Chaobiao Zhou Lujun Huang Andrey E.Miroshnichenko 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,12:0
128-Oxoguanine DNA glycosylase protects cells from senescence via the p53-p21 pathway显示文摘Cellular senescence is an important factor leading to pulmonary fibrosis.Deficiency of 8-oxoguanine DNA glyco-sylase(OGG1)in mice leads to alleviation of bleomycin(BLM)-induced mouse pulmonary fibrosis,and inhibition of the OGG1 enzyme reduces the epithelial mesenchymal transition(EMT)in lung cells.In the present study,we find decreased expression of OGG1 in aged mice and BLM-induced cell senescence.In addition,a decrease in OGG1 expression results in cell senescence,such as increases in the percentage of SA-β-gal-positive cells,and in the p21 and p-H2AX protein levels in response to BLM in lung cells.Furthermore,OGG1 promotes cell transformation in A549 cells in the presence of BLM.We also find that OGG1 siRNA impedes cell cycle progression and inhibits the levels of telomerase reverse transcriptase(TERT)and LaminB1 in BLM-treated lung cells.The increase in OGG1 expression results in the opposite phenomenon.The mRNA levels of senescence-associated secretory phenotype(SASP)components,including IL-1α,IL-1β,IL-6,IL-8,CXCL1/CXCL2,and MMP-3,in the absence of OGG1 are obviously increased in A549 cells treated with BLM.Interestingly,we demonstrate that OGG1 binds to p53 to inhibit the activation of p53 and that silencing of p53 reverses the inhibition of OGG1 on senescence in lung cells.Ad-ditionally,the augmented cell senescence is shown in vivo in OGG1-deficient mice.Overall,we provide direct evidence in vivo and in vitro that OGG1 plays an important role in protecting tissue cells against aging associated withthep53pathway.Shenglan Gao Lujun Chen Ziying Lin Zhiliang Xu Yahong Wang Huayu Ling Zijun Wu Yu Yin Weimin Yao Keng Wu Gang Liu 2024Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2024,56,2:0
13RNA-sequencing analysis reveals novel genes involved in the different peel color formation in eggplant显示文摘Eggplant(Solanum melongena L.)is a highly nutritious vegetable.Here,the molecular mechanism of color formation in eggplants was determined using six eggplant cultivars with different peel colors and two SmMYB113-overexpressing transgenic eggplants with a purple peel and pulp.Significant differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified by RNA-sequencing analysis using the following criteria:log2(sample1/sample2)≥0.75 and q-value≤0.05.Two analytical strategies were used to identify genes related to the different peel color according to the peel color,flavonoids content,delphinidins/flavonoids ratio,and the content of anthocyanins.Finally,27 novel genes were identified to be related to the color difference among eggplant peels and 32 novel genes were identified to be related to anthocyanin biosynthesis and regulated by SmMYB113.Venn analysis revealed that SmCytb5,SmGST,SmMATE,SmASAT3,and SmF3′5’M were shared among both sets of novel genes.Transient expression assay in tobacco suggested that these five genes were not sufficient for inducing anthocyanin biosynthesis alone,but they play important roles in anthocyanin accumulation in eggplant peels.Yeast one-hybrid,electrophoretic mobility shift assay and dual-luciferase assays indicated that the expression of the five genes could be directly activated by SmMYB113 protein.Finally,a regulatory model for the mechanism of color formation in eggplant was proposed.Overall,the results of this study provide useful information that enhances our understanding of the molecular mechanism underlying the different color formation in eggplant.Jing Li Senlin Jiang Guobin Yang Yanwei Xu Lujun Li Fengjuan Yang 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,10:0
14Part-Whole Relational Few-Shot 3D Point Cloud Semantic Segmentation显示文摘This paper focuses on the task of few-shot 3D point cloud semantic segmentation.Despite some progress,this task still encounters many issues due to the insufficient samples given,e.g.,incomplete object segmentation and inaccurate semantic discrimination.To tackle these issues,we first leverage part-whole relationships into the task of 3D point cloud semantic segmentation to capture semantic integrity,which is empowered by the dynamic capsule routing with the module of 3D Capsule Networks(CapsNets)in the embedding network.Concretely,the dynamic routing amalgamates geometric information of the 3D point cloud data to construct higher-level feature representations,which capture the relationships between object parts and their wholes.Secondly,we designed a multi-prototype enhancement module to enhance the prototype discriminability.Specifically,the single-prototype enhancement mechanism is expanded to the multi-prototype enhancement version for capturing rich semantics.Besides,the shot-correlation within the category is calculated via the interaction of different samples to enhance the intra-category similarity.Ablation studies prove that the involved part-whole relations and proposed multi-prototype enhancement module help to achieve complete object segmentation and improve semantic discrimination.Moreover,under the integration of these two modules,quantitative and qualitative experiments on two public benchmarks,including S3DIS and ScanNet,indicate the superior performance of the proposed framework on the task of 3D point cloud semantic segmentation,compared to some state-of-the-art methods.Shoukun Xu Lujun Zhang Guangqi Jiang Yining Hua Yi Liu 2024Computers, Materials & Continua2024,78,3:0
