1Palladium Nanoparticle-Graphene Hybrids as Active Catalysts for the Suzuki Reaction显示文摘Graphene has been successfully modified with palladium nanoparticles in a facile manner by reducing palladium acetate [Pd(OAc)2] in the present of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), which is used as both surfactant and the reducing agent. The palladium nanoparticle-graphene hybrids (Pd-graphene hybrids) are characterized by high- resolution transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. We demonstrate that the Pd-graphene hybrids can act as an efficient catalyst for the Suzuki reaction under aqueous and aerobic conditions, with the reaction reaching completion in as little as 5 min. 2Scalable volumetric imaging for ultrahigh-speed brain mapping at synaptic resolution显示文摘The speed of high-resolution optical imaging has been a rate-limiting factor for meso-scale mapping of brain structures and functional circuits,which is of fundamental importance for neuroscience research.Here,we describe a new microscopy method of Volumetric Imaging with Synchronized on-the-fly-scan and Readout(VISo R)for high-throughput,high-quality brain mapping.Combining synchronized scanning beam illumination and oblique imaging over cleared tissue sections in smooth motion,the VISo R system effectively eliminates motion blur to obtain undistorted images.By continuously imaging moving samples without stopping,the system achieves high-speed 3D image acquisition of an entire mouse brain within1.5 hours,at a resolution capable of visualizing synaptic spines.A pipeline is developed for sample preparation,imaging,3D image reconstruction and quantification.Our approach is compatible with immunofluorescence methods,enabling flexible cell-type specific brain mapping and is readily scalable for large biological samples such as primate brains.Using this system,we examined behaviorally relevant whole-brain neuronal activation in 16 c-Fos-sh EGFP mice under resting or forced swimming conditions.Our results indicate the involvement of multiple subcortical areas in stress response.Intriguingly,neuronal activation in these areas exhibits striking individual variability among different animals,suggesting the necessity of sufficient cohort size for such studies.Hao Wang Qingyuan Zhu Lufeng Ding Yan Shen Chao-Yu Yang Fang Xu Chang Shu Yujie Guo Zhiwei Xiong Qinghong Shan Fan Jia Peng Su Qian-Ru Yang Bing Li Yuxiao Cheng Xiaobin He Xi Chen Feng Wu Jiang-Ning Zhou Fuqiang Xu Hua Han Pak-Ming Lau Guo-Qiang Bi 2019National Science Review2019,6,5:7

4Cortical Organization of Centrifugal Afferents to the Olfactory Bulb: Mono-and Trans-synaptic Tracing with Recombinant Neurotropic Viral Tracers显示文摘Sensory processing is strongly modulated by different brain and behavioral states,and this is based on the top-down modulation.In the olfactory system,local neural circuits in the olfactory bulb(OB)are innervated by centrifugal afferents in order to regulate the processing of olfactory information in the OB under different behavioral states.The purpose of the present study was to explore the organization of neural networks in olfactory-related cortices and modulatory nuclei that give rise to direct and indirect innervations to the glomerular layer(GL)of the OB at the whole-brain scale.Injection of different recombinant attenuated neurotropic viruses into the GL showed that it received direct inputs from each layer in the OB,centrifugal inputs from the ipsilateralanterior olfactory nucleus(AON),anterior piriform cortex(Pir),and horizontal limb of diagonal band of Broca(HDB),and various indirect inputs from bilateral cortical neurons in the AON,Pir,amygdala,entorhinal cortex,hippocampus,HDB,dorsal raphe,median raphe and locus coeruleus.These results provide a circuitry basis that will help further understand the mechanism by which olfactory informationprocessing in the OB is regulated.Pengjie Wen Xiaoping Rao Liuying Xu Zhijian Zhang Fan Jia Xiaobin He Fuqiang Xu 2019Neuroscience Bulletin2019,35,4:4
