1Molecular cloning of C4-specific Ppc gene of sorghum and its high level expression in transgenic rice显示文摘In order to improve the carbon-assimilation ability of C3 plants, we isolated a C4-specific photosynthetic enzyme gene, Ppc (encode phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase, PEPCase) from the genome of the C4 plant, sorghum, and transformed rice with it. As shown by sequence analysis, the gene is composed of 10 exons and 9 introns, and the full-length transcript is 5989 bp long. A recombinant expres-sion vector, p1301PEPC, was constructed by inserting the gene into a plasmid vector, pCAMBIA1301, which was then transformed into two japonica rice varieties, Nongken 58 and Zhonghua 10, using an Agrobacterium-mediated transforma-tion system. PCR analysis, activity measurement of PEPCase, and protein-, RNA- and DNA-based hybridization all con-firmed the successful integration of the C4-specific Ppc gene into the nuclear genome of rice and its high level expression. Physiological studies revealed the photosynthetic features characterizing C4 plants such as marked lowering of CO2 compensation point and photorespiration rate, and im-proved carboxylation efficiency. 12Design of a modified circular-cut multiband fractal antenna显示文摘This paper presents a modified circular-cut multiband fractal antenna with good radiation patterns designed for digital cellular system(DCS), personal communication system(PCS), 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz wireless local area networks(WLAN) and 2.5/3.5/5.5 GHz worldwide interoperability for microwave access(WiMAX) applications simultaneously. Originally, the modified circular monopole antenna is designed to resonate at around 2.1 GHz and 3.6 GHz. After subtracting the circular iterative tree fractal structure, it can produce three other resonances at around 5.6 GHz, 6.47 GHz and 7.89 GHz. Besides, as the number of iterations increases, not only do the new frequency bands appear(it demonstrates the good self-similarity property of the proposed antenna), but also the operating bands shift from high frequency to low frequency(it shows the well space filling property). Furthermore, the proposed antenna owns a compact structure, which can achieve the 5.28 dBi of relative high gain. 13Robust scalable pre-compressed video coding based on MPEG4-FGS over the Internet显示文摘Streaming video is becoming increasingly popular among Internet multimedia applications. A robust coding scheme for DCT-based scalable video streaming over the Internet is proposed in this paper. Compared with conventional MPEG4-FGS (fine granular scalable) and progressive FGS(PFGS), the proposed method generates the base layer including some sub-base layers by DCT coefficient reordering and VLC reshuffling, which enables the video stream of to adapt itself to long-term bandwidth time-varying of channel. Furthermore, a novel end-to-end transmission architecture for scalable video streaming over the Internet is also presented, in which an adaptive unequal packet loss protection (AUPLP) strategy is proposed to determine the currently available network bandwidth and adjust the sending rates according to different situations, such as network congestion or unreliable transmission. Experimental results show that the proposed progressive scalable scheme can improve the average coding efficiency up to 1.2 dB compared with MPEG4-FGS and PFGS in lower bandwidth, and the AUPLP strategy can improve the transmitting performances not only of the proposed scheme, but also of MPEG4-FGS, PFGS system.ZhangFang XiaoSong WuChengke 2005Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2005,16,1:0
