| 3 | Downregulation of LINC01296 suppresses non-small-cell lung cancer via targeting miR-143-3p/ATG2B显示文摘The 5-year survival rate of lung cancer is one of the lowest among various malignant tumors.Long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs),noncoding RNAs longer than 200 nucleotides,can function either as tumor suppressors or as oncogenes.The aim of this study is to investigate the function of lncRNA LINC01296 and its molecular mechanism in non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC).According to the Gene Expression Omnibus database,10 differentially expressed lncRNAs in NSCLC cells and patient tissues are upregulated.LINC01296 is the one with the most significant overexpression.Knockdown of LINC01296 inhibits the growth and migration,arrests the cell cycle,and promotes the apoptosis of NSCLC cells.Knocking down LINC01296 in vivo suppresses tumor growth and metastasis.LINC01296 also acts as the sponge of miR-143-3p.Lowering the expression of LINC01296 leads to decreased expression of autophagy-related 2B,ATG2B,a target gene of miR-143-3p.Moreover,downregulation of LINC01296 promotes paclitaxel sensitivity in NSCLC.These results demonstrated that the LINC01296/miR-143-3p/ATG2B axis is crucial in promoting the development of NSCLC and paclitaxel resistance.Our study may provide new ideas for the further research of clinical chemotherapy of NSCLC in the near future. | Yanli Li Hui Zhang Jing Guo Wanqiu Li Xianyi Wang Caiyan Zhang Qiangling Sun Zhongliang Ma | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,12: | 8 |
| 4 | NDUFAB1 confers cardio-protection by enhancing mitochondrial bioenergetics through coordination of respiratory complex and supercomplex assembly显示文摘The impairment of mitochondrial bioenergetics,often coupled with exaggerated reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, is a fundamental disease mechanism in organs with a high demand for energy, including the heart. Building a more robust and safer cellular powerhouse holds the promise for protecting these organs in stressful conditions. Here, we demonstrate that NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase subunit AB1 (NDUFAB1), also known as mitochondrial acyl carrier protein, acts as a powerful cardio-protector by conferring greater capacity and efficiency of mitochondrial energy metabolism. In particular, NDUFAB1 not only serves as a complex I subunit, but also coordinates the assembly of respiratory complexes I, II, and III, and supercomplexes, through regulating iron-sulfur biosynthesis and complex I subunit stability. Cardiac-specific deletion of Ndufab1 in mice caused defective bioenergetics and elevated ROS levels, leading to progressive dilated cardiomyopathy and eventual heart failure and sudden death. Overexpression of Ndufab1 effectively enhanced mitochondrial bioenergetics while limiting ROS production and protected the heart against ischemia-reperfusion injury. | 5 | Microbial diversity in the saline-alkali soil of a coastal Tamarix chinensis woodland at Bohai Bay, China显示文摘Soil salinization or alkalization is a form of soil desertification. Coastal saline-alkali soil represents a type of desert and a key system in the network of ecosystems at the continent-ocean interface. Tamarix chinensis is a drought-tolerant plant that is widely distributed in the coastal saline-alkali soil of Bohai Bay, China. In this study, we used 454 pyrosequencing techniques to investigate the characteristics and distribution of the microbial diversity in coastal saline-alkali soil of the T. chinensis woodland at Bohai Bay. A total of 20,315 sequences were obtained, representing 19 known bacterial phyla and a large proportion of unclassified bacteria at the phylum level. Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria and Actinobacteria were the predominant phyla. The coverage of T. chinensis affected the microbial composition. At the phylum level, the relative abundance of γ-Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes decreased whereas Actinobacteria increased with the increasing coverage of T. chinensis. At the genus level, the proportions of Steroidobacter, Lechevalieria, Gp3 and Gp4 decreased with the increase of the vegetation coverage whereas the proportion of Nocardioides increased. A cluster analysis showed that the existing T. chinensis changed the niches for the microorganisms in the coastal saline-alkali soil, which caused changes in the microbial community. The analysis also distinguished the microbial community structure of the marginal area from those of the dense area and sparse area. Furthermore, the results also indicated that the distance to the seashore line could also affect certain groups of soil bacteria in this coastal saline-alkali soil, such as the family Cryomorphaceae and class Flavobacteria, whose population decreased as the distance increased. | 6 | Effects of copper mining on heavy metal contamination in a rice agrosystem in the Xiaojiang River Basin, southwest China显示文摘Metallic ore mining causes heavy metal pollution worldwide.However,the fate of heavy metals