5Single small molecule-assembled nanoparticles mediate efficient oral drug delivery显示文摘Oral drug delivery,which requires surviving the harsh environment in the gastrointestinal(Gl)tract and penetrating the intestinal epithelium,has not bee n achieved using simple formulatio n nan oparticles(NPs).Medici nal natural products(MNPs)have bee n widely used in traditi onal medicine for disease management through oral consumption.However,most pharmacologically active compounds within MNPs do not have the properties suitable for oral applicatio ns.We hypothesize that some MNPs contain n atural nano materials that can convert those compounds into oral formulations by forming NPs.After screening 66 MNPs,we identified five classes of small molecules that form NPs,many of which are capable of efficient drug encapsulation and Gl penetration.We show that one of them,dehydrotrametenolic acid(DTA),is capable of mediating oral delivery for effective disease treatment.We determined that DTA NPs assemble through hydrogen bonding and penetra怕the Gl tract via apical sodium-depe ndent bile acid tran sporter.Our study reveals a no vel class of single comp orient,small molecule-assembled NPs for oral drug delivery,and suggests a n ovel approach to modernizi ng MNPs through nano material discovery.Xin Yang Chao Ma Zeming Chen Jun Liu Fuyao Liu Rongbin Xie Haitian Zhao Gang Deng Ann TChen Ningbo Gong Lei Yao Pengjian Zuo Kangkang Zhi Jiacheng Wang Xiaobin Gao Jing Wang Louzhen Fan Jiangbing Zhou 2019Nano Research2019,12,10:4

7A Review of Data Acquisition System based on LabVIEW显示文摘With the continuous development and expansion of automotive industry,car safety problems are widely concerned by most of us. In order to make it easier to adjust car' s real-time body posture,it is necessary to design a real-time data acquisition system,thus reducing the number of casualties in normal driving. A brief account of the development status of data acquisition system at home and abroad,and the concept,principle,function of virtual instrument platform are given. The advantages and disadvantages of the data acquisition system,based on LabVIEW in different methods of data acquisition,are analyzed and compared,and put forward some improvements and optimization,so the real-time data acquisition system can meet the requirement of adjusting the state of the vehicle,improving real-time of data acquisition and processing. 8Carbon emissions induced by farmland expansion in China during the past 300 years显示文摘Scientific assessment of the accounting over carbon in the terrestrial ecosystem in the process land use/land cover changes caused by human activities will help reduce the uncertainty in estimating carbon emissions from the terrestrial ecosystem. This study employs a bookkeeping model to estimate the carbon emissions from farmland reclamation in China during the past 300 years based on the annual rate of land use changes(derived from historical natural vegetation, farmland data), preset carbon density and coefficients of disturbance curves. We find out that:(1) there was a net increase of 79.30×10~4km^2 in national farmland; about 65% of reclaimed farmland had been forest land and 26% of that had been grass land previously;(2) the total amount of carbon emissions from farmland expansion in China had been between 2.94 and 5.61 Pg with the median 3.78 Pg during the past 300 years; specifically, carbon emissions of vegetation were 1.58 Pg while those of soil ranged from 1.35 Pg to4.03 Pg with the median 2.20 Pg;(3) carbon emissions vary greatly across various ecosystems: the emissions were most from forest land, and then grass land and swamps, and the least from shrubs; deserts functioned more likely to be carbon stock in the process of land reclamation;(4) along the time line, carbon emissions had decreased first and then increased while the peak emissions occurred in the first half of 20 th century; and spatially, carbon emissions were most released in Northeast and Southwest China; Northwest China was of the minimum carbon emissions.Xuhong YANG Xiaobin JIN Xiaomin XIANG Yeting FAN Jing LIU Wei SHAN Yinkang ZHOU 2019Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,2:2
9Impaired Parahippocampal Gyrus-Orbitofrontal Cortex Circuit Associated with Visuospatial Memory Deficit as a Potential Biomarker and Interventional Approach for Alzheimer Disease显示文摘The parahippocampal gyrus-orbitofrontal cortex(PHG-OFC)circuit in humans is homologous to the postrhinal cortex(POR)-ventral lateral orbitofrontal cortex(vlOFC)circuit in rodents.Both are associated with visuospatial malfunctions in Alzheimer’s disease(AD).However,the underlying mechanisms remain to be elucidated.In this study,we explored the relationship between an impaired POR-vlOFC circuit and visuospatial memory deficits through retrograde tracing and in vivo local field potential recordings in 5XFAD mice,and investigated alterations of the PHG-OFC circuit by multi-domain magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)in patients on the AD spectrum.We demonstrated that an impaired glutamatergic POR-vlOFC circuit resulted in deficient visuospatial memory in 5XFAD mice.Moreover,MRI measurements of the PHG-OFC circuit had an accuracy of 77.33%for the classification of amnestic mild cognitive impairment converters versus non-converters.Thus,the PHG-OFC circuit explains the neuroanatomical basis of visuospatial memory deficits in AD,thereby providing a potential predictor for AD progression and a promising interventional approach for AD.Lin Zhu Zan Wang Zhanhong Du Xinyang Qi Hao Shu Duan Liu Fan Su Qing Ye Xuemei Liu Zheng Zhou Yongqiang Tang Ru Song Xiaobin Wang Li Lin Shijiang Li Ying Han Liping Wang Zhijun Zhang 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,8:2
