1A coherence-based phase aberration correction method in medical ultrasound显示文摘A coherence-based correction method was proposed in order to improve the lateral resolution and enhance the contrast of medical ultrasound imaging in the presence of phase aberration.The averaged coherence factor was proposed at first and used as a metric to evaluate phase aberration correction.By maximizing the averaged coherence factor,the time delay parameter of each channel was adjusted.A new set of coherence factors was calculated and the corrected data was optimized to form the final B-mode image.The simulations on point targets and a cyst phantom showed that the proposed method outperformed the nearest neighboring cross correlation method and conventional coherence-weighting method,and the lateral resolution and contrast ratio was improved by approximately 0.24mm and 18dB respectively.The proposed method combined the advantages of phase error correction and coherence-weighting,which could improve imaging qualities effectively in medical ultrasound.XIA Xinyuan LI Ping WU Wentao MENG Xiaohui 2015Chinese Journal of Acoustics2015,34,3:7
2Versatile synthesis of yolk/shell hybrid nanocrystals via ion-exchange reactions for novel metal/semiconductor and semiconductor/semiconductor conformations显示文摘Yolk/shell (Y-S) hybrid nanoarchitectures, owing to the interior voids createdfor individualized catalyst applications, have emerged as new candidates foreffectively isolating catalytic species. However, the well-defined hollow interiorswith flexible core and shell compositions--such as noble-metal cores, metal-oxidecores, and widespread semiconductor shells--and a flexible anisotropic shapeare far from the requirements. In particular, the introduction of catalytic noblemetals or metal-oxide nanocrystals (NCs) with isotropic or anisotropic shapesinto various hollow semiconductor structures with well-defined morphologieshas been rarely reported but is urgently needed. 3100 Hertz frame-rate switching threedimensional orbital angular momentum multiplexing holography via cross convolution显示文摘The orbital angular momentum(OAM)of light has been implemented as an information carrier in OAM holography.Holographic information can be multiplexed in theoretical unbounded OAM channels,promoting the applications of optically addressable dynamic display and high-security optical encryption.However,the frame-rate of the dynamic extraction of the information reconstruction process in OAM holography is physically determined by the switching speed of the incident OAM states,which is currently below 30 Hz limited by refreshing rate of the phase-modulation spatial light modulator(SLM).Here,based on a cross convolution with the spatial frequency of the OAM-multiplexing hologram,the spatial frequencies of an elaborately-designed amplitude distribution,namely amplitude decoding key,has been adopted for the extraction of three-dimensional holographic information encoded in a specific OAM information channel.We experimentally demonstrated a dynamic extraction frame rate of 100 Hz from an OAM multiplexing hologram with 10 information channels indicated by individual OAM values from-50 to 50.The new concept of cross convolution theorem can even provide the potential of parallel reproduction and distribution of information encoded in many OAM channels at various positions which boosts the capacity of information processing far beyond the traditional decoding methods.Thus,our results provide a holographic paradigm for high-speed 3D information processing,paving an unprecedented way to achieve the high-capacity short-range optical communication system.Weijia Meng Yilin Hua Ke Cheng Baoli Li Tingting Liu Qinyu Chen Haitao Luan Min Gu Xinyuan Fang 2022Opto-Electronic Science2022,1,9:2

