| 1 | Experimental Study on Interaction Between Degrees of Freedom in a Wave Buoy显示文摘Increasing degrees of freedom(DOFs)is a useful way to raise the power capture efficiency of oscillating wave energy converters.Thus,this study proposes a buoy with three DOFs,which are surge,heave,and pitch.The hydrodynamic performance and power capture efficiency of the buoy is physically modeled.Amplitudes of unidirectional and coupled motions are compared to analyze the interaction effect between freedoms under conditions with and without power take-off damping.The capture width ratio and corresponding growth rates are also calculated.Results show that the buoy makes a periodic sinusoidal(or approximate)movement in every DOF.Coupling effect can cause an increase in the amplitude in one DOF and a decrease in the amplitudes of the others.This phenomenon shows that the kinematic energy of the buoy redistributes to all DOFs compared with the unidirectional conditions.Adding DOFs can improve the power absorption of the buoy in most cases,but the number of DOFs is not the more the better. | HUANG Shuting SHI Hongda CAO Feifei TAN Junzhe CHENG Haixun LI Demin LIU Shangze GONG Haoxiang TAO Ji | 2019 | Journal of Ocean University of China2019,18,6: | 5 |
| 2 | Preparation, characterization, antimicrobial and cytotoxicity studies of copper/zincloaded montmorillonite显示文摘Background: A series of modified montmorillonites(Mt) including zinc-loaded Mt(Zn-Mt), copper-loaded Mt(Cu-Mt), copper/zinc-loaded Mt with different Cu/Zn ratio(Cu/Zn-Mt-1, Cu/Zn-Mt-2, Cu/Zn-Mt-3) were prepared by an ion-exchange reaction, and characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD), fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). The specific surface areas, antimicrobial activity and cytotoxicity of the modified Mt were investigated.Results: In the modified Mt, hydrated Cu ions and Zn ions were exchanged in the interlayer space of Mt and the particles were irregular shapes. The results showed that Cu/Zn-Mt enhanced antibacterial and antifungal activity compared with Zn-Mt and Cu-Mt possibly due to the synergistic effect between Cu and Zn. Among the Cu/Zn-Mt with different Cu/Zn raitos, Cu/Zn-Mt with a Cu/Zn ratio of 0.98 or 0.51 showed higher antimicrobial activity against gram-negative bacteria(Escherichia coli), gram-positive bacteria(Staphylococcus aureus), fungi(Candida albicans).Moreover, the antimicrobial activity of Cu/Zn-Mt was correlated with its specific surface area. | 5 | Effects of dietary tributyrin on intestinal mucosa development,mitochondrial function and AMPK-mTOR pathway in weaned pigs显示文摘Background:The objective of this experiment was to investigate the influence of dietary tributyrin on intestinal mucosa development,oxidative stress,mitochondrial function and AMPK-mTOR signaling pathway.Methods:Seventy-two pigs were divided into two treatments and received either a basal diet or the same diet supplemented with 750 mg/kg tributyrin.Each treatment has six replicates of six pigs.After 14 days,6 pigs from each treatment were selected and the jejunal samples were collected.Results:Results showed that supplemental tributyrin increased(P<0.05)villus height and villus height:crypt depth of weaned pigs.Pigs fed tributyrin had greater(P<0.05)RNA/DNA and protein/DNA ratios than pigs on the control group.The mRNA levels of sodium glucose transport protein-1 and glucose transporter-2 in the jejunum were upregulated(P<0.05)in pigs fed the tributyrin diet.Dietary tributyrin supplementation lowered(P<0.05)the malondialdehyde and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)content in jejunum,enhanced(P<0.05)the mitochondrial function,as demonstrated by decreased(P<0.05)reactive oxygen species level and increased(P<0.05)mitochondrial membrane potential.Furthermore,tributyrin increased(P<0.05)mitochondrial DNA content and the mRNA abundance of genes related to mitochondrial functions,including peroxisomal proliferator-activated receptor-γcoactivator-1α,mitochondrial transcription factor A,nuclear respiratory factor-1 in the jejunum.Supplementation with tributyrin elevated(P<0.05)the phosphorylation level of AMPK and inhibited(P<0.05)the phosphorylation level of mTOR in jejunum compared with the control group.Conclusions:These findings suggest that dietary supplementation with tributyrin promotes intestinal mucosa growth,extenuates oxidative stress,improves mitochondrial function and modulates the AMPK-mTOR signal pathway of weaned pigs. | Chunchun Wang Shuting Cao Zhuojun Shen Qihua Hong Jie Feng Yan Peng Caihong Hu | 2020 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2020,11,2: | 3 |