10QNE1 is a key flowering regulator determining the length of the vegetative period in soybean cultivars显示文摘The soybean E1 gene is a major regulator that plays an important role in flowering time and maturity.However,it remains unclear how cultivars carrying the dominant E1 allele adapt to the higher latitudinal areas of northern China.We mapped the novel quantitative trait locus QNE1(QTL near E1) for flowering time to the region proximal to E1 on chromosome 6 in two mapping populations.Positional cloning revealed Glyma.06G204300,encoding a TCP-type transcription factor,as a strong candidate gene for QNE1.Association analysis further confirmed that functional single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) at nucleotides 686 and 1,063 in the coding region of Glyma.06G204300 were significantly associated with flowering time.The protein encoded by the candidate gene is localized primarily to the nucleus.Furthermore,soybean and Brassica napus plants overexpressing Glyma.06G204300 exhibited early flowering.We conclude that despite their similar effects on flowering time,QNE1 and E4 may control flowering time through different regulatory mechanisms,based on expression studies and weighted gene co-expression network analysis of flowering time-related genes.Deciphering the molecular basis of QNE1 control of flowering time enriches our knowledge of flowering gene networks in soybean and will facilitate breeding soybean cultivars with broader latitudinal adaptation.Zhengjun Xia Hong Zhai Yanfeng Zhang Yaying Wang Lu Wang Kun Xu Hongyan Wu Jinglong Zhu Shuang Jiao Zhao Wan Xiaobin Zhu Yi Gao Yingxiang Liu Rong Fan Shihao Wu Xin Chen Jinyu Liu Jiayin Yang Qijian Song Zhixi Tian 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,12:1

13One-step fabrication of two-dimensional hierarchical Mn_(2)O_(3)@graphene composite as high-performance anode materials for lithium ion batteries显示文摘Two-dimensional(2 D) hierarchical Mn_(2)O_(3)@graphene composite is synthesized by a one-step solid-phase reaction. The nanosheets of Mn_(2)O_(3) are vertically grown on few-layered graphene, constructing a unique2 D hierarchical structure. As an anode material for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs), this hierarchical composite displays excellent electrochemical performances, showing an extraordinary reversible discharge capacity of 2125.9 mA hg^(–1). Moreover, a record high reversible capacity of 1746.8 mA hg^(–1) is maintained after 100 cycles at a current density of 100 mA g^(–1), which retains 82.2 % of the initial capacity. 19Tailoring mechanical properties of PμSL 3D-printed structures via size effect显示文摘Projection micro stereolithography(PμSL)has emerged as a powerful three-dimensional(3D)printing technique for manufacturing polymer structures with micron-scale high resolution at high printing speed,which enables the production of customized 3D microlattices with feature sizes down to several microns.However,the mechanical properties of as-printed polymers were not systemically studied at the relevant length scales,especially when the feature sizes step into micron/sub-micron level,limiting its reliable performance prediction in micro/nanolattice and other metamaterial applications.In this work,we demonstrate that PμSL-printed microfibers could become stronger and significantly more ductile with reduced size ranging from 20μm to 60μm,showing an obvious size-dependent mechanical behavior,in which the size decreases to 20μm with a fracture strain up to~100%and fracture strength up to~100 MPa.Such size effect enables the tailoring of the material strength and stiffness of PμSL-printed microlattices over a broad range,allowing to fabricate the microlattice metamaterials with desired/tunable mechanical properties for various structural and functional applications.Wenqiang Zhang Haitao Ye Xiaobin Feng Wenzhao Zhou Ke Cao Maoyuan Li Sufeng Fan Yang Lu 2022International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2022,4,4:1
