1Maximum packing densities of basic 3D objects显示文摘Numerical simulation results show that the upper bound order of random packing densities of basic 3D objects is cube (0.78) > ellipsoid (0.74) > cylinder (0.72) > spherocylinder (0.69) > tetrahedron (0.68) > cone (0.67) > sphere (0.64), while the upper bound order of ordered packing densities of basic 3D objects is cube (1.0) > cylinder and spherocylinder (0.9069) > cone (0.7854) > tetrahedron (0.7820) > ellipsoid (0.7707) > sphere (0.7405); these two orders are significantly different. The random packing densities of ellipsoid, cylinder, spherocylinder, tetrahedron and cone are closely related to their shapes. 2Sphericities of non-spherical objects显示文摘Sphericity, as one of the most important shape parameter for non-spherical objects, is extensively applied in evaluating the porosity or packing density of particles. In this paper, the sphericities of common non- spherical objects are deduced and investigated. Maximum sphericities and optimum shapes of these objects are presented as well. A decreasing order of sphericity from sphere (1.0) to regular tetrahedron (0.671) for objects with constant sphericity is given. Similar trends are found in most sphericity-aspect ratio relationships, which exhibit single peak and the sphericity increases with the growth of aspect ratio before the peak point and decreases afterward. The peak loci of aspect ratio are all around 1.0 which makes the shape approaching to a sphere. 5Packing properties of binary mixtures in disordered sphere systems显示文摘Mixtures of binary spheres are numerically simulated using a relaxation algorithm to investigate the effects of volume fraction and size ratio.A complete profile of the packing properties of binary spheres is given.The density curve with respect to the volume fraction has a triangular shape with a peak at 70%large spheres.The density of the mixture increases with the size ratio,but the growth becomes slow in the case of a large size disparity.The volume fraction and size ratio effects are reflected in the height and movement,respectively,of specific peaks in the radial distribution functions.The structure of the mixture is further analyzed in terms of contact types,and the mean coordination number is demonstrated to be primarily affected by 'large-small' contacts.A novel method for estimating the average relative excluded volume for binary spheres by weighting the percentages of contact types is proposed and extended to polydisperse packings of certain size distributions.The method can be applied to explain the density trends of polydisperse mixtures in disordered sphere systems.Lingyi Meng Peng Lu Shuixiang Li 2014Particuology2014,12,5:3
6A computational investigation on random packings of sphere-spherocylinder mixtures显示文摘Random packings of binary mixtures of spheres and spherocylinders with the same volume and the same diameter were simulated by a sphere assembly model and relaxation algorithm. Simulation results show that, independently of the component volume fraction, the mixture packing density increases and then decreases with the growth of the aspect ratio of spherocylinders, and the packing density reaches its maximum at the aspect ratio of 0.35. With the same volume particles, results show that the dependence of the mixture packing density on the volume fraction of spherocylinders is approximately linear. With the same diameter particles, the relationship between the mixture packing density and component volume fraction is also roughly linear for short spherocylinders, but when the aspect ratio of spherocylinders is greater than 1.6, the curves turn convex which means the packing of the mixture can be denser than either the sphere or spherocylinder packing alone. To validate the sphere assembly model and relaxation algorithm, binary mixtures of spheres and random packings of spherocylinders were also simulated. 