| 2 | Effect of quercetin on the expression of Bcl-2/Bax apoptotic proteins in endometrial cells of lipopolysaccharide-induced-abortion mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of quercetin on the expressions of Bcl-2/Bax apoptotic proteins in endometrial cells in mice with abortion induced by lipopolysaccharide.METHODS: For in vivo experiment, twenty five Kunming mice were randomly divided into five groups at day 4 of pregnancy, with 5 mice per group. The mice were treated with lipopolysaccharide(LPS)through tail vein intravenous injection at day 4 of pregnancy, followed by different concentrations of quercetin by oral gavage consecutively at days 5 to6 of pregnancy. On day 7 of gestation, the mice were sacrificed and the histopathological changes of the uterus tissues were observed. Immunohistochemical staining was applied to the detection of Bcl-2/Bax apoptotic proteins in the endometrial cells. For in vitro experiment, the primary endometrial cells werecultured using a uterus tissue mass culturing method sampled at day 4.5 of pregnancy. The cells were treated with LPS with or without different dosages of quercetin, respectively, for 12 h after 80% confluence. The expression of Bcl-2/Bax apoptotic proteins were detected by western blotting.RESULTS: Both the in vivo and in vitro experiments showed decreased expression of Bcl-2 and enhanced expression of Bax after LPS treatment, leading to a decreased Bcl-2/Bax ratio. | 3 | Enhancing the dynamic electron transfer of Au species on wormhole-like TS-1 for boosting propene epoxidation performance with H_(2) and O_(2)显示文摘Engineering unique electronic structure of catalyst to boost catalytic performance is of prime scientific and industrial importance.Herein,the identification of intrinsic electronic sensitivity for direct propene epoxidation was first achieved over highly stable Au/wormhole-like TS-1 catalyst.Results show that the electron transfer of Au species can be regulated by manipulating the dynamic evolutions and contents of Au valence states,thus resulting in different catalytic performance in 100 h time-on-stream.By DFT calculations,kinetic analysis and multicharacterizations,it is found that the Au^(0) species with higher electronic population can easily transfer more electrons to activate surface O_(2) compared with Au^(1+) and Au^(3+) species.Moreover,there is a positive correlation between Au^(0) content and activity.Based on this correlation,a facile strategy is further proposed to boost Au^(0) percentage,resulting in the reported highest PO formation rate without adding promoters.This work harbors tremendous guiding significance to the design of highly efficient Au/Ti-containing catalyst for propene epoxidation with H_(2) and O_(2). | Dong Lin Xiuhui Zheng Xiang Feng Nan Sheng Zhaoning Song Yibin Liu Xiaobo Chen Zhenping Cai De Chen Chaohe Yang | 2020 | Green Energy & Environment2020,5,4: | 1 |

| 6 | Synthesis and Characterization of Porous Magnesium Aluminate Spinel by Hydrothermal Process显示文摘Magnesium aluminate spinel has a great prospect in catalyst supports due to the porous structure, good catalytic activity, high thermal stability and the presence of two active centers as acid and alkaline. The magnesium aluminate spinel powders were synthesized by a hydrothermal process. The samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms, respectively. The particle surface with the laminated structure increases with the increase of hydrothermal temperature and hydrothermal time. The spinel has a worm-like porous structure, and the pores become smaller and well-distributed under hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide condition. The phase of the spinel appears at 450°C and the perfect crystalline structure emerges at 600°C. The percentage of Mg Al2O4 spinel increases with the increase of heat treatment temperature. The spinel has a great specific surface area(i.e., 245.68–58.65 m2/g) when the calcinating temperature increases from 500 to 1200°C. | 10 | Analysis of the distribution characteristics of enterovirus types based on environmental surveillance from 2013 to 2021 in Fujian Province, China显示文摘Environmental surveillance (ES) is a useful approach for monitoring circulating viruses, including polioviruses (PVs) and non-polio enteroviruses (NPEVs). In this study, the results of nine years of ES from 2013 to 2021 at six sampling sites in three cities in Fujian Province, China, were summarized. It showed that the sewage samples contained abundant viruses, but the positive rate was affected by different sampling sites. From the 520 samples, 431 PVs, 1,713 NPEVs, and 281 human adenoviruses (HAdVs) were isolated. PV isolates had been markedly affected following the adjustment