| 4 | Dual Functions of Microglia in Ischemic Stroke显示文摘Ischemic stroke is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Resident microglia are the principal immune cells of the brain, and the first to respond to the pathophysiological changes induced by ischemic stroke. Traditionally, it has been thought that microglial activation is deleterious in ischemic stroke, and therapies to suppress it have been intensively explored. However,increasing evidence suggests that microglial activation is also critical for neurogenesis, angiogenesis, and synaptic remodeling, thereby promoting functional recovery after cerebral ischemia. Here, we comprehensively review the dual role of microglia during the different phases of ischemic stroke, and the possible mechanisms controlling the post-ischemic activity of microglia. | 10 | Debris Flow Susceptibility Assessment Using a Probabilistic Approach:A Case Study in the Longchi Area, Sichuan Province, China显示文摘The Longchi area with the city of Dujiangyan, in the Sichuan province of China, is composed of Permian stone and diorites and Triassic sandstones and mudstones intercalated with slates. An abundance of loose co-seismic materials were present on the slopes after the May 12, 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, which in later years served as source material for rainfall-induced debris flows or shallow landslides. A total of 48 debris flows, all triggered by heavy rainfall on 13 th August 2010, are described in this paper. Field investigation, supported by remote sensing image interpretation, was conducted to interpret the co-seismic landslides in the debris flow gullies. Specific characteristics of the study area such as slope, aspect, elevation, channel gradient, lithology, and gully density were selected for the evaluation of debris flow susceptibility. A score was given to all the debris flow gullies based on the probability of debris flow occurrence for the selected factors. In order to get the contribution of the different factors, principal component analyses were applied. A comprehensive score was obtained for the 48 debris flow gullies which enabled us to make a susceptibility map for debris flows with three classes. | 11 | The Herbicidal Activity of Mutant Isolates from Botrytis cinerea显示文摘Fifteen mutant isolates were obtained by ultraviolet mutation from parent isolate Botrytis cinerea BC-4. Among them three mutant isolates, BC4-1, BC4-2, and BC4-15, showed strong herbicidal activity. BC4-1 showed maximum herbicidal activity for inhibition of germination and growth of Digitaria sanguinalis L. and Amaranthus retroflexus L. The results also showed that herbicidal activity was influenced by differing pH of PD media, with pH value of 4.0 being the optimum. The crude toxin was extracted using chloroform, petroleum ether, and ethyl acetate, respectively, and the ethyl acetate extracts showed the strongest inhibitory activity on the germination and growth of D. sanguinalis L. and A. retroflexus L. Using HPLC, one fraction with an absorption peak at 271 nm was separated from the crude toxin. | 12 | Driving and Braking Control of PM Synchronous Motor Based on Low-resolution Hall Sensor for Battery Electric Vehicle显示文摘Resolvers are normally employed for rotor positioning in motors for electric vehicles,but resolvers are expensive and vulnerable to vibrations.Hall sensors have the advantages of low cost and high reliability,but the positioning accuracy is low.Motors with Hall sensors are typically controlled by six-step commutation algorithm,which brings high torque ripple.This paper studies the high-performance driving and braking control of the in-wheel permanent magnetic synchronous motor(PMSM) based on low-resolution Hall sensors.Field oriented control(FOC) based on Hall-effect sensors is developed to reduce the torque ripple.The positioning accuracy of the Hall sensors is improved by interpolation between two consecutive Hall signals using the estimated motor speed.The position error from the misalignment of the Hall sensors is compensated by the precise calibration of Hall transition timing.The braking control algorithms based on six-step commutation and FOC are studied.Two variants of the six-step commutation braking control,namely,half-bridge commutation and full-bridge commutation,are discussed and compared,which shows that the full-bridge commutation could better explore the potential of the back electro-motive forces(EMF),thus can deliver higher efficiency and smaller current ripple.The FOC braking is analyzed with the phasor diagrams.At a given motor speed,the motor turns from the regenerative braking mode into the plug braking mode if the braking torque exceeds a certain limit,which is proportional to the motor speed.Tests in the dynamometer show that a smooth control could be realized by FOC driving control and the highest efficiency and the smallest current ripple could be achieved by FOC braking control,compared to six-step commutation braking control.Therefore,FOC braking is selected as the braking control algorithm for electric vehicles.The proposed research ensures a good motor control performance while maintaining low cost and high reliability. | GU Jing OUYANG Minggao LI Jianqiu LU Dongbin FANG Chuan MA Yan | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,1: | 14 |
