| 1 | Applied Sequence Stratigraphy in Nonmarine Basin of China显示文摘This paper presents a preliminary summary of the applied sequence stratigraphy in nonmarine basins in China. The geological and geophysical data show that the nonmarine sequences mainly resulted from both allocyclic and autocyclic processes where the most important factors were isolated tectonics and climate. However, the environmental factor should have been crucial. The depositional base level served as the sea level in the marine environment, while the water table, lake level and fluvial equilibrium were profiled in a terrigenous environment. This accommodation varied periodically with the base level, resulting in the formation of a series of depositional sequences in terms of genesis and space. Basically, the base level of the inner continent was not affected by the changes in the relative sea level. But there would have been some relations between the changes in the relative sea level and that in the continental base level during eustacy flooding. However, a small time lag existed between the changes in the marine basin and the inner continent basin, The lake basin is smaller than the marine basin, but its velocity of sediment supply is greater than that of the marine basin. Therefore, the number of nonmarine sequences is greater than that of marine ones in the same period. It is important to recognize the system tracts for the study of high-precision or high-resolution sequence stratigraphy, especially to analyze the low-stand systems tract with its depositional system. The sequence boundary is genetically characterized by subaerial exposure, stratigraphic truncation and subaqueous erosion. The deposition analysis of Zhanhua depression reveals 5 sequence architectures: alluvial-fluvial/lacustrine architecture, transitional architecture formed between haline (mesohaline) lake and fresh lake, marine duration-deep lacustrine architecture, half deep lacustrine-ramp architecture and fluvial-alluvial plain architecture. During the major development of the nonmarine basin, the step-faulting breaks controlled the depositional system. Usually, the low-stand complex fan, prograding wedge and high-stand turbidity fan were close to the third stepping break. In the low-stand period, the sediments went around the incised valleys which then were filled with sand bar near the second stepping break. At the first stepping break the sediments were bypassed step by step or the alluvial fan was deposited with forced regressions in the low-stand time. The low-stand wedge may serve as favorable subtle or complex traps at the basin floor fan. | 4 | Feasibility of low-intensity ultrasound treatment with hydroxylamine to accelerate the initiation of partial nitrification and allow operation under intermittent aeration显示文摘Partial nitrification is a key aspect of efficient nitrogen removal,although practically it suf-fers from long start-up cycles and unstable long-term operational performance.To address these drawbacks,this study investigated the effect of low intensity ultrasound treatment combined with hydroxylamine(NH2OH)on the performance of partial nitrification.Results showthat compared with the control group,low-intensity ultrasound treatment(0.10W/mL,15 min)combined with NH2OH(5 mg/L)reduced the time required for partial nitrification initiation by 6 days,increasing the nitrite accumulation rate(NAR)and ammonia nitro-gen removal rate(NRR)by 20.4% and 6.7%,respectively,achieving 96.48% NRR.Mechanis-tic analysis showed that NH2OH enhanced ammonia oxidation,inhibited nitrite-oxidizing bacteria(NOB)activity and shortened the time required for partial nitrification initiation.Furthermore,ultrasonication combined with NH2OH dosing stimulated EPS(extracellular polymeric substances)secretion,increased carbonyl,hydroxyl and amine functional group abundances and enhanced mass transfer.In addition,16S rRNA gene sequencing results showed that ultrasonication-sensitive Nitrospira disappeared from the ultrasound+NH_(2)OH system,while Nitrosomonas gradually became the dominant group.Collectively,the results of this study provide valuable insight into the enhancement of partial nitrification start-up during the process of wastewater nitrogen removal. | Jianxiong Jian Xiaojian Liao Zhihua Mo Shoupeng Li Lei Li Shaojin Chen Zhenhua Huang Junhao Chen Wencan Dai Shuiyu Sun | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,5: | 0 |

| 6 | Enhanced Plasmonic-Induced Absorption Using a Cascade Scheme and Its Application as Refractive-Index Sensor显示文摘In this paper,we describe a new method to improve fast-light transmission,which uses cascades.We design a simple plasmonic device that enables plasmonic-induced absorption(PIA).It consists mainly of two parallel rectangular cavities.The numerical results simulated by using the finite element method(FEM)confirm its function.The corresponding group delay-time can reach-0.146 ps for the PIA window.Based on this result,we propose a cascade device,with the dual-rectangular cavity system as building block,to improve fast-light transmission even more.The results indicate that the cascade scheme can increase the group delay-time to-0.456 ps,which means the fast-light feature is substantially enhanced compared with the non-cascading approach.The effect of the distance between two cascade resonators and other structural parameters is also investigated.Finally,we use this design concept to build a refractive-index sensor with a sensitivity of 701 nm/RIU. | Xinyi LI Daobin WANG Shoupeng WANG Lihua YUAN Jingli LEI Xiaoxiao LI | 2020 | Photonic Sensors2020,10,2: | 0 |