6β-cell dynamics in type 2 diabetes and in dietary and exercise interventions显示文摘Pancreaticβ-cell dysfunction and insulin resistance are two of the major causes of type 2 diabetes(T2D).Recent clinical and experimental studies have suggested that the functional capacity ofβ-cells,particularly in the first phase of insulin secretion,is a primary contributor to the progression of T2D and its associated complications.Pancreaticβ-cells undergo dynamic compensation and decompensation processes during the development of T2D,in which metabolic stresses such as endoplasmic reticulum stress,oxidative stress,and inflammatory signals are key regulators ofβ-cell dynamics.Dietary and exercise interventions have been shown to be effective approaches for the treatment of obesity and T2D,especially in the early stages.Whilst the targeted tissues and underlying mechanisms of dietary and exercise interventions remain somewhat vague,accumulating evidence has implicated the improvement ofβ-cell functional capacity.In this review,we summarize recent advances in the understanding of the dynamic adaptations ofβ-cell function in T2D progression and clarify the effects and mechanisms of dietary and exercise interventions onβ-cell dysfunction in T2D.This review provides molecular insights into the therapeutic effects of dietary and exercise interventions on T2D,and more importantly,it paves the way for future research on the related underlying mechanisms for developing precision prevention and treatment of T2D.Chengan Lv Yuchen Sun Zhe Yu Zhang Zeyad Aboelela Xinyuan Qiu Zhuo-Xian Meng 2022Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2022,14,7:1

8First Record of Petalodus Owen,1840(Chondrichthyes,Petalodontidae)in the Lower Permian(Cisuralian)of China显示文摘The Petalodontiformes are a small intriguing group of Permo–Carboniferous chondrichthyans.Petalodus is the longest known petalodont genus generally considered representative of the order.The first definite fossil record of seven well-preserved Petalodus teeth has been found in the Qianshi limestone in the Lower Permian(Cisuralian)middle–upper Taiyuan Formation in Yangquan City,Shanxi Province,North China.The specimens are characterized by petal-shaped teeth with a spade-like crown,and a long,tongue-shaped root;the crown is circled with a band or cingulum composed of imbricated ridges at the base.All seven teeth are assigned to the species P.ohioenesis because of their vertically narrow cingulum and much longer root.Petalodus is a worldwide genus,with fossil localities mainly concentrated in the Laurussia supercontinent.The occurrence of Petalodus teeth in Yangquan not only is the first fossil record in China,but also only the second record in Asia.The Yangquan fossil site was part of the paleoequatorial North China Craton during the Early Permian,and was isolated from Laurusia and East Gondwana by the Paleo-Tethys Ocean.The successful dispersal of Petalodus from Laurusia to the North China Block along Paleo-Tethys may support the possibility that Petalodus taxa were active free-swimmers rather than bottom dwellers.The new finding increases the petalodont diversity in eastern Asia,and also sheds new light on the distribution and stratigraphic range.GAI Zhikun BAI Zhijun LIN Xianghong MENG Xinyuan ZHANG Junwen 2021Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2021,95,4:0
9Global characterization of modifications to the charge isomers of IgG antibody显示文摘Posttranslational modifications of antibody products affect their stability,charge distribution,and drug activity and are thus a critical quality attribute.The comprehensive mapping of antibody modifications and different charge isomers(CIs)is of utmost importance,but is challenging.We intended to quantitatively characterize the posttranslational modification status of CIs of antibody drugs and explore the impact of posttranslational modifications on charge heterogeneity.The CIs of antibodies were fractionated by strong cation exchange chromatography and verified by capillary isoelectric focusing-whole column imaging detection,followed by stepwise structural characterization at three levels.First,the differences between CIs were explored at the intact protein level using a top-down mass spectrometry approach;this showed differences in glycoforms and deamidation status.Second,at the peptide level,common modifications of oxidation,deamidation,and glycosylation were identified.Peptide mapping showed nonuniform deamidation and glycoform distribution among CIs.In total,10 N-glycoforms were detected by peptide mapping.Finally,an in-depth analysis of glycan variants of CIs was performed through the detection of enriched glycopeptides.Qualitative and quantitative analyses demonstrated the dynamics of 24 N-glycoforms.The results revealed that sialic acid modification is a critical factor accounting for charge heterogeneity,which is otherwise missed in peptide mapping and intact molecular weight analyses.This study demonstrated the importance of the comprehensive analyses of antibody CIs and provides a reference method for the quality control of biopharmaceutical analysis.Xinling Cui Wei Mi Zhishang Hu Xiaoyu Li Bo Meng Xinyuan Zhao Xiaohong Qian Tao Zhu Wantao Ying 2022Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2022,12,1:0
