5Porous SiC ceramics fabricated by quick freeze casting and solid state sintering显示文摘Porous SiC ceramics with uniform microstructure were fabricated by quick freezing in liquid nitrogen and solid state sintering.Poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) was added as binder and pore morphology controller in this work.The microstructure and mechanical properties of porous SiC ceramics could be controlled by the composition of the aqueous slurries.Both solid content of the slurries and PVA content impacted on the pore structures and mechanical properties of the porous SiC ceramics.The solid content of slurries and PVA content varied from 60 to 67.5 wt%and 2-6 wt%,respectively.Besides,the grain morphology of ceramics was also tailored by changing the sintering temperature from 2050 to 2150 ℃.Porous SiC ceramics with an average porosity of 42.72%,flexural strength of 59.28 MPa were obtained at 2150 ℃ from 67.5 wt% slurries with 2 wt% PVA.Feng Wang Jinwei Yin Dongxu Yao Yongfeng Xia Kaihui Zuo Yuping Zeng 2017Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2017,27,3:2
6PM_(2.5)and water-soluble inorganic ion concentrations decreased faster in urban than rural areas in China显示文摘We investigated variations of PM_(2.5)and water-soluble inorganic ions chemical characteristics at nine urban and rural sites in China using ground-based observations.From 2015 to 2019,mean PM_(2.5)concentration across all sites decreased by 41.9μg/m~3with a decline of 46%at urban sites and 28%at rural sites,where secondary inorganic aerosol(SIAs)contributed to 21%(urban sites)and 17%(rural sites)of the decreased PM_(2.5).SIAs concentrations underwent a decline at urban locations,while sulfate(SO_(4)^(2–)),nitrate(NO_(3)^(–)),and ammonium(NH_(4)^(+))decreased by 49.5%,31.3%and 31.6%,respectively.However,only SO_(4)^(2–)decreased at rural sites,NO_(3)^(–)increased by 21%and NH_(4)^(+)decreased slightly.Those changes contributed to an overall SIAs increase in 2019.Higher molar ratios of NO_(3)^(–)to SO_(4)^(2–)and NH_(4)^(+)to SO_(4)^(2–)were observed at urban sites than rural sites,being highest in the heavily polluted days.Mean molar ratios of NH_(3)/NH_xwere higher in 2019 than 2015 at both urban and rural sites,implying increasing NH_xremained as free NH_(3).Our observations indicated a slower transition from sulfate-driven to nitrate-driven aerosol pollution and less efficient control of NO_(x)than SO_(2)related aerosol formation in rural regions than urban regions.Moreover,the common factor at urban and rural sites appears to be a combination of lower SO_(4)^(2–)levels and an increasing fraction of NO_(3)^(–)to PM_(2.5)under NH_(4)^(+)-rich conditions.Our findings imply that synchronous reduction in NO_(x)and NH_(3)emissions especially rural areas would be effective to mitigate NO_(3)^(–)-driven aerosol pollution.Yangyang Zhang Aohan Tang Chen Wang Xin Ma Yunzhe Li Wen Xu Xiaoping Xia Aihua Zheng Wenqing Li Zengguo Fang Xiufen Zhao Xianlong Peng Yuping Zhang Jian Han Lijuan Zhang Jeffrey L.Collett Jr Xuejun Liu 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,12:2

