1Effect of initial material bulk density and easily-degraded organic matter content on temperature changes during composting of cucumber stalk显示文摘To inactivate the potentially pathogenic microorganisms and safely utilize vegetable waste compost, ultra-high temperatures(> 70°C) should be maintained during the composting without having an inhibitory effect on maturity. This study investigated the influence of bulk density(part 1) and easily-degraded organic matter content(EDOMC, part 2) on temperature evolution during vegetable waste composting: Part 1: corn straw with different particle sizes was used to achieve different bulk densities in the composting material(BD1–BD3); Part 2: partial or total substitution of the corn straw by corn starch was carried out to obtain different EDOMC(ED1–ED4). The composting experiments were conducted in a labscale reactor(1.75 kg material) and lasted for 30 d. Temperature and CO2 emission were recorded daily, and the organic matter, lignocellulose, microbial activity, germination index(GI) and C/N of the samples were measured at different stages. The highest temperature(65.7°C) in part 1 occurred in the treatment with the bulk density of 0.35 g/cm3, which also had the longest thermophilic phase. Bulk density was found to seriously influence the utilization efficiency of O2 and heat transfer through materials, rather than heat production from organic matter degradation. In experiment part 2, the highest temperature was obtained with EDOMC of 45%(71.4°C). Therefore, adjusting the bulk density to 0.35 g/cm3 and the easily-degraded organic matter content of the initial material to 45% was the best combination for reaching temperatures above 70°C during composting, with no inhibitory effect on the maturity of the compost product.Ruixue Chang Qiuyue Guo Qing Chen Maria Pilar Bernal Qian Wang Yanming Li 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,6:11
2Structural Changes of Wheat Straw Lignin during Formic Acid Treatment显示文摘The aromatic nature of lignin makes it a potential renewable source of chemicals and other valuable products.Isolation of lignin from lignocellulosic biomass using organic solvents enables the production of high-purity lignin.The use of formic acid in the organosolv pulping and fractionation process has been widely studied.Characterization of lignin is necessary to achieve valueadded applications of lignin.To simplify the isolation of formic acid-treated lignin,herein,milled wheat straw lignin(MWSL) was employed as an archetype for characterization of the structural changes of lignin during formic acid treatment.The results showed that the MWSL was GSH-type(comprising p-hydroxyphenyl(H),guaiacyl(G),and syringyl(S) monolignols) and underwent structural changes during formic acid treatment.Lignin was esterified during the formic acid treatment.The content of alkyl hydroxyl groups in lignin decreased upon formic acid treatment,corresponding to an increase of the number of double bond equivalents(DBE).Lignin units with active reaction sites were liable to slight condensation,which resulted in a moderate increase of the molecular weight.The molecular weight distribution of formic acid-treated MWSL(FMWSL) was wider than that of the MWSL,although the molecular weight of both species did not differ significantly.The β-O-4 linkage in lignin was partially cleaved during formic acid treatment,resulting in the production of new phenolic structures.This improved the solubility of lignin in the cooking liquor and its reactivity for downstream applications.RuiXue Dong XiuWen Mei Chang Ma MingFei Li YongMing Fan 2016Paper And Biomaterials2016,1,2:5
3Metal Particle Contamination in Gas-insulated Switchgears/Gas-insulated Transmission Lines显示文摘Metal particle contamination in a gas-insulated switchgear(GIS)or a gas-insulated transmission line(GIL)is an important factor leading to the decline of insulation performance.Exploring the deterioration mechanism and suppression measures of metal particles on insulation is a key technical problem in enhancing the dielectric strength of GIS/GIL equipment.In this paper,the charge and motion characteristics of metal particles are first introduced.The gas gap breakdown caused by free metal particles and the surface flashover caused by metal particles near or adsorbed on the insulator are then analyzed according to different particle motion patterns and spatial locations.Subsequently in terms of operation managements,the existing methods of particle detection are analyzed.In addition,the main inhibition methods of metal particles are introduced from three aspects:particle trap,insulator surface treatment and electrode coating.Finally,the prospects in the future research on particle pollution in GIS/GIL are also pointed out.Jian Wang Qi Hu Yanan Chang Jingrui Wang Ruixue Liang Youping Tu Chuanyang Li Qingmin Li 2021CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2021,7,5:1
