| 1 | Far-field coseismic displacements associated with the 2011 Tohoku-oki earthquake in Japan observed by Global Positioning System显示文摘Analysis of GEONET observations covering the entire territory of Japan shows that the great Tohoku-oki earthquake that occurred on March 11, 2011 off the east coast of Honshu in Japan caused an eastward movement of the northern part of the island by as much as 5.3 m. The GPS data from TEONET in China were used to derive far-field coseismic displacements and to assess the impact of the Tohoku-oki earthquake on crustal deformation in eastern China. The results reveal that the coseismic horizontal displacements induced by the earthquake are the level of millimeters to centimeters in North and Northeast China, with a maximum of 35 mm. Strain analysis also indicates that the earthquake resulted in an increase in the tensile strain on the north-northeast trending faults in North and Northeast China. The tensile strain imposed on the Yilan-Yitong and Dunhua-Mishan faults is more significant than that imposed on the faults in North China; the maximum normal strain reaches about 40 nano-strain. | 2 | Hepatitis B virus genotypes and genome characteristics in China显示文摘AIM:To analyze the hepatitis B virus(HBV) characters in China,as well as the correlation between several HBV mutation and hepatitis symptoms.METHODS:A total of 1148 HBV genome sequences from patients throughout China were collected via the National Center For Biotechnology Information database(information including:genotype,territory and clinical status).HBV genotypes were classified by a direct reference from the Genbank sequence annotation,phylogenetic tree and online software analysis(http://gffzz16a62c593b5540cehck0xq9own0nf6x9p.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/projects/genotyping/formpage.cgi).The phylogenetic tree was constructed based on the neighbor-joining method by MEGA5.0 software.HBV sequences were grouped based on phylogenetic tree and the distance between the groups was calculated by using the computer between group mean distance methods.Seven hundred and twelve HBV sequences with clear annotation of clinical symptoms were selected to analyses the correlation of mutation and clinical symptoms.Characteristics of sequences were analyzed by using DNAStar and BioEdit software packages.The codon usage bias and RNA secondary structures analysis were performed by RNAdraw software.Recombination analysis was performed by using Simplot software.RESULTS:In China,HBV genotype C was the predominant in Northeastern,genotype B was predominant in Central Southern areas,genotype B and C were both dominant in Southwestern areas,and the recombinant genotype C/D was predominant in Northwestern areas.C2 and B2 were identified as the two major sub-genotypes,FJ386674 might be a putative sub-genotype as B10.The basal core promoter double mutation and pre-C mutation showed various significant differences between hepatitis symptoms.In addition to ATG,many other HBV initiation codons also exist.HBV has codon usage bias;the termination codon of X,C and P open reading frames(ORF) were TAA,TAG,and TGA,respectively.The major stop codons of S-ORF were TAA(96.45%) and TGA(83.60%) in B2 and C2 subtype,respectively.CONCLUSION:This study recapitulated the epidemiology of HBV in China,and the information might be meaningful critical for the future prevention and therapy of HBV infections. | Hong-Mei Li Jian-Qiong Wang Rui Wang Qian Zhao Li Li Jin-Ping Zhang Tao Shen | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,21: | 33 |

| 5 | Effects of four regulating-intestine prescriptions on pathology and ultrastructure of colon tissue in rats with ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM: To observe different histomorphologic changes of ulcerative colitis (UC) rats that were treated with four regulating-intestine prescriptions (FRIP), to investigate the curative effects of FRIP and to analyze their treatment mechanism.METHODS: The UC rat model was made by the method of 2,4-dinitro chloro benzene (DNCB) immunity and acetic acid local enema. Ninety-eight SD rats were randomly divided into seven groups, namely, the normal control group, model group, salicylazosulfapyridine (SASP) group,Wumeiwan (WMW) group, Baitouwengtang (BTWT) group,Senglingbaishusan (SLBSS) group, and Tongxieyaofang (TXYF) group. Each group had 14 rats (with equal ratio of male and female). The six animal model groups of UC-SASP, TXYF, WMW, BTWT, SLBSS, TXYF-were treated by distilled water except the normal control group. Changes of the rat's general conditions after treatment were respectively observed, the