9Growth asymmetry precedes differential auxin response during apical hook initiation in Arabidopsis显示文摘The development of a hook-like structure at the apical part of the soil-emerging organs has fascinated botanists for centuries,but how it is initiated remains unclear.Here,we demonstrate with highthroughput infrared imaging and 2-D clinostat treatment that,when gravity-induced root bending is absent,apical hook formation still takes place.In such scenarios,hook formation begins with a de novo growth asymmetry at the apical part of a straightly elongating hypocotyl.Remarkably,suchde novo asymmetric growth,but not the following hook enlargement,precedes the establishment of a detectable auxin response asymmetry,and is largely independent of auxin biosynthesis,transport and signaling.Moreover,we found that functional cortical microtubule array is essential for the following enlargement of hook curvature.When microtubule array was disrupted by oryzalin,the polar localization of PIN proteins and the formation of an auxin maximum became impaired at the to-be-hook region.Taken together,we propose a more comprehensive model for apical hook initiation,in which the microtubuledependent polar localization of PINs may mediate the instruction of growth asymmetry that is either stochastically taking place,induced by gravitropic response,or both,to generate a significant auxin gradient that drives the full development of the apical hook.Yang Peng Dan Zhang Yuping Qiu Zhina Xiao Yusi Ji Wenyang Li Yiji Xia Yichuan Wang Hongwei Guo 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,1:1
10Chromosome-level Genomes Reveal the Genetic Basis of Descending Dysploidy and Sex Determination in Morus Plants显示文摘Multiple plant lineages have independently evolved sex chromosomes and variable karyotypes to maintain their sessile lifestyles through constant biological innovation.Morus notabilis,a dioecious mulberry species,has the fewest chromosomes among Morus spp.,but the genetic basis of sex determination and karyotype evolution in this species has not been identified.In this study,three high-quality genome assemblies were generated for Morus spp.[including dioecious M.notabilis(male and female)and Morus yunnanensis(female)]with genome sizes of 301–329 Mb and were grouped into six pseudochromosomes.Using a combination of genomic approaches,we found that the putative ancestral karyotype of Morus species was close to 14 protochromosomes,and that several chromosome fusion events resulted in descending dysploidy(2n=2x=12).We also characterized a~6.2-Mb sex-determining region on chromosome 3.Four potential male-specific genes,a partially duplicated DNA helicase gene(named MSDH)and three Ty3_Gypsy long terminal repeat retrotransposons(named MSTG1/2/3),were identified in the Y-linked area and considered to be strong candidate genes for sex determination or differentiation.Population genomic analysis showed that Guangdong accessions in China were genetically similar to Japanese accessions of mulberry.In addition,genomic areas containing selective sweeps that distinguish domesticated mulberry from wild populations in terms of flowering and disease resistance were identified.Our study provides an important genetic resource for sex identification research and molecular breeding in mulberry.Zhongqiang Xia Xuelei Dai Wei Fan Changying Liu Meirong Zhang Peipei Bian Yuping Zhou Liang Li Baozhong Zhu Shuman Liu Zhengang Li Xiling Wang Maode Yu Zhonghuai Xiang Yu Jiang Aichun Zhao 2022Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,6:1

18Autocatalytic reduction-assisted synthesis of segmented porous PtTe nanochains for enhancing methanol oxidation reaction显示文摘Morphology engineering has been developed as one of the most widely used strategies for improving the performance of electrocatalysts.However,the harsh reaction conditions and cumbersome reaction steps during the nanomaterials synthesis still limit their industrial applications.Herein,one-dimensional(1D)novel-segmented PtTe porous nanochains(PNCs)were successfully synthesized by the template methods assisted by Pt autocatalytic reduction.The PtTe PNCs consist of consecutive mesoporous architectures that provide a large electrochemical surface area(ECSA)and abundant active sites to enhance methanol oxidation reaction(MOR).Furthermore,1D nanostructure as a robust sustaining frame can maintain a high mass/charge transfer rate in a long-term durability test.After 2,000 cyclic voltammetry(CV)cycles,the ECSA value of PtTe PNCs remained as high as 44.47 m^(2)·gPt^(-1),which was much larger than that of commercial Pt/C(3.95 m^(2)·gPt^(-1)).The high catalytic activity and durability of PtTe PNCs are also supported by CO stripping test and density functional theory calculation.This autocatalytic reduction-assisted synthesis provides new insights for designing efficient low-dimensional nanocatalysts.Qiqi Zhang Tianyu Xia He Huang Jialong Liu Mengyuan Zhu Hao Yu Weifeng Xu Yuping Huo Congli He Shipeng Shen Cong Lu Rongming Wang Shouguo Wang 2023Nano Research Energy2023,2,1:1

20Decoding and quantitative detection of antibiotics by a luminescent mixed-lanthanide-organic framework显示文摘Due to the potential risk of antibiotics to the environment,the development of inexpensive,simple,and reliable antibiotic detection methods is significant but also faces challenges.In this work,several lanthanide-organic frameworks(LOFs),constructed from lanthanide ions(Eu3+and/or Tb3+)and 1,3,5-benzene-tricarboxylic acid(BTC),were synthesized by solvothermal method.LOF-S3 with comparable emission peaks of 5D4→7F5(Tb3+,545 nm)and 5D0→7F2(Eu3+,618 nm)was selected as a luminescent sensor.In this system,the highly efficient energy transferred from the organic linker to lanthanide ions and from Tb3+to Eu3+occurs.LOF-S3 sensor was capable of decoding antibiotics by distinguishable emission intensity ratios.Therefore,a two-dimensional decoded map of antibiotics was established.The linear relationship between antibiotic concentration and emission intensity ratio indicated the quantitative determination of antibiotics was feasible.As a typical analyte,the response mechanism of nalidixic acid(NA)was investigated in detail.The competition of NA and BTC for UV light absorption,as well as the binding propensity of NA and Tb,affected the organic linkers-to-lanthanide ions and Tb-to-Eu energy transfer,resulting in the change of fluorescence intensity ratio.The self-calibrating mixed-LOF sensor overcame the uncontrollable errors of the traditional absolute emission intensity method and generated stable luminescent signals in multiple cycles.Furthermore,the integration of LOF-S3 with polymer fibers enabled the formation of a LOF-polymer fibrous composite with fluorescence detection capability,which is a promising portable sensor for practical applications.Yuping Wang Jing Xia Yanxin Gao 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,12:0
