| 4 | Structural characteristics and magnetic properties of bulk nanocrystalline Fe_(84)Zr_2Nb_4B_(10) alloy prepared by mechanical alloying and spark plasma sintering consolidation显示文摘Magnetic properties of Fe84Zr2Nb4B10 sample were investigated. The sample was produced from nanocrystalline powders made by the mechanical alloying (MA) and consolidation using the spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique. Effects of milling time on phase transformation, structural characteristics, and magnetic properties of powders were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and physical property measure system (PPMS), respectively. Results show that nanostructured α-Fe supersaturated solid solution is obtained in the final MAed products. The saturation magnetization (Ms) increased with increasing milling time and became constant at 130 h, but the coercivity (Hc) increased firstly and then decreased. The consolidated bulk sample exhibited a high density of 6.893 g·cm-3, there was no phase change during SPS process, and the saturation magnetization and susceptibility of the SPSed bulk sample improved in comparison with the milled powders. | 7 | Whole-genome sequencing of monozygotic twins discordant for schizophrenia indicates multiple genetic risk factors for schizophrenia显示文摘Schizophrenia is a common disorder with a high heritability, but its genetic architecture is still elusive.We implemented whole-genome sequencing(WGS) analysis of 8 families with monozygotic(MZ) twin pairs discordant for schizophrenia to assess potential association of de novo mutations(DNMs) or inherited variants with susceptibility to schizophrenia. Eight non-synonymous DNMs(including one splicing site) were identified and shared by twins, which were either located in previously reported schizophrenia risk genes(p.V24689 I mutation in TTN, p.S2506 T mutation in GCN1L1, IVS3+1G > T in DOCK1) or had a benign to damaging effect according to in silico prediction analysis. By searching the inherited rare damaging or loss-of-function(LOF) variants and common susceptible alleles from three classes of schizophrenia candidate genes, we were able to distill genetic alterations in several schizophrenia risk genes, including GAD1, PLXNA2, RELN and FEZ1. Four inherited copy number variations(CNVs; including a large deletion at 16p13.11) implicated for schizophrenia were identified in four families, respectively. Most of families carried both missense DNMs and inherited risk variants, which might suggest that DNMs, inherited rare damaging variants and common risk alleles together conferred to schizophrenia susceptibility. | 9 | Neuroprotective role of edaravone and the effects of endoplasmic reticulum stress in an adult rat model of focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion显示文摘BACKGROUND: Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress impairs ER functions and leads to the accumulation of unfolded or misfolded proteins in the ER lumen. ER stress-induced cell death plays an important role in cerebral ischemia. Edaravon (3-methyl-1-phenyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one) is a potent and novel scavenger of free radicals that inhibit delayed neuronal death, as demonstrated by in vitro and animal studies. However, its effect on ER stress and induced neuronal apoptosis in a rat model of brief middle cerebral artery occlusion remains unclear. OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects of edaravone on the expression of ER stress-related factors and neuronal apoptosis, based on the hypothesis that edaravone influences ER stress in a rat model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized, controlled, animal study was performed at the Laboratory of Department of Neurology, Xiangya Hospital and the Department of Laboratory Animals, Xiangya Medical College, Central South University in China from June 2005 to May 2006. MATERIALS: Edaravone was purchased from Simcere Pharmaceutical Group, China. METHODS: A total of 216 adult, male, Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned to sham-surgery, model and edaravone groups, with 72 rats in each group. Brief middle cerebral artery occlusion was established in the model and edaravone groups. In addition, the edaravone group rats were injected with 3 mg/kg edaravone through the tail vein. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: RNA-dependent protein kinase-like endoplasmic reticulum eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2α kinase (PERK) and C/EBP homology protein (CHOP) mRNA expression in the ischemic parietal cortex was determined by reverse transcription- polymerase chain reaction; phosphorylated PERK and CHOP protein expression was detected by immunohistochemistry; neuronal apoptosis was detected by TdT-mediated-dUTP nick end labeling. RESULTS: Neurological deficit scores were significantly reduced in the edaravone group compared to the model group at 12, 24, and 72 hours following reperfusion (P < 0.05). In addition, PERK and CHOP mRNA as well as phosphorylated PERK and CHOP protein expression were significantly reduced in the edaravone group compared to the model group at 1, 3, and 6 hours following reperfusion (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). CHOP mRNA expression was decreased in the edaravone group compared to the model group at 3, 6, 12, and 24 hours following reperfusion (P < 0.01), while CHOP protein expression was less than the model group at 6, 12, and 24 hours following reperfusion (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Edaravone treatment resulted in decreased PERK and CHOP expression following ischemia/reperfusion, as well as reduced neuronal apoptosis. | 