| 1 | Converting lateral scanning into axial focusing to speed up three-dimensional microscopy显示文摘In optical microscopy,the slow axial scanning rate of the objective or the sample has traditionally limited the speed of volumetric imaging.Recently,by conjugating either a movable mirror to the image plane in a remote-focusing geometry or an electrically tuneable lens(ETL)to the back focal plane,rapid axial scanning has been achieved.However,mechanical actuation of a mirror limits the axial scanning rate(usually only 10–100 Hz for piezoelectric or voice coil-based actuators),while ETLs introduce spherical and higher-order aberrations that prevent high-resolution imaging.In an effort to overcome these limitations,we introduce a novel optical design that transforms a lateral-scan motion into a spherical aberration-free axial scan that can be used for high-resolution imaging.Using a galvanometric mirror,we scan a laser beam laterally in a remote-focusing arm,which is then back-reflected from different heights of a mirror in the image space.We characterize the optical performance of this remote-focusing technique and use it to accelerate axially swept light-sheet microscopy by an order of magnitude,allowing the quantification of rapid vesicular dynamics in three dimensions.We also demonstrate resonant remote focusing at 12 kHz with a two-photon raster-scanning microscope,which allows rapid imaging of brain tissues and zebrafish cardiac dynamics with diffraction-limited resolution. | Tonmoy Chakraborty Bingying Chen Stephan Daetwyler Bo-Jui Chang Oliver Vanderpoorten Etai Sapoznik Clemens F.Kaminski Tuomas P.J.Knowles Kevin M.Dean Reto Fiolka | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 4 |

| 6 | Impact of COVID-19 on daily travel behaviour:a literature review显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic made a perceptible impact on daily travel behaviourworldwide,especially through mode shifts and changes in trip frequencieswith possible long-term repercussions.Non-therapeutic interventions adoptedworldwide(e.g.lockdowns and travel restrictions)to reduce viral contagion need to be understood holistically because it is challenging for people to followthrough these policies and stay home in developing nations.In this context,it is important to have a clear idea of howCOVID-19 is shaping the mobility pattern and what policies must be taken(if not yet)to minimize viral transmission as well as develop a sustainable transportation system.To this end,this study presents a systematically analysed review of 56 international literatures from academic sources(Google Scholar,Scopus and Web of Science)on the impacts of COVID-19 on travel behaviour and focuses on policymaking measures.This article illustrates the modal shift,variation in frequencies of different trips and how sociodemographic characteristics have influenced the mobility pattern in response to COVID-19.Innate changes in travel patterns compared to the pre-COVID-19 era were observed.A noticeable apprehension on viral transmission in public transit has reduced public transit usage while increasing that of private vehicles.This poses challenges to develop sustainable transportation.This study concludes by discussing intervention measures to support transportation planners and policymakers to deal with the current pandemic as well as any future pandemics. | Tonmoy Paul Rohit Chakraborty Nafis Anwari | 2022 | Transportation Safety and Environment2022,4,2: | 1 |

| 12 | Evaluation of VSK separation in the classification of two mineralogically different iron ore fines显示文摘With gradually diminishing Fe grade in tandem with the ever-increasing demand for high-grade iron ores,iron ore industries are now focusing on the beneficiation of low-grade iron ore fines,mainly considered waste.Besides,the scarcity of water at many of the mines’sites and the new water conservation policies of the governments have necessitated research on suitable dry beneficiation routes.In this context,an effort has been made to evaluate the efficacy of a dry classification unit,such as the VSK separator,in upgrading the iron values of two low-grade Indian iron ore fines,named Sample 1 and Sample 2.The mineralogical studies,involving scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction,suggest that Sample 1 is a low-grade blue dust sample(51.2wt%Fe)containing hematite and quartz as the major minerals,while Sample 2(53.3wt%Fe)shows the presence of goethite in addition to hematite and quartz.The experiments,carried out using Box-Benkhen statistical design,indicate that blower speed,followed by feed rate,is the most influencing operating parameter in obtaining a good product in the VSK separator.At optimum levels of the operating factors,a fines product with~55wt%Fe at a yield of~40%can be obtained from Sample 1,while Sample 2 can be upgraded to~56wt%Fe at a yield of~85%.The results suggest that the VSK separator can be employed as an efficient intermediate unit operation in a processing circuit to upgrade the iron contents of iron ore fines. | Deepak Nayak Tonmoy Kundu Nilima Dash Shiva Kumar I.Angadi S.K.Chaurasiya G.E.Sreedhar T.V.S.Subrahmanyam Swagat S.Rath | 2023 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,2: | 0 |