colon tissue damage scores were given out, the pathology of colonic mucosa and changes of ultrastructure were analyzed.RESULTS: Different pathological changes on histology were shown after treatment by FRIP. The colon tissue damage score in model group was higher than that of FRIP groups and SASP group (q = 4.59, 4.77, P<0.05 or q = 5.48,6.25, 5.97, P<0.01). The scores of WMW group, BTWT group and SLBSS group were lower than that of SASP (q = 4.13, P<0.05 or q = 5.31, 5.12, P<0.01). There was no remarkable difference between the damage score of TXYF group and SASP group (q = 3.75, P>0.05). | 6 | Effects of Tongxinluo-facilitated cellular cardiomyoplasty with autologous bone marrow-mesenchymal stem cells on postinfarct swine hearts显示文摘<正> Background Treatment of ischemic heart disease remains an important challenge,though there have been enormousprogresses in cardiovascular therapeutics.This study was conducted to evaluate whether Tongxinluo(TXL)treatmentaround the transplantation of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)can improve survival and subsequent activities ofimplanted cells in swine hearts with acute myocardial infarction(AMI)and reperfusion.Methods Twenty-eight Chinese mini-pigs were divided into four groups including a control group(n=7);group 2,administration of low-dose TXL alone from the 3rd day prior to AMI to the 4th day post transplantation(n=7);group 3,MSCs alone(n=7)and group 4,TXL+MSCs(n=7).AMI models were made by occlusion of the left anterior descendingcoronary artery for 90 minutes.Autologous bone marrow-MSCs(3×10~7 cells/animal)were then injected into thepost-infarct myocardium immediately after AMI and reperfusion.The survival and differentiation of implanted cells in vivowere detected by immunofluorescent analysis.The data of cardiac function were obtained at baseline(1 week aftertransplantation)and endpoint(6 weeks after transplantation)by single photon emission computed tomography(SPECT)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).Apoptosis was detected by TUNEL assay and the oxidative stress level wasinvestigated in the post-infarct myocardium at endpoint.Results At endpoint,there was less fibrosis and inflammatory cell infiltration with more surviving myocardium in group 4than in the control group.In group 4 the survival and differentiation of implanted MSCs were significantly improved morethan that seen in group 3 alone(P<0.0001);the capillary density was also significantly greater than in the control group,group 2 or 3 both in the infarcted zone(P<0.0001)and the peri-infarct zone(P<0.0001).MRI showed that parameters atbaseline were not significantly different between the 4 groups.At endpoint,regional wall thickening and the left ventricularejection fraction were increased while the left ventricular mass index,dyskinetic segments and infarcted size weredecreased only in group 4 compared with control group(P<0.0001).SPECT showed that the area of perfusion defectwas significantly decreased at endpoint only in group 4 compared with control group(P<0.0001).TUNEL assay indicatedthat TXL administration significantly decreased cell apoptosis in peri-infarct myocardium in groups 2 and 4.Furthermore,superoxide dismutase(SOD)significantly increased and malondialdehyde(MDA)decreased in groups 2 and 4 by theadministration of TXL.Conclusions Our study demonstrates the following:(1)immediate intramyocardial injection of MSCs after AMI andreperfusion resulted in limited survival and differentiation potential of implanted cells in vivo,thus being incapable ofbeneficially affecting post-hearts;(2)TXL-facilitation resulted in a significant survival and differentiation potential ofimplanted cells in vivo via inhibition of apoptosis and oxidative stress,accompanied by significant benefits in cardiacfunction.Chin Med J 2007;120(16) | QIAN Hai-yan YANG Yue-jin HUANG Ji GAO Run-lin DOU Ke-fei YANG Guo-sheng LI Jian-jun SHEN Rui HE Zuo-xiang LU Min-jie ZHAO Shi-hua | 2007 | Chinese Medical Journal2007,,16: | 19 |