4Correlating the fluctuated growth of carbon nanotubes with catalyst evolution by atmospheric-pressure environmental transmission electron microscopy显示文摘Rate-controlled growth of carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and catalyst design are considered efficient ways for the preparation of CNTs with specific structures and properties.However,due to the difficulties in capturing the growth process of the CNTs with tiny size under a complex growth environment,the growth kinetics of CNTs and their correlation with the catalyst seed have been seldom revealed.Here,we investigated the growth process of CNTs from Ni nanoparticles(NPs)in real-time under atmospheric pressure using transmission electron microscopy equipped with a closed gas cell.It was found that the growth rates of CNTs fluctuated,and a phase transition from Ni_(3)C to Ni,and a reshaping of the catalyst NPs occurred during the growth process.We demonstrated that CNTs dynamically interacted with the connected catalyst NPs and the fluctuated growth rates of CNTs were correlated with the structure change of catalyst NPs.The origin of the growth rate fluctuation is attributed to the change of carbon concentration gradient in catalyst NPs.Rui-Hong Xie Lili Zhang Ruixue Ma Xin-Yu Jiao Dai-Ming Tang Chang Liu Hui-Ming Cheng 2023Nano Research2023,16,11:0

6Ultra-high temperature tolerant flexible transparent electrode with embedded silver nanowires bundle micromesh for electrical heater显示文摘To realize high performance flexible transparent electronics with extreme environmental adaptivity,Ag nanowires(Ag NWs)electrodes should simultaneously meet the requirements of high-temperature tolerance,chemical and mechanical robustness.Herein,a scalable Ag NWs bundle micro-meshes embedded in polyimide(Ag BMs/ePI)conducting film via a facile spray coating and transfer method is reported.Due to the synergistic effect of bundle micromesh and embedded architecture,the Ag BMs/ePI electrode exhibits high thermal stability(370℃ and 400℃ under ambient and nitrogen atmosphere conditions,respectively),low sheet resistance variation(<4%),good corrosion and deformation resistance.As an electrical heater,the Ag BMs/ePI can achieve~204℃ with the fast thermal response time of~8 s at 8 V,and exhibits good heating stability under bent condition.This work offers a promising platform for the emerging flexible transparent electronics to adapt extreme environments,especially for those devices which require high-temperature processing.Bowen Sun Ruixue Xu Xu Han Jing Xu Wang Hong Yimeng Xu Zhiwei Fu He Zhu Xin Sun Jiangxin Wang Peng Cui Jingjing Chang Jiaqing Xiong Kai Qian 2022npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1:0

8Safety and immunogenicity of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in high-risk occupational population:a randomized,parallel,controlled clinical trial显示文摘Background: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and the resulting coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have a substantial burden on health-care systems around the world. This is a randomized parallel controlled trial for assessment of the immunogenicity and safety of an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, aiming to determine an appropriate vaccination interval of the vaccine for high-risk occupational population.Methods: In an ongoing randomized, parallel, controlled phase IV trial between January and May 2021 in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, China, we randomly assigned the airport ground staff and public security officers aged 18 to 59 years to receive two doses of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine at 14 days, 21 days, or 28 days. The serum neutralizing antibody to live SARS-CoV-2 was performed at baseline and 28 days after immunization. Long-term data are being collected. The primary immunogenicity endpoints were neutralization antibody seroconversion and geometric mean titer (GMT) at 28 days after the second dose. Analysis of variance (ANOVA), chi-square, and logistic regression analysis were used for data analysis.Results: A total of 809 participants underwent randomization and received two doses of injections: 270, 270, 269 in the 0-14, 0-21, and 0-28 vaccination group, respectively. By day 28 after the second injection, SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibody of GMT was 98.4 (95%CI: 88.4-108.4) in the 0-14 group, which was significantly lower compared with 134.4 (95%CI: 123.1-145.7) in the 0-21 group (P < 0.001 vs 0-14 group) and 145.5 (95%CI: 131.3-159.6) in the 0-28 group (P < 0.001 vs 0-14 group), resulting in the seroconversion rates to neutralizing antibodies (GMT ≥ 16) of 100.0% for all three groups, respectively. The intention-to-treat (ITT) analysis yielded similar results.