8Carbon dioxide/calcium oxide responsive behavior and application potential of amine emulsion显示文摘Green and low cost CO_(2) and CaO were used to stimulate amine emulsions to reveal the responsive behavior of amine emulsions.On this basis,oil-based drilling fluids responsive to CO_(2) and CaO were formulated and their properties were evaluated.The results showed that the amine emulsions inversed from water-in-oil state to oil-in-water state readily and their rheological behavior underwent transitions of decreasing,rising again and decreasing again via induction by CO_(2).These CO_(2) responsive behaviors could be reversed by CaO.Oil-based drilling fluids prepared based on the amine emulsions with oil-water volume ratios of 50:50 to 70:30,densities of 1.4-2.0 g/cm^(3) had good rheological and filtration properties at 160℃;and be readily cleaned up using CO_(2) bubbling.The useless solid phase with low density could be removed efficiently via reducing the viscosity of emulsion by CO_(2) and the residual liquid phase could be restored to the original state by CaO and reused to prepare drilling fluid.The mechanisms analysis indicated that CO_(2)/CaO induced the reversible conversion between amine emulsifiers and their salts,which enabled the reversible regulation of both the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of amine emulsifiers and the emulsion particles’size and finally caused the controllable-reversion of the form and rheology of amine emulsion.REN Yanjun LU Yanyan JIANG Guancheng ZHOU Wenjing WU Liansong YAO Rugang XIE Shuixiang 2021Petroleum Exploration and Development2021,48,5:1

14Establishment of a rat model of severe spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage显示文摘Background:Severe intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH)is the most devastating subtype of stroke resulting in high mortality and disability.At present,the development of targeted treatments to minimize the high morbidity and mortality is limited partly due to the lack of a severe ICH animal model.In this study,we aimed to establish an accurate severe ICH model in rats and examine the pathological and physiological changes associated with ICH.Methods:A rat model of severe ICH model was established by intrastriatal injection of autologous blood using different blood volumes(ICH 100μL group,ICH 130μL group,ICH 160μL group,ICH 170μL group,and ICH 180μL group).The mortality was assessed during the 28-day post-ICH period.Short-and long-term neurological deficits were evaluated using the Longa method,foot fault,falling latency,and Morris water maze tests.Brain water content,hematoma volume,hemoglobin content,and magnetic resonance imaging were assessed to determine the extent of brain injury.Immunofluorescence staining was conducted to examine microglial activation and neuronal apoptosis.Hematoxylin and eosin(H&E)staining,lung water content,and western blotting were used to assess lung injury following ICH.Results:The mortality of ICH rats increased significantly with an increase in autologous blood injection.The 28-day mortality in the 100μL,130μL,160μL,170μL,and 180μL ICH groups were 5%,20%,40%,75%,and 100%,respectively.A significantly higher 28-day mortality was observed in the ICH 160μL group compared to the ICH 100μL group.The ICH 160μL group exhibited significantly increased neurological deficits,brain edema,hematoma volume,and hemoglobin content compared to the sham group.Compared with the sham operation group,the activation of microglia and neuronal death in ICH 160μL rats increased.The use of H&E staining and western blotting demonstrated that disruption of the intra-alveolar structure,alveolar edema,and infiltration of inflammatory cells and cytokines into the lung tissue were more severe in the ICH 160μL group than the sham group.Conclusions:A severe ICH model in rats was successfully established using an injection of autologous blood at a volume of 160μL.This model may provide a valuable tool to examine the pathological mechanisms and potential therapeutic interventions of severe ICH.Shuixiang Deng Shengjie Feng Yuewen Xin Yu He Yao Wang Mi Tian Ye Gong 2024Journal of Intensive Medicine2024,4,1:0
15Knockdown Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein family member 3(WASF3)inhibits colorectal cancer metastasis and sensitizes to cisplatin through targeting ZNF471显示文摘:Colorectal cancer(CRC)is a heterogeneous cancer,and many risk factors for colorectal cancer have been established.For CRC metastasis,tumor cell migration,adhesion as well as invasion are important processes.Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein family member 3(WASF3)is necessary for metastasis of various types of cancers.However,its role in CRC progression has not been fully elucidated.This study examined the in vitro functional roles of WASF3 in the CRC and explored the underlying molecular mechanisms.We used siRNA-WASF3 to gene silence WASF3 in colon cancer cell(HCT116)in vitro.The effects of WASF3 silencing on HCT116 cell apoptosis,proliferation,migration,as well as invasion were assessed by flow cytometry,CCK-8,and transwell assays.ZNF471 protein expressions were detected by immunofluorescence staining and RT-PCR.Moreover,the effects of ZNF471 were studied on a series of in vitro antitumor-promoting assays using HCT116.WASF3 knockdown expression using small interfering RNA(siRNA)ameliorated CRC cell proliferation,anchorage-independent growth,invasion,and metastasis.Furthermore,we observed that WASF3 contributed to upregulating the metastasis signaling pathway through inhibiting the expression of ZNF471.Our study suggests that targeting WASF3 signaling might be a novel therapeutic strategy for treating CRC.ZHIYONG ZHANG YAN PAN YAN ZHAO MUDAN REN YARUI LI YUN FENG GUIFANG LU SHUIXIANG HE 2022BIOCELL2022,46,8:0

There is a contractible 'Argobuccinum' form proboscis in the anterior extremity of its body, and the buccal cavity lies in the anterior part of the proboscis, with a pair of jaws and a piece of radular ribbon. The jaws have many neatly arraned sickle- shaped sharpen denticles. Its dentition formula of radula is 2- (7) 1’ (5-6) I (5-6) .1 (7) .2. In the middle of oesophagus, there is an expanded crop, which has the function of temporary food stor- age and preliminarily digesting food. The stomach is U-shaped and there are 2 entrances for liver ducts in its ventral side. The intestine is short and can be divided into 2 parts based on the structure of epithelia of their inner walls. The inner wall of foreintestine is stratified columnar epithelium, but the inner wall of hindintestine is pesudostratified columnar epithelium. The salivary gland of C. pileare is toxic gland and the toxin extracted from it plays a great role on its predation. 20Role of H2 receptor blocker famotidine over the clinical recovery of COVID-19 patients: A randomized controlled trial显示文摘BACKGROUND Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a global pandemic putting the population at a high risk of infection-related health hazards,mortality and a potential failure of proper medical therapies.Therefore,it is necessary to evaluate the potential use of the existing drugs that could be used as options for the medical management of COVID-19 patients.AIM To evaluate the role of the H_(2) receptor blocker“famotidine”in COVID-19 illness.METHODS This study was done on seriously ill COVID-19 patients admitted to the intensive care unit(ICU)from different institutes in Bangladesh.Patients were divided into famotidine treatment group“A”(famotidine 40 mg to 60 mg oral formulation every 8 h with other treatment as given),and control group“B”(treatment as given).National early warning score(NEWS)-2,and sequential organ failure assessment day-1 score was calculated to evaluate the outcome.Outcomes were evaluated by the time required for clinical improvement,characterized as duration required from enrollment to the achievement of NEWS-2 of≤2 maintained for 24 h;time to symptomatic recovery,defined as the duration in days(from randomization)required for the recovery of the COVID-19 symptoms;mortality rate;duration of ICU and hospital stay;total period of hospitalization;the rate of supplementary oxygen requirement;the computed tomography(CT)chest recovery(%),the time required for the viral clearance and“NEWS-2”on discharge.RESULTS A total of 208 patients were enrolled in this study with 104 patients in each group.The famotidine treatment group had comparatively better recovery of 75%and a low mortality of 25%than the control with a recovery of 70%and a mortality of 30%.Duration of clinical improvement(group A 9.53 d,group B 14.21 d);hospitalization period among the recovered patients(group A 13.04 d,group B 16.31 d),pulmonary improvement in chest CT(group A 21.7%,group B 13.2%),and the time for viral clearance(group A 20.7 d,group B 23.8 d)were found to be statistically significant P≤0.05.However,the Kaplan Meier survival test was not significant among the two study groups,P=0.989.CONCLUSION According to our study,treatment with famotidine achieved a better clinical outcome compared to the control group in severe COVID-19 illness,although no significant survival benefit was found.Abu Taiub Mohammed Mohiuddin Chowdhury Aktar Kamal Md Kafil Uddin Abbas Md Rezaul Karim Md Ahsan Ali Shubhashis Talukder H M Hamidullah Mehedi Hamid Hassan Abul Hossain Shahin Yarui Li Shuixiang He 2022World Journal of Clinical Cases2022,10,23:0