| 6 | Small interfering RNA delivery to the neurons near the amyloid plaques for improved treatment of Alzheimer’s disease显示文摘Gene therapy represents a promising treatment for the Alzheimer’s disease(AD). However,gene delivery specific to brain lesions through systemic administration remains big challenge. In our previous work, we have developed an siRNA nanocomplex able to be specifically delivered to the amyloid plaques through surface modification with both CGN peptide for the blood–brain barrier(BBB)penetration and QSH peptide for β-amyloid binding. But, whether the as-designed nanocomplex could indeed improve the gene accumulation in the impaired neuron cells and ameliorate AD-associated symptoms remains further study. Herein, we prepared the nanocomplexes with an siRNA against β-site amyloid precursor protein-cleaving enzyme 1(BACE1), the rate-limiting enzyme of Aβ production, as the therapeutic siRNA of AD. The nanocomplexes exhibited high distribution in the Aβ deposits-enriched hippocampus, especially in the neurons near the amyloid plaques after intravenous administration. In APP/PS1 transgenic mice, the nanocomplexes down-regulated BACE1 in both mRNA and protein levels,as well as Aβ and amyloid plaques to the level of wild-type mice. Moreover, the nanocomplexes significantly increased the level of synaptophysin and rescued memory loss of the AD transgenic mice without hematological or histological toxicity. | 9 | Alterations in intestinal microbiota composition coincide with impaired intestinal morphology and dysfunctional ileal immune response in growing-finishing pigs under constant chronic heat stress显示文摘Background:Previous studies had shown that short-term acute heat stress(HS)affected the host’s metabolism and intestinal microbiota independent of feed intake(FI)reduction,and long-term calorie restriction caused intestinal morphological injuries and gut microbial alterations.However,research on the effects of constant chronic HS on intestinal microbial composition and the roles of FI reduction played in is limited.This study aimed to investigate the effects of 7-day constant chronic HS on the composition of intestinal microbes in growing-finishing pigs,and its relationship with pigs’performance,intestinal morphology,and ileal immune response.Twenty-four growingfinishing pigs(Duroc×Large White×Landrace,30±1 kg body weight)were randomly assigned to three treatments(n=8),1)thermal neutral(TN)conditions(25±1℃)with ad libitum FI,2)HS conditions(35±1℃)with ad libitum FI,3)pair-fed(PF)with HS under TN conditions to discriminate the confounding effects of dissimilar FI,and the FI was the previous day’s average FI of HS.The small intestinal segments(duodenum,jejunum,and ileum)and feces were collected on d 8.Results:Results indicated that HS drastically declined(P<0.05)average daily gain(ADG)and average daily feed intake(ADFI)(about 61%)in comparison with TN,and caused hyperpyrexia,meanwhile PF caused hypothermia.Morphological observation by light and electron microscopes showed that both HS and PF treatment decreased(P<0.05)the villus and microvillus height compared with TN.Additionally,HS increased(P<0.05)protein expression of heat shock protein 70 in the duodenum,jejunum,and ileum.Furthermore,the expression of tight junction protein zonula occluden-1(ZO-1)in the duodenum and ileum,and Occludin in the ileum were enhanced(P<0.05)compared with TN and PF.Moreover,HS significantly enhanced(P<0.05)the mRNA relative expression of inflammatory cytokines(TLR-2,TLR-4,and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),IL-6,IL-8,PG1–5,β-defensin 2(pBD-2)),mucins(mucin-1 and mucin-2)and P65 protein level in the ileal mucosa tissue.Intestinal microbiota analysis by 16S rRNA sequencing showed lower(P<0.10)αdiversity in both HS and PF,and a separated cluster ofβdiversity among groups.Compared with TN,HS but not PF mainly