10Interfacial engineering of metallic rhodium by thiol modification approach for ambient electrosynthesis of ammonia显示文摘Here we report a vapor-phase reaction approach to fabricate rhodium(I)-dodecanethiol complex coated on carbon fiber cloth(Rh(I)-SC_(12)H_(25)/CFC),followed by low-temperature pyrolysis to achieve dodecanethiol modified Rh(Rh@SC_(12)H_(2)5/CFC)for electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR).The results demonstrate that after pyrolysis for 0.5 h at 150℃,the obtained Rh@SC_(12)H_(2)5/CFC-0.5 exhibits excellent NRR activity with an NH3 yield rate of 121.2±6.6μg∙h^(−1)∙cm^(−2)(or 137.7±7.5μg∙h^(−1)∙mgRh^(−1))and a faradaic efficiency(FE)of 51.6%±3.8%at−0.2 V(vs.RHE)in 0.1 M Na_(2)SO_(4).The theoretical calculations unveil that the adsorption of dodecanethiol on the hollow sites of Rh(111)plane is thermodynamically favorable,effectively regulating the electronic structure and surface wettability of metallic Rh.Importantly,the dodecanethiol modification on Rh(111)obviously decreases the surface H*coverage,thus inhibiting the competitive hydrogen evolution reaction and concurrently reducing the electrocatalytic NRR energy barrier.Meng Jin Xinyuan Zhang Xian Zhang Hongjian Zhou Miaomiao Han Yunxia Zhang Guozhong Wang Haimin Zhang 2022Nano Research2022,15,10:0
11Sulfanion-initiated open-vessel anionic ring-opening polymerization of N-sulfonyl aziridines显示文摘Anionic ring-opening polymerization(AROP)of N-sulfonyl aziridines is an important synthetic route to linear polyethyleneimine(PEI)and its derivatives.In most cases,inert atmosphere and dry solvent were needed because of the oxygen-and water-sensitive initiators/catalysts used.Therefore,the AROP of N-sulfonyl aziridines that can be entirely operated in air atmosphere is still a challenging task.Herein,we report a series of sulfanions,including xanthates,dithiocarbamates,dithiobenzoates,thioacetates,and thiolates,as the initiators for the AROP of N-sulfonyl aziridines.Due to their good stability,openvessel polymerization was achieved with high livingness,affording a range of well-definedα-,ω-telechelic poly(N-sulfonyl aziridine)homopolymers and block copolymers with narrow dispersities and tunable molecular weights.Theα-end group of these polyaziridines was readily converted to thiol group,which enabled further post-polymerization functionalization with benzyl acrylate and poly(ethylene glycol)via thiol-ene click chemistry.The establishment of open-vessel sulfanion-initiated AROP of N-sulfonyl aziridines thus lays a solid foundation for the bulk preparation and application of poly(N-sulfonyl aziridine)s and PEI derivatives.Meng Huo Yawen Bian Chunyang Yu Gansheng Tong Chongyin Zhang Xinyuan Zhu 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,10:0
12Nanoscale metal organic frameworks inhibition of pyruvate kinase of M2显示文摘Tumor cells usually show abnormally high glycolysis rate to maintain the dynamic balance of energy.The growth of tumor cells can be affected by inhibiting the activity of pyruvate kinase(especially M2-type isozyme,PKM2),the rate limiting enzyme of glycolysis.This is helpful to the treatment of tumor.Herein,metal organic frameworks(MOFs) were found to inhibit the activity of PKM2.Nanoscale ZIF-8 was synthesized by standing and ultrasonic method,respectively.The ZIF-8 has the performance of inhibiting PKM2.Further research showed that the inhibition ability was attributed to zinc ion in ZIF-8.Interestingly,the IC_(50) of ZIF-8 on PKM2 was one percent of that of zinc ion.This novel enzyme inhibitor is expected to be used in cancer therapy.Xiangling Ren Xinyuan Huang Qiong Wu Longfei Tan Changhui Fu Yi Chen Xianwei Meng 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,10:0

