| 3 | Irisin exerts a therapeutic effect against myocardial infarction via promoting angiogenesis显示文摘Irisin,a myokine,is cleaved from the extracellular portion of fibronectin domain-containing 5 protein in skeletal muscle and myocardium and secreted into circulation as a hormone during exercise.Irisin has been found to exert protective effects against lung and heart injuries.However,whether irisin influences myocardial infarction(Ml)remains unclear.In this study we investigated the therapeutic effects of irisin in an acute Ml model and its underlying mechanisms.Adult C57BL76 mice were subjected to ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery and treated with irisin for 2 weeks after Ml.Cardiac function was assessed using echocardiography.We found that irisin administration significantly alleviated Ml-induced cardiac dysfunction and ventricular dilation at 4 weeks post-MI.Irisin significantly reduced infarct size and fibrosis in post-MI hearts.Irisin administration significantly increased angiogenesis in the infarct border zone and decreased cardiomyocyte apoptosis,but did not influence cardiomyocyte proliferation.In human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVEC),irisin significantly increased the phosphorylation of ERK,and promoted the migration of HUVEC detected in wound-healing and transwell chamber migration assay.The effects of irisin were blocked by the ERK inhibitor U0126.In conclusion,irisin improves cardiac function and reduces infarct size in post-MI mouse heart.The therapeutic effect is associated with its pro-angiogenic function through activating ERK signaling pathway. | Qiao Liao Shuang Qu Lu-xun Tang Liang-peng Duo-fen He Chun-yu Zeng Wei Eric Wang | 2019 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2019,40,10: | 13 |
| 4 | Recyclable adsorbent of BiFeO_3/Carbon for purifying industrial dye wastewater via photocatalytic reproducible显示文摘It is essential to prepare highly-efficiency reproducible adsorbent for purifying industrial dye wastewater. In this work, biscuit with a layered porous structure as a template is applied to prepare a photocatalytic recyclable adsorbent of BiFeO3/Carbon nanocomposites for purifying simulative industrial dye wastewater. It is found that the structure of the prepared BiFeO3/Carbon nanocomposite is related to the natural structure of the biscuit, annealing temperatures and immersing times, demonstrated by XRD, TEM, UV-Vis and adsorptive activities. Kinetics data shows that the adsorption rate of the adsorbent to the dye is rapid and fitted well with the pseudo-second-order model, that more than 80% of dyes can be removed in the beginning 30 min. The adsorption isotherm can be perfectly described by the Langmuir model as well. It can be seen from the adsorption data that the adsorption performance can reach over 90% at pH ? 2–12, which can imply its universal utilization. The prepared BiFeO_3/Carbon nanocomposites have also displayed excellent capacities(over 90% within 30 min) for adsorption of seven different dyes and their mixed one. According to the five times photocatalytic reproducible experiments, it is proved that BiFeO_3/Carbon nanocomposites show the excellent stability and reproduction for purifying simulative industrial dyes, even the sample have been placed for one year. | 5 | Methylation of phytohormones by the SABATH methyltransferases显示文摘In plants,one of the most common modifications of secondary metabolites is methylation catalyzed by various methyltransferases. | 8 | The adsorption properties of NaY zeolite for separation of ethylene glycol and 1,2-butanediol: Experiment and molecular modelling显示文摘The separation of ethylene glycol(EG)and 1,2-butanediol(1,2-BDO)azeotrope in the synthesis process of EG via coal and biomass is becoming of increasing commercial and environmental importance.Selective adsorption is deemed as the most promising methods because of energy saving and environment favorable.In this paper,NaY zeolite was used to separate 1,2-BDO from EG,and its adsorption properties was then investigated.The isotherms of EG and 1,2-BDO in vapor and liquid phases from 298 to 328 K indicated that they fitted Langmuir model quite well,and the NaY zeolite absorbent favored EG more than 1,2-BDO.The Grand Canonical Monte Carlo(GCMC)and molecular dynamics(MD)simulation techniques were conducted to investigate the competition adsorption and diffusion characteristics in different adsorption regions.It was observed that EG and 1,2-BDO molecules all have the most probable locations of the center of the 12-membered ring near the Na cations.The diffusivities of EG are lower than those of 1,2-BDO at the same adsorption concentration.At last,the breakthrough curves of the binary mixture regressed from the empirical Dose–Response model in fixed-bed column showed that the adsorption selectivity of EG could reach to as high as 2.43,verified that the NaY zeolite could effectively separate EG from 1,2-BDO.This work is also helpful for further separation of other dihydric alcohol mixtures from coal and biomass fermentation. | Pei Xiong Peng He Yixin Qu Liguo Wang Yan Cao Shuang Xu Jiaqiang Chen Muhammad Ammar Huiquan Li | 2021 | Green Energy & Environment2021,6,1: | 3 |

