| 1 | Acupuncture's Role in Solving the Opioid Epidemic: Evidence, Cost-Effectiveness, and Care Availability for Acupuncture as a Primary, Non-Pharmacologic Method for Pain Relief and Management-White Paper 2017显示文摘The United States(U.S.) is facing a national opioid epidemic, and medical systems are in need of nonpharmacologic strategies that can be employed to decrease the public's opioid dependence. Acupuncture has emerged as a powerful, evidence-based, safe, cost-effective, and available treatment modality suitable to meeting this need. Acupuncture has been shown to be effective for the management of numerous types of pain conditions, and mechanisms of action for acupuncture have been described and are understandable from biomedical, physiologic perspectives. Further, acupuncture's cost-effectiveness can dramatically decrease health care expenditures, both from the standpoint of treating acute pain and through avoiding addiction to opioids that requires costly care, destroys quality of life, and can lead to fatal overdose. Numerous federal regulatory agencies have advised or mandated that healthcare systems and providers offer non-pharmacologic treatment options for pain. Acupuncture stands out as the most evidence-based, immediately available choice to fulfil these calls. Acupuncture can safely, easily, and cost-effectively be incorporated into hospital settings as diverse as the emergency department, labor and delivery suites, andneonatal intensive care units to treat a variety of commonly seen pain conditions. | 3 | Controlled mechanical assembly of complex 3D mesostructures and strain sensors by tensile buckling显示文摘Recent research establishes methods of controlled mechanical assembly as versatile routes to three-dimensional(3D)mesostructures from patterned 2D films,with demonstrated applicability to a broad range of materials(e.g.,semiconductors,polymers,metals,and their combinations)and length scales(e.g.,from sub-microscale to centimeter scale).Previously reported schemes use pre-stretched elastomeric substrates as assembly platforms to induce compressive buckling of 2D precursor structures,thereby enabling their controlled transformation into 3D architectures.Here,we introduce tensile buckling as a different,complementary strategy that bypasses the need for a pre-stretched platform,thereby simplifying the assembly process and opening routes to additional classes of 3D geometries unobtainable with compressive buckling.A few basic principles in mechanics serve as guidelines for the design of 2D precursor structures that achieve large out-of-plane motions and associated 3D transformations due to tensile buckling.Experimental and computational studies of nearly 20 examples demonstrate the utility of this approach in the assembly of complex 3D mesostructures with characteristic dimensions from micron to millimeter scales.The results also establish the use of nonlinear mechanics modeling as a mechanism for designing systems that yield desired 3D geometries.A strain sensor that offers visible readout and large detectable strain range through a collection of mechanically triggered electrical switches and LEDs serves as an application example. | Xiaogang Guo Xueju Wang Dapeng Ou Jilong Ye Wenbo Pang Yonggang Huang John A.Rogers Yihui Zhang | 2018 | npj Flexible Electronics2018，2，1： | 4 |

| 14 | Engineering CoMoO_(4) in reduced graphene oxide as superior cathode hosts for advanced room-temperature sodium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Promising room-temperature sodium-sulfur(RT Na-S)battery systems rely on purposely designed highperforming and low-cost electrode materials.Nevertheless,there are the challenges of irreversible dissolution and slow redox kinetics of NaPSs in the complete discharge of sulfur capacity.Herein,engineered CoMoO_(4)in reduced graphene oxide(CoMoO_(4)@rGO)is reported as a class of superior cathode hosts for RT Na-S batteries.The CoMoO_(4)@rGO matrix is designed to facilitate the reversible sodiation and desodiation of sulfur,considering the strong chemisorption between sulfur(and short-chain sodium sulfides)and CoMoO_(4),which alleviates the shuttle effect of sodium sulfides and accelerates the electrochemical reaction rate at RT.The obtained S/CoMoO_(4)@rGO cathode with~52%S loading exhibits a high capacity of520.1 mA h g^(-1)after 100 cycles at 0.1 A g^(-1).Moreover,an enhanced long-term performance at high current densities(212.2 mA h g^(-1)at 4 A g^(-1)over 1000 cycles)with high Coulombic efficiency(~100%)is also achieved.This work demonstrates a novel multifunctional additive for RT Na-S battery cathodes,which is expected to promote the long-waited development towards practical applications of RT Na-S batteries. | Xin Ye Sainan Luo Zhiqi Li Jiafeng Ruan Yuepeng Pang Junhe Yang John Wang Shiyou Zheng | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023，，11： | 1 |