14An integrative profiling of metabolome and transcriptome in the plasma and skeletal muscle following an exercise intervention in diet-induced obese mice显示文摘Exercise intervention at the early stage of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)can aid in the maintenance of blood glucose homeostasis and prevent the development of macrovascular and microvascular complications.However,the exercise-regulated pathways that prevent the development of T2DM remain largely unclear.In this study,two forms of exercise intervention,treadmill training and voluntary wheel running,were conducted for high-fat diet(HFD)-induced obese mice.We observed that both forms of exercise intervention alleviated HFD-induced insulin resistance and glucose intolerance.Skeletal muscle is recognized as the primary site for postprandial glucose uptake and for responsive alteration beyond exercise training.Metabolomic profiling of the plasma and skeletal muscle in Chow,HFD,and HFD-exercise groups revealed robust alterations in metabolic pathways by exercise intervention in both cases.Overlapping analysis identified nine metabolites,including beta-alanine,leucine,valine,and tryptophan,which were reversed by exercise treatment in both the plasma and skeletal muscle.Transcriptomic analysis of gene expression profiles in the skeletal muscle revealed several key pathways involved in the beneficial effects of exercise on metabolic homeostasis.In addition,integrative transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses uncovered strong correlations between the concentrations of bioactive metabolites and the expression levels of genes involved in energy metabolism,insulin sensitivity,and immune response in the skeletal muscle.This work established two models of exercise intervention in obese mice and provided mechanistic insights into the beneficial effects of exercise intervention on systemic energy homeostasis.Shuang Han Qingqian Wu Mengying Wang Miqi Yang Chen Sun Jiaqi Liang Xiaozhen Guo Zheyu Zhang Jingya Xu Xinyuan Qiu Cen Xie Siyu Chen Yue Gao Zhuo-Xian Meng 2023Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2023,15,3:0
15Licorice-saponin A3 is a broad-spectrum inhibitor for COVID-19 by targeting viral spike and anti-inflammation显示文摘Currently,human health due to corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has been seriously threatened.The coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)spike(S)protein plays a crucial role in virus transmission and several S-based therapeutic approaches have been approved for the treatment of COVID-19.However,the efficacy is compromised by the SARS-CoV-2 evolvement and mutation.Here we report the SARS-CoV-2 S protein receptor-binding domain(RBD)inhibitor licorice-saponin A3(A3)could widely inhibit RBD of SARS-CoV-2 variants,including Beta,Delta,and Omicron BA.1,XBB and BQ1.1.Furthermore,A3 could potently inhibit SARS-CoV-2 Omicron virus in Vero E6 cells,with EC50 of 1.016μM.The mechanism was related to binding with Y453 of RBD determined by hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry(HDX-MS)analysis combined with quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics(QM/MM)simulations.Interestingly,phosphoproteomics analysis and multi fluorescent immunohistochemistry(mIHC)respectively indicated that A3 also inhibits host inflammation by directly modulating the JNK and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)pathways and rebalancing the corresponding immune dysregulation.This work supports A3 as a promising broad-spectrum small molecule drug candidate for COVID-19.Yang Yi Wenzhe Li Kefang Liu Heng Xue Rong Yu Meng Zhang Yang-Oujie Bao Xinyuan Lai Jingjing Fan Yuxi Huang Jing Wang Xiaomeng Shi Junhua Li Hongping Wei Kuanhui Xiang Linjie Li Rong Zhang Xin Zhao Xue Qiao Hang Yang Min Ye 2024Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2024,14,1:0
16A standardized method to create peripheral nerve injury in dogs using an automatic non-serrated forceps显示文摘This study describes a method that not only generates an automatic and standardized crush injury in the skull base, but also provides investigators with the option to choose from a range of varying pressure levels. We designed an automatic, non-serrated forceps that exerts a varying force of 0 to 100 g and lasts for a defined period of 0 to 60 seconds. This device was then used to generate a crush injury to the right oculomotor nerve of dogs with a force of 10 g for 15 seconds, resulting in a deficit in the pupil-light reflex and ptosis. Further testing of our model with Toluidine-blue staining demonstrated that, at 2 weeks post-surgery disordered oculomotor nerve fibers, axonal loss, and a thinner than normal myelin sheath were visible. Electrophysiological examination showed occasional spontaneous potentials.