| 10 | Biological porous carbon encapsulated polyethylene glycol-based phase change composites for integrated electromagnetic interference shielding and thermal management capabilities显示文摘The development of functional composites with excellent thermal management capabilities and electro-magnetic interference(EMI)shielding has become extremely urgent for keeping up with the continuous improvement of the operating speed and efficiency for electronic equipment.In this study,the biolog-ical wood-derived porous carbon(WPC)was determined as the supporting material to encapsulating polyethylene glycol(PEG),and a series of WPC/PEG/Fe_(3)O_(4) phase change composites(PCCs)with excel-lent shape stability,EMI shielding and thermal management capabilities were prepared via a simple vac-uum impregnation method.The Fe_(3)O_(4) magnetic particles modified PCCs have greatly improved the EMI shielding effectiveness(SE).The EMI SE of WP-4(7.5 wt.% Fe_(3)O_(4) in PEG)can be up to 55.08 dB between 8.2−12.4 GHz,however,the WP-0 without Fe_(3)O_(4) addition is only 40.08 dB.Meanwhile,the absorption ratio of electromagnetic waves(EMW)has also increased from 75.02%(WP-0)to 85.56%(WP-4),which effectively prevents secondary pollution.In addition,after wrapping a thin layer of polydimethylsiloxane resin(PDMS),the obtained WP-4 can maintain a high heat storage capacity(109.52 J/g)and good wa-ter stability.In short,the prepared WPC/PEG/Fe_(3)O_(4) PCCs have great potential application value in the thermal management and electromagnetic shielding requirements for electronic devices. | Shuang Liu Mengjie Sheng Hao Wu Xuetao Shi Xiang Lu Jinping Qu | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,18: | 3 |

| 12 | Comparative Study of the Genetic Diversity, Antimicrobial Resistance, and Pathogenicity of Aeromonas Isolates from Clinical Patients and Healthy Individuals显示文摘Objective This study was performed to compare the genetic diversity,virulence,and antimicrobial resistance of Aeromonas strains isolated from patients and healthy individuals.Methods A total of 38 clinical strains and 19 strains from healthy individuals were isolated from the samples collected in Ma’anshan City,Anhui Province.Their taxonomy was investigated using concatenated gyrB-cpn60 sequences,and their resistance to 12 antibiotics was evaluated.The pathogenicity of these strains was examined through beta-hemolysis,protease activity,and virulence gene assays.Results The 57 Aeromonas strains were divided into 55 sequence types.Of these types,21 were novel,suggesting that their genetic diversity was high.These Aeromonas isolates could be divided into 7 species,and the positive rates of beta-hemolysis and protease activity were 49.1%and 73.7%,respectively.The detection rate of clinical patients in terms of beta-hemolysis and protease activity was higher than that of healthy individuals.Among the four most common Aeromonas strains,A.dhakensis had the highest detection rate of virulence genes.The multidrug resistance rate of the clinical isolates was much higher than that of the strains isolated from healthy individuals.Conclusions The taxonomy,virulence properties,and antibiotic resistance of Aeromonas isolates from patients differ from those of the isolates from healthy individuals. | MENG Shuang DU Xiao Li WANG Yong Lu QU Feng Tian XIE Gui Lin ZHOU Hai Jian HU Jin Rui QIN Zheng WANG Yue KAN Biao CUI Zhi Gang | 2021 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2021,34,6: | 2 |