reduced(FDR<0.05)Bacteroidetes(phylum),Bacteroidia(class)and elevated the proportions of Proteobacteria(phylum,FDR<0.05),Bacillales(order,FDR<0.05),Planococcaceae(family,FDR<0.05),Kurthia(genus,FDR<0.05),Streptococcaceae(family,FDR<0.10)and Streptococcus(genus,FDR<0.10).Notably,Lactobacillales(order)was decreased(FDR<0.05)by PF alone.Furthermore,the Spearman correlation analysis indicated that the microbes prevalent in HS were positively(P<0.05)associated with intestinal morphological injuries indicators and ileal immune response parameters,and the microbes reduced in HS were negatively(P<0.05)with the performance data.Conclusions:Intestinal morphological injuries and ileal immune response caused by constant chronic HS independent of FI showed close connections with alterations in intestinal microbiota in growing-finishing pigs. | Yunxia Xiong Shuting Cao Hao Xiao Qiwen Wu Hongbo Yi Zongyong Jiang Li Wang | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,3: | 2 |
| 10 | Low-bandgap conjugated polymers based on benzodipyrrolidone with reliable unipolar electron mobility exceeding 1 cm^(2) V^(-1)s^(-1)显示文摘The employment of an intrinsic quinoidal building block,benzodipyrrolidone(BDP),on constructing conjugated polymers(PBDP-2F and PBDP-2CN)with high electron mobility and unipolar transport characteristic in polyethylenimine ethoxylated(PEIE)modified organic field-effect transistors(OFETs)is reported.The intrinsic quinoidal characteristic and excellent coplanarity of BDP can lower the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)levels and improve ordered interchain packing of the resulting polymers in solid states,which are favorable for electron-injection and transport.By using PEIE as the interlayer to block the hole injection,unipolar n-type transport characteristics with high electron mobility of 0.58 and 1.01 cm^(2) V^(-1)s^(-1)were achieved by the OFETs based on PBDP-2F and PBDP-2CN,respectively.More importantly,the extracted mobilities are highly reliable with the reliability factor of above 80%.To the best of our knowledge,PBDP-2CN is the very first quinoid-based conjugated polymer with reliable electron mobility exceeding 1 cm^(2) V^(-1)s^(-1).This work represents a significant step in exploring intrinsic quinoidal CPs for application in n-channel OFETs and logic complementary circuits. | Mingqun Yang Tian Du Xuxia Zhao Xuelong Huang Langheng Pan Shuting Pang Haoran Tang Zhongxiang Peng Long Ye Yunfeng Deng Mingliang Sun Chunhui Duan Fei Huang Yong Cao | 2021 | Science China Chemistry2021,64,7: | 1 |
| 11 | Influence of yttrium on purification and carbide precipitation of superalloy K4169显示文摘The effect of reactive element yttrium on purification and carbide precipitation of superalloy K4169 has been studied through vacuum induction melting.The results show that yttrium has a strong deoxidizing and desulfurizing ability,and the impurity elements of sulfur and oxygen in melting K4169 are greatly reduced to 2-5 ppm and 4-5 ppm,respectively.The metallurgical reaction product is mainly Y_(2)O_(3)and yttrium containing sulfides have not been observed.With the increase of the content of yttrium from0.005 wt.%to 0.033 wt.%,the morphology and size of MC carbides in casting are significantly influenced due to that the yttrium changes the diffusion of the carbide forming elements and solid fraction during solidification.In the alloys without yttrium,only isolated blocky or strip carbides exist,while skeletonlike carbides are observed in the alloys with yttrium.Both the average size and the number density of skeleton carbides decrease monotonously with yttrium content increasing.After yttrium increasing to 0.033 wt.%,a phase of hexagonal Ni17 Y2 is observed to precipitate in the form of symbiosis with MC carbide and matrix.The addition of yttrium is not beneficial for the properties of K4169 alloys at the room temperature,which is quite related to the MC carbides with a large skeleton-like morphology through the analysis of tensile fracture. | Shuting Cao Yaqian Yang Bo Chen Kui Liu Yingche Ma Leilei Ding Junjie Shi | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,27: | 1 |