of the immunization strategy. All but one PV isolate were Sabin-like strains without wild PVs. One isolate was vaccine-derived PV type 3 with 10 variation points in theVP1 region. After May 2016, PV type 2 was no longer detected, and PV type 3 became a superior serotype. Of 1,713 NPEVs, 24 serotypes were identified, including echovirus11 (E11), E6, coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3), CVB5, E7, and E3 were the predominant serotypes (37.65%, 20.96%, 11.50%, 8.87%, 8.23%, and 7.06%, respectively). The temporal dynamic of the six common serotypes was inconsistent. E3 was frequently isolated, but the number of isolates was low, with no obvious peaks. E6, E7, and CVB3 exhibited periodic changes with a high peak every three to four years, and E11 only had one high peak lasting four years. Summer-fall peaks of the echoviruses and spring-winter peaks of CVB were observed in the monthly distribution of virus isolation. | 11 | Estimation of inverse Compton peak frequency for 4FGL Blazars显示文摘This study uses a parabolic equation to fit the Inverse Compton (IC) spectral component of 3743 blazars (794 FSRQs,1432 BLLacs,and 1517 BCUs) from the 4FGL-DR3 catalog.Some mutual correlations are investigated,and a Bayesian classification is performed to the IC peak frequencies.Our analyses draw the following conclusions:(1) The Bayesian classification shows two components with a dividing boundary of log(v_(p)^(IC)/Hz)pIC=22.9.Therefore,the 3743 blazars are divided into low IC peak frequency(LCP) blazars and high IC peak frequency (HCP) blazars.(2) A strong linear correlation exists between IC peak frequency(logv_(p)^(IC)) and γ-ray photon spectral index (Γ).The IC peak frequency can be estimated by an empirical relation logv_(p)^(IC)=–4.5·Γ+32.8 for BL Lacs and logv_(p)^(IC)=4.0+31.4pICfor FSRQs,which is consistent with the result by Abdo et al.(3) The ICspectral curvature and IC peak frequency are not as closely related as the synchrotron curvature and the synchrotron peak frequency.(4) An anti-correlation exists between IC peak frequency and IC peak luminosity,implying that as the IC peak frequency in the γ-ray band decreases,the source becomes more luminous.The beaming effect is stronger for the source with a lower IC peak frequency.(5) Positive correlations exist between IC and synchrotron components for both peak frequencies and peak fluxes,but no clear correlation exists between IC curvature and synchrotron curvature. | JiangHe Yang JunHui Fan Yi Liu ManXian Tuo ZhiYuan Pei WenXin Yang YuHai Yuan SiLe He ShengHui Wang XiaoHai Qu YueLian Zhang JianJun Nie XiuHui Chen | 2023 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,4: | 0 |
| 12 | Enlarged fins of Tibetan catfish provide new evidence of adaptation to high plateau显示文摘The uplift of the Tibetan Plateau significantly altered the geomorphology and climate of the Euroasia by creating large mountains and rivers.Fishes are more likely to be affected relative to other organisms,as they are largely restricted to river systems.Faced with the rapidly flowing water in the Tibetan Plateau,a group of catfish has evolved greatly enlarged pectoral fins with more numbers of fin-rays to form an adhesive apparatus.However,the genetic basis of these adaptations in Tibetan catfishes remains elusive.In this study,we performed comparative genomic analyses based on the chromosome-level genome of Glyptosternum maculatum in family Sisoridae and detected some proteins with conspicuously high evolutionary rates in particular in genes involved in skeleton development,energy metabolism,and hypoxia response.We found that the hoxd12a gene evolved faster and a loss-of-function assay of hoxd12a supports a potential role for this gene in shaping the enlarged fins of these Tibetan catfishes.Other genes with amino acid replacements and signatures of positive selection included proteins involved in low temperature(TRMU)and hypoxia(VHL)responses.Functional assays reveal that the G.maculatum TRMU allele generates more mitochondrial ATP than the ancestral allele found in low-altitude fishes.Functional assays of VHL alleles suggest that the G.maculatum allele has lower transactivation activity than the low-altitude forms.These findings provide a window into the genomic underpinnings of physiological adaptations that permit G.maculatum to survive in the harsh environment of the Tibetan Himalayas that mirror those that are convergently found in other vertebrates such as humans. | Liandong Yang Ning Sun Honghui Zeng Ying Wang Wenjun Chen Zufa Ding Yang Liu Jing Wang Minghui Meng Yanjun Shen Jingliang Kang Xiuhui Ma Wenqi Lv Juan Chen Axel Meyer Baocheng Guo Shunping He | 2023 | Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,7: | 0 |
