| 1 | Inactivation gating determines drug potency:a common mechanism for drug blockade of HERG channels显示文摘AIM: To determine the mechanisms of interactions between different drugs and HERG channels. METHODS:Various antiarrhythmic (dofetilide, quinidine, azimilide, RP58866) and non-antiarrhythmic (terfenadine, nicotine)agents were used on HERG channels expressed in Xenopus oocyte. Whole-cell voltage-clamp techniques wereused. RESULTS: All drugs produced concentration-dependent block of HERG current. The inhibition was mark-edly facilitated with voltage protocols favoring channel inactivation (eg, less negative holding potentials). Maneu-vers that weakened channel inactivation (eg, elevation of external K+), relieved HERG blockade by all drugs. Moreover,the inhibitory potency was reduced by at least 20-300 fold with varying compounds when rapid C-type inactivationwas removed by a mutation located between the transmembrane domains 5 and 6 (S631A). CONCLUSION: Theinactivation gating of HERG channels determines the blocking potency of drugs. | 3 | Climate change impact and adaptation on wheat yield, water use and water use efficiency at North Nile Delta显示文摘Investigation of climate change impacts on food security has become a global hot spot.Even so,efforts to mitigate these issues in arid regions have been insufficient.Thus,in this paper,further research is discussed based on data obtained from various crop and climate models.Two DSSATcrop models(CMs)(CERESWheat and N-Wheat)were calibrated with two wheat cultivars(Gemiza9 and Misr1).A baseline simulation(1981-2010)was compared with different scenarios of simulations using three Global Climate Models(GCMs)for the 2030s,2050s and 2080s.Probable impacts of climate change were assessed using the GCMs and CMs under the high emission Representative Concentration Pathway(RCP8.5).Results predicted decreased wheat grain yields by a mean of 8.7%,11.4%and 13.2%in the 2030s,2050s and 2080s,respectively,relative to the baseline yield.Negative impacts of climatic change are probable,despite some uncertainties within the GCMs(i.e.,2.1%,5.0%and 8.0%)and CMs(i.e.,2.2%,6.0%and 9.2%).Changing the planting date with a scenario of plus or minus 5 or 10 days from the common practice was assessed as a potentially effective adaptation option,which may partially offset the negative impacts of climate change.Delaying the sowing date by 10 days(from 20 November to 30 November)proved the optimum scenario and decreased further reduction in wheat yields resulting from climate change to 5.2%,6.8%and 8.5%in the 2030s,2050s and 2080s,respectively,compared with the 20 November scenario.The planting 5-days earlier scenario showed a decreased impact on climate change adaptation.However,the 10-days early planting scenario increased yield reduction under projected climate change.The cultivar Misr1 was more resistant to rising temperature than Gemiza9.Despite the negative impacts of projected climate change on wheat production,water use efficiency would slightly increase.The ensemble of multi-model estimated impacts and adaptation uncertainties of climate change can assist decision-makers in planning climate adaptation strategies. | Marwa Gamal Mohamed Ali Mahmoud Mohamed Ibrahim Ahmed El Baroudy Michael Fullen El-Said Hamad Omar Zheli Ding Ahmed Mohammed Saad Kheir | 2020 | Frontiers of Earth Science2020,14,3: | 2 |

It may cause privacy disclosure or even property damage. Password leakage is one of the fundamental reasons for information leakage, and its importance is must be emphasized because users are likely to use the same passwords for different Web application accounts. Existing approaches use a password manager and encrypted Web application to protect passwords and other sensitive data; however, they may be compromised or lack accessibility. The paper presents Secure Web, which is a secure, practical, and user-controllable framework for mitigating the leakage of sensitive data. Secure Web protects users' passwords and aims to provide a unified protection solution to diverse sensitive data. | 6 | An Efficient Format-Preserving Encryption Mode for Practical Domains显示文摘Format-preserving encryption (FPE), which makes sure that ciphertext has the same format as plaintext, has been widely used in protecting sensitive data in a database. Aiming at efficiently solving the FPE problem on a collection of practical domains, we propose the RREM (random reference-based encryption mode), which constructs bijection between the original domain and integer set through distance computation. If an appropriate distance function is predefined, the proposed mode can solve the FPE problem on linear equidistance domain in a more efficient way than previous methods. | 13 | A Novel Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 Catalyst for NO_x Catalytic Reduction with Ammonia显示文摘The Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 catalysts with different Cu/Mo ratios were prepared by wet impregnation method, and their catalytic performance for selective catalytic reduction of NOx was studied. The results showed that Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 is a very effective catalyst for NOx catalytic reduction with ammonia, especially when Cu/Mo molar ratio is about 1.5. It not only exhibited the extremely high catalytic activity, but also showed good stability for O2. | 16 | Effect of Banana Stalk Organic Fertilizer on the Growth of Chinese Cabbage显示文摘In order to solve the problem of waste disposal after banana harvest,we use banana stalk to produce banana stalk organic fertilizer,through a plot experiment. We compare the influence of normal organic fertilizer( Wanlubao) and banana stalk organic fertilizer as base fertilizers on Chinese cabbage growth,and evaluate the economic benefits of banana stalk organic fertilizer. The results show that organic fertilizer has little effect on water content and nutrient content of Chinese cabbage,but has significant effect on plant height and leaf width. Using organic fertilizer can increase the production of Chinese cabbage by 22. 50%- 43. 10%. With 6750 kg / ha normal organic fertilizer,Chinese cabbage gets the highest yield,which reaches 30135 kg / ha,followed by the treatment of 6750 kg / ha stalk organic fertilizer. At farmers' conventional fertilization level( 4500 kg / ha),stalk organic fertilizer can increase the yield by more than 3. 50% in comparison with the normal organic fertilizer,and the economic benefit increases by 1800 yuan / ha.