| 13 | Research on Formation Mechanisms of Hot Dry Rock Resources in China显示文摘As an important geothermal resource, hot dry rock(HDR) reserves have been studied in many countries. HDR resources in China have huge capacity and have become one of the most important resources for the potential replacement of fossil fuels. However, HDR resources are difficult to develop and utilise. Technologies for use with HDR, such as high–temperature drilling, reservoir characterisation, reservoir fracturing, microseismic monitoring and high–temperature power stations, originate from the field of oil and drilling. Addressing how to take advantage of these developed technologies is a key factor in the development of HDR reserves. Based on the thermal crustal structure in China, HDR resources can be divided into four types: high radioactive heat production, sedimentary basin, modern volcano and the inner–plate active tectonic belt. The prospective regions of HDR resources are located in South Tibet, West Yunnan, the southeast coast of China, Bohai Rim, Songliao Basin and Guanzhong Basin. The related essential technologies are relatively mature, and the prospect of HDR power generation is promising. | 15 | Meta-analysis of cognitive function in Chinese first-episode schizophrenia: MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB) profile of impairment显示文摘Background Compromised neurocognition is a core feature of schizophrenia. With increasing studies researching cognitive function of Chinese patients with first-episode schizophrenia (FES) using MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB), it is not clear about the level and pattern of cognitive impairment among this population. Aim To provide a meta-analysis systematically analysing studies of neurocognitive function using MCCB in Chinese patients with FES. Methods An independent literature search of both Chinese and English databases up to 13 March 2019 was conducted by two reviewers. Standardised mean difference (SMD) was calculated using the random effects model to evaluate the effect size. Results 56 studies (FES=3167, healthy controls (HC)=3017) were included and analysed. No study was rated as 'high quality' according to Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology. Compared with HCs, Chinese patients with FES showed impairment with large effect size in overall cognition (SMD=-1.60,95% Cl -1.82 to -1.38,厂=67%) and all seven cognitive domains, with the SMD ranging from -0.87 to -1.41. In nine MCCB subtests, patients with FES showed significant difference in Symbol Coding (SMD=-1.90), Trail Making Test (TMT)(SMD=-1.36), Continuous Performance Test-Identical Pairs (SMD=-1.33), Hopkins Verbal Learning Test (SMD=-1.24), Brief Visuospatial Memory Test (SMD=-1.18), Mazes (SMD=-1.16), Category Fluency (SMD=-1.01), Spatial Span (SMD=-0.69) and Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (SMD=-0.38). Conclusions Our meta-analysis demonstrates that Chinese patients with FES show neurocognitive deficits across all seven MCCB cognitive domains and all nine subtests, particularly in two neurocognitive domains: speed of processing and attention/vigilance, with the least impairment shown in social cognition. | 16 | CRISPR/Cas9-mediated PINK1 deletion leads to neurodegeneration in rhesus monkeys显示文摘Dear Editor,PINK1 mutations cause autosomal recessive and early-onset Parkinson’s disease(PD)with selective neurodegeneration.Unfortunately,current PINK1 knockout(KO)mouse1,2 and pig models3,4 are unable to recapitulate the selective and overt neurodegeneration seen in PD patients.Furthermore,endogenous Pink1 in the mouse brain is expressed at very low levels and can only be detected via immunoprecipitation,5 meaning that PINK1’s function in the mammalian brain needs to be assessed using larger animals that are closer to humans.We previously used CRISPR/Cas9 to target the monkey gene in one-cell stage embryos.6 Using the same approach,we designed two gRNAs to target exon 2(T1)and exon 4(T2),which encode a kinase domain in the PINK1 gene of rhesus monkeys(Fig.1a).CRISPR/Cas9 and PINK1 gRNAs were injected into one-cell stage rhesus monkey embryos.A T7E1 assay and sequencing of PCR products from the injected embryos showed high efficiency(61.5%)in targeting PINK1(Fig.1b and Supplementary information,Fig.S1).Transfer of 87 embryos to 28 surrogate rhesus monkeys resulted in 11 pregnancies(39.2%)(Fig.1b).Eleven fetuses developed to term and were born naturally.Of these live monkeys,eight carried PINK1 mutations(M),and three were wild type(WT).However,three mutant monkeys(M1,M3 and M4)were newborn triplets that struggled to survive and died 3-4 days after birth.One WT newborn monkey also died after a difficult labor.Another mutant monkey(M2)died 7 days after birth without noticeable warning signs or symptoms.The other three mutant monkeys(M6,M7 and M8)have lived for three years;M5,however,reduced its food intake and showed weakness at the age of 1.5 years,and died 30 days after anesthesia for MRI examination. | Weili Yang Yunbo Liu Zhuchi Tu Chong Xiao Sen Yan Xishan Ma Xiangyu Guo Xiusheng Chen Peng Yin Zhengyi Yang Su Yang Tianzi Jiang Shihua Li Chuan Qin Xiao-Jiang Li | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,4: | 12 |

| 19 | Effects of basicity and MgO content on the viscosity of the SiO_2-CaO-MgO-9wt%Al_2O_3 slag system显示文摘The effects of basicity and MgO content on the viscosity of SiO2-CaO-MgO-9wt%Al2O3 slags with basicity from 0.4 to 1.0 and MgO content from 13wt% to 19wt% were investigated using the rotating cylinder method. A correlation between the viscosity and the slag structure was determined by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy. It is indicated that the complex network structure of the slag melt is depolymerized into simpler network units with increasing basicity or MgO content, resulting in a continuous decrease in viscosity of the slag. The viscosity is strongly dependent on the combined action of basic oxide components in the slag. Under the present experimental conditions, increasing the basicity is found to be more effective than increasing the MgO content in decreasing the viscosity of the slag. At higher temperatures, the increase of basicity or MgO content does not appreciably decrease the viscosity of the slag, as it does at lower temperatures.