| 7 | Effect of Shoushen granule on arterial elasticity in patients with carotid atherosclerosis:a clinical randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effectiveness of Shoushen granule,Chinese herbal preparation,on carotid artery elasticity in patients with carotid atherosclerosis.METHODS: The total of 156 carotid atherosclerosis patients were randomly divided into the intervention group(83 cases,treated with Shoushen granule) and the control group(73 cases,treated with pravastatin). Brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(ba PWV) and Ankle-Brachial Pressure Index(ABI)were measured by automated arteriosclerosis detector. The changes of common carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT) and parameters of the carotid artery elasticity in patients,including stiffness parameter(β),pressure-strain elastic modulus(Ep),arterial compliance(Ac),augmentation index(AI),and pulse wave velocity β(PWVβ) were detected by Echo-Tracking(ET) technique before and after 24 week treatment. In the meantime,levels of blood lipid,and liver and renal function were measured respectively.RESULTS: After 24 weeks,ba PWV,IMT and parameters of the carotid artery elasticity(β,Ep,AI and PWVβ) were markedly decreased in intervention group compared with those of before treatment(P < 0.01),but the level of Ac was increased significantly(P < 0.01). | 11 | Spatial and temporal variation of haze in China from 1961 to 2012显示文摘The purpose of this study is to analyze the climatic characteristics and long-term spatial and temporal variations of haze occurrence in China. The impact factors of haze trends are also discussed. Meteorological data from 1961 to 2012 and daily PM10 concentrations from2003 to 2012 were employed in this study. The results indicate that the annual-average hazy days at all stations have been increasing rapidly from 4 days in 1961 to 18 days in 2012. The maximum number of haze days occur in winter(41.1%) while the minimum occur in summer(10.4%). During 1961-2012, the high occurrence areas of haze shifted from central to south and east regions of China. The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(Jing-Jin-Ji) region, Shanxi,Shaanxi, and Henan Province are the high occurrence areas for haze, while the Yangtze River Delta(YRD) and the Pearl River Delta(PRD) have become regions with high haze occurrences in the last 25 years. Temperature and pressure are positively correlated with the number of haze days. However, wind, relative humidity, precipitation, and sunshine duration are negatively correlated with the number of haze days. The key meteorological factors affecting the formation and dissipation of haze vary for high and low altitudes, and are closely related to anthropogenic activities. | 17 | A Single-Site Positioning Method Based on TOA and DOA Estimation Using Virtual Stations in NLOS Environment显示文摘This paper presents a single-site positioning method based on the joint estimation of propagation time-of-arrival(TOA) and direction-of-arrival(DOA), with the assist of virtual stations in the typical non-line-of-sight(NLOS) environment. Consider the influence of multipath noise on the positioning performance, the proposed method firstly presents a modified high-resolution estimation technique called Multipath noise Limiting Matrix Pencil(MLMP) algorithm to achieve the TOA/DOA estimations, in which the matrix pencil and matrix enhancement process are implemented to deal with the measurements from the uniform linear array(ULA) receiver. Meanwhile, the subspace dimension estimation is improved via an adaptive threshold, for enhancing the performance of high-resolution techniques in low signal-noise-ration(SNR) situation. Next the proposed method generates virtual stations utilizing the known floor plan of surrounding reflectors, and adopts a weighted Least Square(WLS) position estimator to calculate the required position, combining the TOA/DOA estimations with the location of virtual stations. | 18 | Effects of mild hypothermia on the ROS and expression of caspase-3 m RNA and LC3 of hippocampus nerve cells in rats after cardiopulmonary resuscitation显示文摘BACKGROUND: Cardiac arrest(CA) is a common and serious event in emergency medicine. Despite recent improvements in resuscitation techniques, the survival rate of patients with CA is unchanged. The present study was undertaken to observe the effect of mild hypothermia(MH) on the reactive oxygen species(ROS) and the effect of neurological function and related mechanisms.METHODS: Sixty-five healthy male Sprague Dawley(SD) adult rats were randomly(random number) divided into 2 groups: blank control group(n=5) and CPR group(n=60). CA was induced by asphyxia. The surviving rats were randomly(random number) divided into two groups: normothermia CPR group(NT) and hypothermia CPR group(HT). Normothermia of 37 °C was maintained in the NT group after return of spontaneous circulation(ROSC), hypothermal intervention of 32 °C was carried out in the HT group for 4 hours immediately after ROSC. Both the NT and HT groups were then randomly divided into 2 subgroups 12 hours and 24 hours after ROSC(NT-12, NT-24, HT-12, HT-24 subgroups). During observation, the neurological defi cit scores(NDSs) was recorded, then the bilateral hippocampi were obtained from rats' head, and monoplast suspension of fresh hippocampus tissue was made immediately to determine the level of intracellular ROS by flow cytometry. Transmission electron microscope was used to observe the ultramicro changes of cellular nucleus and mitochondria. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was used to determine the expression of caspase-3 m RNA, and western-blotting(WB) was used to determine the level of LC3 in frozen hippocampus tissue. Measured data were analyzed with paired sample t test and One-Way ANOVA.RESULTS: Of 60 rats with CA, 44(73%) were successfully resuscitated and 33(55%) survived until the end of the experiment. The NDSs of rats in the NT and HT groups were more signifi cantly reduced than those in the BC group(F=8.107, P<0.05), whereas the NDSs of rats in the HT-12 and HT-24 subgroups were significantly increased in comparison with those NDSs of rats in the NT-12 and NT-24 subgroups, respectively(t=9.692, P<0.001; t=14.374, P<0.001). The ROS in hippocampus nerve cells in the NT and HT groups signifi cantly increased compared to the BC group(F=16.824, P<0.05), whereas the ROS in the HT-12 and HT-24 subgroups significantly reduced compared with that ROS in the NT-12 and NT-24 subgroups, respectively(t=9.836, P<0.001; t=7.499, P<0.001). The expression of caspase-3 m RNA in hippocampus nerve cells in the NT and HT groups were signifi cantly increased compared to the BC group(F=24.527, P<0.05), whereas the expression of caspase-3 m RNA in rats of the HT-12 and HT-24 subgroups was signifi cantly reduced compared to the NT-12 and NT-24 subgroups, respectively(t=6.935, P<0.001; t=4.317, P<0.001). The expression of LC3B-II/I in hippocampus nerve cells of rats in the NT and HT groups signifi cantlyincreased compared to the BC group(F=6.584, P<0.05), whereas the expression of LC3B-II/I in rats of the HT-12 and HT-24 subgroups significantly reduced compared to the NT-12 and NT-24 subgroups, respectively(t=10.836, P<0.001; t=2.653, P=0.02). | 19 | Mesoporous Graphene Hosts for Dendrite-Free Lithium Metal Anode in Working Rechargeable Batteries显示文摘Lithium(Li) metal anode has received extensive attentions due to its ultrahigh theoretical capacity and the most negative electrode potential. However, dendrite growth severely impedes the practical applications of the Li metal anode in rechargeable batteries. In this contribution, a mesoporous graphene with a high specific surface area was synthesized to host the Li metal anode. The mesoporous graphene host(MGH) has a high specific surface area(2090 m^2/g), which affords free space and an interconnected conductive pathway for Li plating and stripping, thus alleviating the volume variation and reducing the generation of dead Li during repeated cycles. More importantly, the high specific surface area of MGH efficiently reduces the local current density of the electrode, which favors a uniform Li nucleation and plating behavior, rendering a dendritefree deposition morphology at a low overpotential. These factors synergistically boost the Li utilization(90.1% vs. 70.1% for Cu foil) and life span(150 cycles vs. 100 cycles for Cu foil) with a low polarization of MGH electrode at an ultrahigh current of 15.0 mA/cm^2. | 20 | Repeatability and Reproducibility of Quantitative Assessment of the Retinal Microvasculature Using Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography Based on Optical Microangiography显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to determine the repeatability and reproducibility of optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA) based on optical microangiography(OMAG) measurements of macular vessels in normal eyes. Methods In this prospective cohort study, 40 eyes of 40 healthy volunteers underwent repeated OCTA(Cirrus HD-OCT 5000 angiography system, Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc.) scans on two separate visit days. On each visit day, the eyes were scanned three times. The following parameters were used to quantitatively describe the OCTA images of the superficial vascular network: vessel area density(VAD), vessel skeleton density(VSD), vessel diameter index(VDI), vessel perimeter index(VPI), vessel complexity index(VCI), flux, and foveal avascular zone(FAZ). Coefficient of variation(CV) and intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC) were calculated for evaluating intravisit and intervisit repeatability, as well as interobserver reproducibility. Results The measurements showed high repeatability [CVs ≤ 4.2%(intravisit) and ≤ 4.6%(intervisit)] and interobserver reproducibility(ICCs ≥ 0.923) for all parameters.