| 14 | High open-circuit voltage organic solar cells enabled by a difluorobenzoxadiazole-based conjugated polymer donor显示文摘A new polymer donor based on 3,3′-difluoro-2,2′-bithiophene(2F2T) and difluorobenzoxadiazole(ffBX), named 2F2T-ffBX, is designed and synthesized. The organic solar cell(OSC) based on 2F2T-ffBX donor and [6,6]-phenyl-C60-butyl acid methyl ester([60]PCBM) acceptor exhibits a high efficiency of 7.3% with a high open-circuit voltage(Voc) of 1.03 V. When blended with perylenediimide-based acceptor(PDI6), the corresponding OSC shows a higher Voc of 1.19 V with a low energy loss of 0.50 e V but a much lower efficiency of 2.0%. | 17 | Deformation behavior and fluid action of quartz veins in the Xuelongshan metamorphic complex,Western Yunnan显示文摘The Xuelongshan metamorphic complex underwent Cenozoic sinistral strike-slip shearing and exhumation from deep to shallow in the southeast margin of the Tibet Plateau.We studied the deformation behavior and fluid action of quartz veins in the metamorphic complex in depth based on macroscopic observation,electron backscatter diffraction fabric,and fluid inclusion analysis.The mylonitic samples are characterized by strongly elongated and orientated porphyroclasts and a finegrained matrix with a shear strain of 2.4.The ultramylonitic samples are characterized by a strongly fine-grained matrix with a shear strain of 5.8.The{m}glide controls the quartz deformation in the mylonites and ultramylonites.As the dominant recovery mechanism,subgrain rotation dynamic recrystallization reduces the grain size and promotes rheological weakening.The porphyroclasts restrict the crystal orientation of the recrystallized quartz matrix.The mylonitic quartz veins have abundant single-phase and two-phase fluid inclusions.However,the ultramylonitic quartz veins have a few fluid inclusions,most of which are small and irregular toward the grain boundaries.The temperature and pressure of fluid activity in quartz veins are 550–500℃and 391–218 MPa for ultramylonitic quartz veins,with a depth of 14.2–7.9 km and 450–400℃and 236–91 MPa for mylonitic quartz veins,with a depth of 8.6–3.3 km.The deformation process changes the shape of fluid inclusions from mylonitization to ultramylonitization and causes fluid leakage,an increase in local fluid pressure at the boundary,and hydrolysis weakening,promoting lattice dislocation glide and recrystallization,which is directly related to regional continuous shear deformation and exhumation. | Shuting WANG Shuyun CAO Lefan ZHAN Xuemei CHENG Yanlong DONG Xiaowen LI Wenyuan LI | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,9: | 0 |
| 18 | Divide and conquer: Machine learning accelerated design of lead-free solder alloys with high strength and high ductility显示文摘The attainment of both high strength and high ductility is always the goal for structure materials,because the two properties generally are mutually competing,called strength-ductility trade-off.Nowadays,the data-driven paradigm combined with expert domain knowledge provides the state-of-the-art methodology to design and discovery for structure materials with high strength and high ductility.To enhance both strength and ductility,a joint feature is proposed here to be the product of strength multiplying ductility.The strategy of“divide and conquer”is developed to solve the contradictory problem,that material experimental data of mechanical behaviors are,in general,small in size and big in noise,while the design space is huge,by a newly developed data preprocessing algorithm,named the Tree-Classifier for Gaussian Process Regression(TCGPR).The TCGPR effectively divides an original dataset in a huge design space into three appropriate sub-domains and then three Machine Learning(ML)models conquer the three sub-domains,achieving significantly improved prediction accuracy and generality.After that the Bayesian sampling is applied to design next experiments by balancing exploitation and exploration.Finally,the experiment results confirm the ML predictions,exhibiting novel lead-free solder alloys with high strength high ductility.Various material characterizations were also conducted to explore the mechanism of high strength and high ductility of the alloys. | Qinghua Wei Bin Cao Hao Yuan Youyang Chen Kangdong You Shuting Yu Tixin Yang Ziqiang Dong Tong-Yi Zhang | 2023 | npj Computational Materials2023,,1: | 0 |