15Continuous cropping of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) reduces bacterial diversity and simplifies cooccurrence networks in aeolian sandy soil显示文摘Alfalfa is a perennial herbaceous forage legume that is remarkably and negatively affected by monocropping.However,the contribution of the changes in bacterial communities to soil sickness in alfalfa have not been elucidated.Therefore,we investigated bacterial community structures in response to monocropped alfalfa along the chronosequence.Continuous cropping remarkably reduced bacterial alpha diversity and altered community structures,and soil pH,total P and available P were strongly associated with the changes of bacterial diversity and community structures.Intriguingly,10 years of monocropped alfalfa might be a demarcation point separating soil bacterial community structures into two obvious groups that containing soil samples collected in less and more than 10 years.The relative abundances of copiotrophic bacteria of Actinobacteria and Gammaproteobacteria significantly increased with the extension of continuous cropping years,while the oligotrophic bacteria of Armatimonadetes,Chloroflexi,Firmicutes and Gemmatimonadetes showed the opposite changing patterns.Among those altered phyla,Actinobacteria,Chloroflexi,Alphaproteobacteria and Acidobacteria were the most important bacteria which contributed 50.86%of the community variations. Additionally, the relative abundances of nitrogen fixation bacteria ofBradyrhizobium and Mesorhizobium obviously increased with continuous cropping years, while theabundances of Arthrobacter, Bacillus, Burkholderiaceae and Microbacterium with potential functionsof solubilizing phosphorus and potassium remarkably decreased after long-term continuouscropping. Furthermore, bacterial cooccurrence patterns were significantly influenced by continuouscropping years, with long-term monocropped alfalfa simplifying the complexity of the cooccurrencenetworks. 16Diverse bacterial populations of PM_(2.5) in urban and suburb Shanghai,China显示文摘Airborne bacteria play key roles in terrestrial and marine ecosystems and human health,yet our understanding of bacterial communities and their response to the environmental variables lags significantly behind that of other components of PM_(2.5).Here,atmospheric fine particles obtained from urban and suburb Shanghai were analyzed by using the qPCR and Illumina Miseq sequencing.The bacteria with an average concentration of 2.12× 10^(3 )cells/m^(3),were dominated by Sphingomonas,Curvibacter,Acinetobacter,Bradyrhizobium,Methylobacterium,Halomonas,Aliihoeflea,and Phyllobacterium,which were related to the nitrogen,carbon,sulfur cycling and human health risk.Our results provide a global survey of bacterial community across urban,suburb,and high-altitude sites.In Shanghai(China),urban PM2.5 harbour more diverse and dynamic bacterial populations than that in the suburb.The structural equation model explained about 27%,41%,and 20%^78%of the variance found in bacteria diversity,concentration,and discrepant genera among urban and suburb sites.This work furthered the knowledge of diverse bacteria in a coastal Megacity in the Yangtze river delta and emphasized the potential impact of environmental variables on bacterial community structure.Caihong Xu Jianmin Chen Zhikai Wang Hui Chen Hao Feng Lujun Wang Yuning Xie Zhenzhen Wang Xingnan Ye Haidong Kan Zhuohui Zhao Abdelwahid Mellouki 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,3:0
17Transient axonal glycoprotein-1 induces apoptosisrelated gene expression without triggering apoptosis in U251 glioma cells显示文摘Previous studies show that transient axonal glycoprotein-1, a ligand of amyloid precursor protein, increases the secretion of amyloid precursor protein intracellular domain and is involved in apoptosis in Alzheimer's disease. In this study, we examined the effects of transient axonal glycoprotein-1 on U251 glioma cells. 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay showed that transient axonal glycoprotein-1 did not inhibit the proliferation of U251 cells, but promoted cell viability. The terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling assay showed that transient axonal glycoprotein-1 did not induce U251 cell apoptosis. Real-time PCR revealed that transient axonal glycoprotein-1 substantially upregulated levels of amyloid precursor protein intracellular C-terminal domain, and p53 and epidermal growth factor receptor mRNA expression. Thus, transient axonal glycoprotein-1 increased apoptosis-related gene expression in U251 cells without inducing apoptosis.