| 18 | Bi-specific T1 positive-contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging molecular probe for hepatocellular carcinoma in an orthotopic mouse model显示文摘BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality.HCC-targeted magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)is an effective noninvasive diagnostic method that involves targeting clinically-related HCC biomarkers,such as alpha-fetoprotein(AFP)or glypican-3(GPC3),with iron oxide nanoparticles.However,in vivo studies of HCC-targeted MRI utilize single-target iron oxide nanoprobes as negative(T2)contrast agents,which might weaken their future clinical applications due to tumor heterogeneity and negative MRI contrast.Ultra-small superparamagnetic iron oxide(USPIO)nanoparticles(approximately 5 nm)are potential optimal positive(T1)contrast agents.We previously verified the efficiency of AFP/GPC3-double-antibody-labeled iron oxide MR molecular probe in vitro.AIM To validate the effectiveness of a bi-specific probe in vivo for enhancing T1-weighted positive contrast to diagnose the early-stage HCC.METHODS The single-and double-antibody-conjugated 5-nm USPIO probes,including antiAFP-USPIO(UA),anti-GPC3-USPIO(UG),and anti-AFP-USPIO-anti-GPC3(UAG),were synthesized.T1-and T2-weighted MRI were performed on day 10 after establishment of the orthotopic HCC mouse model.Following intravenous injection of U,UA,UG,and UAG probes,T1-and T2-weighted images were obtained at 12,12,and 32 h post-injection.At the end of scanning,mice were euthanized,and a histologic analysis was performed on tumor samples.RESULTS T1-and T2-weighted MRI showed that absolute tumor-to-background ratios in UAG-treated HCC mice peaked at 24 h post-injection,with the T1-and T2-weighted signals increasing by 46.7%and decreasing by 11.1%,respectively,relative to pre-injection levels.Additionally,T1-weighted contrast in the UAG-treated group at 24 h post-injection was enhanced 1.52-,2.64-,and 4.38-fold compared to those observed for single-targeted anti-GPC3-USPIO,anti-AFP-USPIO,and nontargeted USPIO probes,respectively.Comparison of U-,UA-,UG-,and UAG-treated tumor sections revealed that UAG-treated mice exhibited increased stained regions compared to those observed in UG-or UA-treated mice.CONCLUSION The bi-specific T1-positive contrast-enhanced MRI probe(UAG)for HCC demonstrated increased specificity and sensitivity to diagnose early-stage HCC irrespective of tumor size and/or heterogeneity. | Xiao-Hong Ma Kun Chen Shuang Wang Si-Yun Liu Deng-Feng Li Yong-Tao Mi Zhi-Yuan Wu Chun-Feng Qu Xin-Ming Zhao | 2022 | World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2022,14,4: | 1 |
| 19 | Itraconazole therapy for infant hemangioma:Two case reports显示文摘BACKGROUND Infantile hemangiomas(IHs)are the most common childhood benign tumors,showing distinctive progression characteristics and outcomes.Due to the high demand for aesthetics among parents of IH babies,early intervention is critical in some cases.β-Adrenergic blockers and corticosteroids are first-line medications for IHs,while itraconazole,an antifungal medicine,has shown positive results in recent years.CASE SUMMARY In the present study,itraconazole was applied to treat two IH cases.The therapeutic course lasted 80-90 d,during which the visible lesion faded by more than 90%.Moreover,no obvious side effects were reported,and the compliance of the baby and parents was desirable.CONCLUSION Although these outcomes further support itraconazole as an effective therapeutic choice for IHs,large-scale clinical and basic studies are still warranted to improve further treatment. | Zhe Liu Sha Lv Shuang Wang Sheng-Ming Qu Gui-Yun Zhang Yi-Tong Lin Lei Yang Fu-Qiu Li | 2021 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,28: | 1 |
| 20 | Portable quantitative phase microscope for material metrology and biological imaging显示文摘Quantitative phase microscopy(QPM)has emerged as an important tool for material metrology and biological imaging.For broader adoption in those applications,we have proposed and demonstrated a new portable off-axis QPM method,which works in both transmission and reflection modes to meet different sample measurement requirements.The temporal and spatial sensitivities of our system,as quantified by optical path-length difference values,are 0.65 nm and 1.04 nm,respectively.To demonstrate its applicability for a wide range of applications,we deployed our system for profiling transistor gold electrode samples,observing red blood cell membrane fluctuations,imaging living cells flowing in a microfluidic chip,etc.Our portable QPM system has a low-cost design and involves a simple and robust phase-retrieval algorithm that we envision will allow for broader deployment at different environmental settings,including in resource-limited sites and integration with other metrology or imaging modalities. | Mengxuan Niu Gang Luo Xin Shu Fuyang Qu Shuang Zhou Yi-Ping Ho Ni Zhao Renjie Zhou | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,7: | 1 |
