| 1 | The material and biological characteristics of osteoinductive calcium phosphate ceramics显示文摘The discovery of osteoinductivity of calcium phosphate(Ca-P)ceramics has set an enduring paradigm of conferring biological regenerative activity to materials with carefully designed structural characteristics.The unique phase composition and porous structural features of osteoinductive Ca-P ceramics allow it to interact with signaling molecules and extracellular matrices in the host system,creating a local environment conducive to new bone formation.Mounting evidence now indicate that the osteoinductive activity of Ca-P ceramics is linked to their physicochemical and three-dimensional structural properties.Inspired by this conceptual breakthrough,many laboratories have shown that other materials can be also enticed to join the rank of tissue-inducing biomaterials,and besides the bones,other tissues such as cartilage,nerves and blood vessels were also regenerated with the assistance of biomaterials.Here,we give a brief historical recount about the discovery of the osteoinductivity of Ca-P ceramics,summarize the underlying material factors and biological characteristics,and discuss the mechanism of osteoinduction concerning protein adsorption,and the interaction with different types of cells,and the involvement of the vascular and immune systems. | Zhurong Tang Xiangfeng Li Yanfei Tan Hongsong Fan Xingdong Zhang | 2018 | Regenerative Biomaterials2018,5,1: | 20 |
| 2 | Development and utilization of a new chemically-induced soybean library with a high mutation density显示文摘Mutagenized populations have provided important materials for introducing variation and identifying gene function in plants. In this study, an ethyl methanesulfonate(EMS)-induced soybean(Glycine max) population,consisting of 21,600 independent M_2 lines, was developed.Over 1,000 M_(4(5))families, with diverse abnormal phenotypes for seed composition, seed shape, plant morphology and maturity that are stably expressed across different environments and generations were identified. Phenotypic analysis of the population led to the identification of a yellow pigmentation mutant, gyl, that displayed significantly decreased chlorophyll(Chl) content and abnormal chloroplast development. Sequence analysis showed that gyl is allelic to Minn Gold, where a different single nucleotide polymorphism variation in the Mg-chelatase subunit gene(ChlI1a) results in golden yellow leaves. A cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence marker was developed and may be applied to marker-assisted selection for the golden yellow phenotype in soybean breeding. | 4 | Immobilization of RGD Peptide onto the Surface of Apatite-Wollastonite Ceramic for Enhanced Osteoblast Adhesion and Bone Regeneration显示文摘The arginine-glycine-aspartic(RGD) acid peptide was grafted to the surface of apatitewollastonite(AW) ceramic in an effort to improve its cell adhesion, proliferation and osteoinduction. RGD peptide was covalently immobilized onto the surface of AW ceramic via the synthetic cross linker AAPTS-E and 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide(EDC). The modified surfaces were characterized by attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(ATR-FTIR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The chemical analysis indicated that RGD peptide had been immobilized onto the AW surface successfully. The growth of osteoblast-like cells(MG63) showed that modifying the AW surface with RGD peptide enhanced the cell adhesion and proliferation. The first-order moment of the specific input as well as the inverse nonlinear mapping of the Hammerstein model are combined to establish a relationship between the system output and the system parameters, which implies an approach to identifying the system blindly. | 6 | Temporal and spatial stability of the EM/PM molecular subtypes in adult diffuse glioma显示文摘Detailed characterizations of genomic alterations have not identified subtype-specific vulnerabilities in adult gliomas. Mapping gliomas into developmental programs may uncover new vulnerabilities that are not strictly related to genomic alterations. After identifying conserved gene modules co-expressed with EGFR or PDGFRA (EM or PM), we recently proposed an EM/PM classification scheme for adult gliomas in a histological subtype- and grade-independent manner. By using cohorts of bulk samples, paired primary and recurrent samples, multi-region samples from the same glioma, single-cell RNA-seq samples, and clinical samples, we here demonstrate the temporal and spatial stability of the EM and PM subtypes. The EM and PM subtypes, which progress in a subtype-specific mode, are robustly maintained in paired longitudinal samples. Elevated activities of cell proliferation, genomic instability and microenvironment, rather than subtype switching, mark recurrent gliomas. Within individual gliomas, the EM/PM subtype was preserved across regions and single cells. Malignant cells in the EM and PM gliomas were correlated to neural stem cell and oligodendrocyte progenitor cell compartment, respectively. Thus, while genetic makeup may change during progression and/or within different tumor areas, adult gliomas evolve within a neurodevelopmental framework of the EM and PM molecular subtypes. | 9 | GACS:Generative Adversarial Imitation Learning Based on Control Sharing显示文摘Generative adversarial imitation learning(GAIL)directly imitates the behavior of experts from human demonstration instead of designing explicit reward signals like reinforcement learning.Meanwhile,GAIL overcomes the defects of traditional imitation learning by using a generative adversary network framework and shows excellent performance in many fields.However,GAIL directly acts on immediate rewards,a feature that is reflected in the value function after a period of accumulation.Thus,when faced with complex practical problems,the learning efficiency of GAIL is often extremely low and the policy may be slow to learn.One way to solve this problem is to directly guide the action(policy)in the agents'learning process,such as the control sharing(CS)method.This paper combines reinforcement learning and imitation learning and proposes a novel GAIL framework called generative adversarial imitation learning based on control sharing policy(GACS).GACS learns model constraints from expert samples and uses adversarial networks to guide learning directly.The actions are produced by adversarial networks and are used to optimize the policy and effectively improve learning efficiency.Experiments in the autonomous driving environment and the real-time strategy game breakout show that GACS has better generalization capabilities,more efficient imitation of the behavior of experts,and can learn better policies relative to other frameworks. | Huaiwei SI Guozhen TAN Dongyu LI Yanfei PENG | 2023 | Journal of Systems Science and Information2023,11,1: | 0 |
