1Surfactant induced reservoir wettability alteration:Recent theoretical and experimental advances in enhanced oil recovery显示文摘Reservoir wettability plays an important role in various oil recovery processes.The origin and evolution of reservoir wettability were critically reviewed to better understand the complexity of wettability due to interactions in crude oil-brine-rock system,with introduction of different wetting states and their influence on fluid distribution in pore spaces.The effect of wettability on oil recovery of waterflooding was then summarized from past and recent research to emphasize the importance of wettability in oil displacement by brine.The mechanism of wettability alteration by different surfactants in both carbonate and sandstone reservoirs was analyzed,concerning their distinct surface chemistry,and different interaction patterns of surfactants with components on rock surface.Other concerns such as the combined effect of wettability alteration and interfacial tension (IFT) reduction on the imbibition process was also taken into account.Generally,surfactant induced wettability alteration for enhanced oil recovery is still in the stage of laboratory investigation.The successful application of this technique relies on a comprehensive survey of target reservoir conditions,and could be expected especially in low permeability fractured reservoirs and forced imbibition process.Wang Yefei XU Huaimin Yu Weizhao Bai Baojun Song Xinwang Zhang Jichao 2011Petroleum Science2011,8,4:14
2Cisplatin-induced premature senescence with concomitant reduction of gap junctions in human fibroblasts显示文摘To examine the role of gap junctions in cell senescence,the changes of gap junctions in cisplatin-induced premature senescence of primary cultured fibroblasts were studied and compared with the replicative senescent human fibroblasts.Dye transfer assay for gap junction function and immunofluorescent staining for connexin 43 protein distribution were done respectively. Furthermore,cytofluorimetry and DAPI fluorescence staining were performed for cell cycle and apoptosis analysis. p53 gene expression level was detected with indirect immunofluorescence. We found that cisplatin (10 mM) treatment could block cell growth cycle at G1 and induced premature senescence. The premature senescence changes included high frequency of apoptosis,elevation of p53 expression,loss of membranous gap junctions and reduction of dye-transfer capacity. These changes were comparable to the changes of replicative senescence of human fibroblasts. It was also concluded that cisplatin could induce premature senescence concomitant with inhibition of gap junctions in the fibroblasts. Loss of functional gap junctions from the cell membrane may account for the reduced intercellular communication in the premature senescent fibroblasts. 3Effect of Helicobacter pylori VacA on gene expression of gastric cancer cells显示文摘AIM: To determine the effect of Helicobacter pylori VacA on gene expression of gastric cancer cells.METHODS: Gene expression profile of a gastric cancer cell line, SGC7901, after challenged by VacA+ and VacA- Hpylori broth culture supernatants (BCS), was detected by the cDNA microarray technique. Cytoskeleton changes of SGC7901 and HeLa cells were observed through high-resolution laser scanning confocal microscopy.RESULTS: A total of 16 000 cDNA clones were detected.The percentage of genes with heterogeneous expression in SGC7901 cells challenged by VacA+ BCS reached 5%,compared with that challenged by Vac A- BCS. There were 865 genes/EST with 2-fold differential expression levels and 198 genes/EST with 3-fold differential expression levels.Host of these genes were involved in vital cell events including signal transduction, regulation of gene expression, cytoskeleton,apoptosis, stress response and inflammation, cell cycle and tumor development. Cells co-cultured with VacA+ BCS showed collapsed and disrupted microtubular cytoarchitecture.CONCLUSION: VacA+ BCS can disrupt cytoskeletal architecture,likely through affecting the expression of cytoskeleton-associated genes, directly induce the expression of tumor promoter-related genes and inhibit the expression of tumor suppressor genes, thus favoring the development of tumors.VacA+ BCS can also alter the expression of inflammation and stress response genes. 4Age Structure of Females in a Breeding Population of Echinotriton chinhaiensis(Caudata:Salamandridae) and Its Conservation Implication显示文摘Knowledge of life history is important for understanding possible connections to population declines.Here,we investigated the female age structure and fecundity of Echinotriton chinhaiensis,one of the most endangered salamanders in the world,using skeletochronology based on specimens collected in 2008 and 2009 from a population in Ruiyansi,northeast of Ningbo,Zhejiang,China.The results showed that most female salamanders were between 5and 6 years of age,with the minimal reproductive age,predicted to be 3 years,and the clutch size correlated to the body size.We argue that both delayed attainment of sexual maturity and low fecundity make this species more vulnerable to extinction.Weizhao YANG Chang LIU Jianping JIANG Cheng LI Feng XIE 2011Asian Herpetological Research2011,2,2:4
5Mathematical modeling of fluid flow, heat transfer and inclusion transport in a four strand tundish显示文摘Mathematical simulation was used for trouble-shooting and optimization. By the mathematical simulation, fluid flow and heat transfer of molten-steel in a four-strand tundish of a billet caster under different conditions (bare tundish and tundish with flow control device) were analyzed. The results showed that (1) the tundish with flow control device (FCD) has an important effect on the fluid pattern and temperature distribution; (2) the unsteady solving method was used to model the inclusion motions at different time periods, and it showed that the FCD is advantageous to separate the nonmetallic inclusions. According to the simulation results, the main problem existing in the industry production was found, and some helpful measurements were executed. Consequently, the large nonmetallic inclusions were separated, and the content of total oxygen was reduced. 6Printed Arabic Character Recognition Using HMM显示文摘The Arabic Language has a very rich vocabulary.More than 200 million people speak this language as their native speaking,and over 1 billion people use it in several religion-related activities.In this paper a new technique is presented for recognizing printed Arabic characters.After a word is segmented,each character/word is entirely transformed into a feature vector.The features of printed Arabic characters include strokes and bays in various directions,endpoints,intersection points,loops,dots and zigzags.The word skeleton is decomposed into a number of links in orthographic order,and then it is transferred into a sequence of symbols using vector quantization.Single hidden Markov model has been used for recognizing the printed Arabic characters.Experimental results show that the high recognition rate depends on the number of states in each sample.AbbasH.Hassin Xiang-LongTang Jia-FengLiu WeiZhao 2004Journal of Computer Science & Technology2004,19,4:3

16Expression of heat-resistant β-glucosidase in Escherichia coli and its application in the production of gardenia blue显示文摘Gardenia blue is a natural blue pigment that is environmentally friendly,non-toxic,and stable.The hydrolysis of geniposide,catalyzed byβ-glucosidase,is a critical step in the production process of gardenia blue.However,β-glucosidase is not resistant to high temperatures,limiting the production of gardenia blue.In this study,we investigated the effectiveness of a heat-resistant glucosidase obtained from Thermotoga maritima in the production of gardenia blue.The enzyme exhibited a maximum activity of 10.60 U/mL at 90℃.Single-factor and orthogonal analyses showed that exogenously expressed heat-resistant glucosidase reacted with 470.3μg/mL geniposide and 13.5μg/mL glycine at 94.2℃,producing a maximum yield of 26.2857μg/mL of gardenia blue after 156.6 min.When applied to the dyeing of denim,gardenia blue produced by this method yielded excellent results;the best color-fastness was achieved when an iron ion mordant was used.This study revealed the feasibility and application potential of microbial production of gardenia blue.Wenxi Li Jielin Li Ying Xu Yan Huang Shuqi Xu Zirui Ou Xiaoli Long Xinyu Li Xinyu Liu Zening Xiao Jiaqi Huang Weizhao Chen 2021Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2021,6,3:1