in agrosystems with long-term contamination has been poorly studied.Dongchuan District(Yunnan,southwest China),located at the middle reaches of the Xiaojiang River,is a well-known 2000-year-old copper mining site.In this work,a survey on soil heavy metal contents was conducted using a handheld X-ray fluorescence instrument to understand the general contamination of heavy metals in the Xiaojiang River Basin.Furthermore,river water,soil,and rice samples at six sites along the fluvial/alluvial fans of the river were collected and analyzed to implement an environmental assessment and an evaluation of irrigated agrosystem.V,Zn,and Cu soil levels(1724,1047,and 696mg·kg-1,respectively)far exceeded background levels.The geo-accumulation indexes(Igeo)showed that cultivated soils near the mining sites were polluted by Cd and Cu,followed by Zn,V,Pb,Cr,Ni,and U.The pollution index(Pi)indicated that rice in the area was heavily polluted with Pb,Cr,Cd,Ni,Zn,and Cu.The difference in orders of metal concentrations between the soil and rice heavy metal contamination was related to the proportion of bioavailable heavy metals in the soil.The crop consumption risk assessment showed that the hazard quotient exceeded the safe threshold,indicating a potential carcinogenic risk to consumers.The Nemerow integrated pollution index and health index indicated that the middle of the river(near the mining area)was the heaviest polluted site. | Wanqiu Pu Jiaqi Sun Fangfang Zhang Xingyue Wen Wenhu Liu Chengmin Huang | 2019 | Acta Geochimica2019,38,5: | 4 |

Here, we provide a novel micro/nano-assembling method, which is accurate and efficient, especially suitable for the fabrication of micro/nano-scale electronic devices. Using this method, a self-powered ZnO/Sb-doped ZnO nanowire p–n homojunction ultraviolet detector(UVD) was fabricated, and the detailed photoelectric properties were tested. At a reverse bias of -0.1 V under UV light illumination, the photoresponse sensitivity of the UVD was 26.5 and the rise/decay time of the UVD was as short as 30 ms. | 12 | Potassium ferrate pretreatment promotes short chain fatty acids yield and antibiotics reduction in acidogenic fermentation of sewage sludge显示文摘During the acidogenic fermentation converting waste activated sludge (WAS) into shortchain fatty acids (SCFA), hydrolysis of complex organic polymers is a limiting step and the transformation of harmful substances (such as antibiotics) during acidogenic fermentation is unknown. In this study, potassium ferrate (KFeO) oxidation was used as a pretreatment strategy for WAS acidogenic fermentation to increase the hydrolysis of sludge and destruct the harmful antibiotics. Pretreatment with KFeOcan effectively increase the SCFA production during acidogenic fermentation and change the distribution of SCFA components.With the dosage of 0.2 g/g TS, the maximum SCFA yield was 4823 mg COD/L, which is 28.3times that of the control group;acetic acid accounts for more than 90% of the total SCFA. The higher dosage (0.5 g/g TS) can further increase the proportion of acetic acid, but inhibit the overall performance of SCFA production. Apart from the promotion of hydrolysis and acidogenesis, KFeOpretreatment can also simultaneously oxidizes and degrades part of the antibiotics in the sludge. When the dosage is 0.5 g/g TS, the degradation efficacy of antibiotics is the most significant, and the contents of ofloxacin, azithromycin, and tetracycline in the sludge are reduced by 69%, 42%, and 50%, respectively. | 17 | Simulations of Eurasian Winter Temperature Trends in Coupled and Uncoupled CFSv2显示文摘Conflicting results have been presented regarding the link between Arctic sea-ice loss and midlatitude cooling, particularly over Eurasia. This study analyzes uncoupled(atmosphere-only) and coupled(ocean–atmosphere) simulations by the Climate Forecast System, version 2(CFSv2), to examine this linkage during the Northern Hemisphere winter, focusing on the simulation of the observed surface cooling trend over Eurasia during the last three decades. The uncoupled simulations are Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project(AMIP) runs forced with mean seasonal cycles of sea surface temperature(SST)and sea ice, using combinations of SST and sea ice from different time periods to assess the role that each plays individually,and to assess the role of atmospheric internal variability. Coupled runs are used to further investigate the role of internal variability via the analysis of initialized predictions and the evolution of the forecast with lead time.The AMIP simulations show a mean warming response over Eurasia due to SST changes, but little response to changes in sea ice. Individual runs simulate cooler periods over Eurasia, and this is shown to be concurrent with a stronger Siberian high and warming over Greenland. No substantial differences in the variability of Eurasian surface temperatures are found between the different model configurations. In the coupled runs, the region of significant warming over Eurasia is small at short leads, but increases at longer leads.