10 | Modeling multiple chemical equilibrium for reactive extraction of naproxen enantiomers with HP-β-CD as hydrophilic selector显示文摘Reactive extraction is an emerging technology for large-scale continuous resolution of drug enantiomers.The enantioselective extraction of R,S-naproxen by hydrophilic HP-β-CD in 1,2-dichloroethane was studied at 5 °C.The experimental data were described by a reactive extraction model with a homogeneous aqueous phase reaction of R,S-naproxen with HP-β-CD which couples a complete description of chemical equilibria in aqueous phase with the overall phase equilibria of the system.Important parameters of this model were determined experimentally.The physical distribution coefficients for molecular and ionic NAP were 0.041 and 1.730,respectively.Here we show that the efficiency of extraction depends strongly on two process variables including pH and HP-β-CD concentration.The model predictions are compared graphically with the results of previous experiments and there is a good agreement between each other.By the use of modeling and experiment,an optimized extraction condition with pH of 2.5 and HP-β-CD concentration of 0.1 mol/L was obtained with high enantioselectivity(α) of 1.59 and performance factor(pf) of 0.049.The model gives a good means of predicting enantiomers partitioning over a range of experimental conditions. | TANG KeWen ZHANG PanLiang PAN ChunYue LI HongJian | 2011 | Science China Chemistry2011,54,7: | 2 |

| 12 | Effects of duckweed(Spriodela polyrrhiza)remediation on the composition of dissolved organic matter in effluent of scale pig farms显示文摘The swine effluent studied was collected from scale pig farms,located in Yujiang County of Jiangxi Province,China,and duckweed(Spriodela polyrrhiza) was selected to dispose the effluent.The purpose of this study was to elucidate the effects of duckweed growth on the dissolved organic matter composition in swine effluent.Throughout the experiment period,the concentrations of organic matter were determined regularly,and the excitationemission matrix(3DEEM) spectroscopy was used to characterize the fluorescence component.Compared with no-duckweed treatments(controls),the specific ultra-violet absorbance at 254 nm(SUVA_(254)) was increased by a final average of 34.4%as the phytoremediation using duckweed,and the removal rate of DOC was increased by a final average of 28.0%.In swine effluent,four fluorescence components were identified,including two protein-like(tryptophan,tyrosine) and two humic-like(fulvic acids,humic acids) components.For all treatments,the concentrations of protein-like components decreased by a final average of 69.0%.As the growth of duckweed,the concentrations of humic-like components were increased by a final average of 123.5%than controls.Significant and positive correlations were observed between SUVA_(254) and humic-like components.Compared with the controls,the humification index(HIX) increased by a final average of 9.0%for duckweed treatments.Meanwhile,the duckweed growth leaded to a lower biological index(BIX) and a higher proportion of microbial-derived fulvic acids than controls.In conclusion,the duckweed remediation not only enhanced the removal rate of organic matter in swine effluent,but also increased the percent of humic substances. | Lei Li Ming Liu Meng Wu Chunyu Jiang Xiaofen Chen Xiaoyan Ma Jia Liu Weitao Li Xiaoxue Tang Zhongpei Li | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,5: | 2 |

| 20 | Modeling of Mesoscale Creep Behaviors and Macroscale Creep Responses of Composite Fuels Under Irradiation Conditions显示文摘A finite-strain homogenization creep model for composite fuels under irradiation conditions is developed and verified,with the irradiation creep strains of the fuel particles and matrix correlated to the macroscale creep responses,excluding the contributions of volumetric strain induced by the irradiation swelling deformations of fuel particles.A finite element(FE)modeling method for uniaxial tensile creep tests is established with the irradiation effects of nuclear materials taken into account.The proposed models and simulation strategy are numerically implemented to a kind of composite nuclear fuel,and the predicted mesoscale creep behaviors and the macroscale creep responses are investigated.The research results indicate that:(1)the macroscale creep responses and the mesoscale stress and strain fields are all greatly affected by the irradiation swelling of fuel particles,owing to the strengthened mechanical interactions between the fuel particles and the matrix.(2)The effective creep rates for a certain case are approximately two constants before and after the critical fission density,which results from the accelerated fission gas swelling after fuel grain recrystallization,and the effects of macroscale tensile stress will be more enhanced at higher temperatures.(3)The macroscale creep contributions from the fuel particles and matrix depend mainly on the current volume fractions varying with fission density.(4)As a function of the macroscale stress,temperature,initial particle volume fraction and particle fission rate,a multi-variable mathematical model for effective creep rates is fitted out for the considered composite fuels,which matches well with the FE predictions.This study supplies important theoretical models and research methods for the multi-scale creep behaviors of various composite fuels and provides a basis for simulation of the thermal–mechanical behavior in related composite fuel elements and assemblies. | Jing Zhang Jingyu Zhang Haoyu Wang Changbing Tang Pan Yuan Chunyu Yin Shurong Ding Yuanming Li | 2022 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2022,35,6: | 0 |
