| 1 | Characterization, treatment and releases of PBDEs and PAHs in a typical municipal sewage treatment plant situated beside an urban river, East China显示文摘Characterization, treatment and releases of eight polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) congeners and sixteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in wastewater were evaluated along the treatment processes of a typical secondary treatment municipal sewage treatment plant (STP) (in Hefei City) situated the beside Nanfei River, East China. The findings showed that the average concentrations of the total PBDEs in raw wastewater and treated effluent were 188.578 and 36.884 ng/L respectively. Brominated diphenyl ether (BDE) 209 congener, the predominant PBDE in the STP and Nanfei River, could be related to the discharge of car-industry-derived wastes. For PAHs, the average concentrations in raw wastewater and treated effluent were 5758.8 and 2240.4 ng/L respectively, with naphthalene, benzo[a]pyrene and indeno[1,2,3-c,d]pyrene being detected at the highest concentrations. PAHs mainly originate from the combustion of biomass/coal and petroleum. The STP reduced about 80% of the PBDEs and 61% of the PAHs, which were eliminated mainly by sedimentation processes. The removal rates of PBDEs/PAHs increased with the increase of their solid-water partitioning coefficients. Accordingly, the STP's effluent, containing some PBDE congeners (e.g., BDE 47, 99 and 209, etc.) and low-molecular-weight PAHs, could be an important contributor of these contaminants' input to Nanfei River. It resulted in a significant increase of PBDE/PAH concentrations and PAH toxicological risk in the river water downstream. About 4.040 kg/yr of PBDEs and 245.324 kg/yr of PAHs could be released into the Nanfei River. | 2 | LIN28 coordinately promotes nucleolar/ribosomal functions and represses the 2C-like transcriptional program in pluripotent stem cells显示文摘LIN28 is an RNA binding protein with important roles in early embryo development,stem cell differentiation/re-programming,tumorigenesis and metabolism.Previous studies have focused mainly on its role in the cytosol where it interacts with Let-7 microRNA precursors or mRNAs,and few have addressed LIN28's role within the nucleus.Here,we show that LIN28 displays dynamic temporal and spatial expression during murine embryo development.Maternal LIN28 expression drops upon exit from the 2-cell stage,and zygotic LIN28 protein is induced at the forming nucleolus during 4-cell to blas-tocyst stage development,to become dominantly expressed in the cytosol after implantation.In cultured pluripotent stem cells(PSCs),loss of LIN28 led to nucleolar stress and activation of a 2-cell/4-cell-like transcriptional program characterized by the expression of endogenous retrovirus genes.Mechanistically,LIN28 binds to small nucleolar RNAs and rRNA to maintain nucleolar integrity,and its loss leads to nucleolar phase separation defects,ribosomal stress and activation of P53 which in turn binds to and activates 2C transcription factor Dux.LIN28 also resides in a complex containing the nucleolar factor Nucleolin(NCL)and the transcrip-tional repressor TRIM28,and LIN28 loss leads to reduced occupancy of the NCL/TRIM28 complex on the Dux and rDNA loci,and thus de-repressed Dux and reduced rRNA expression.Lin28 knockout cells with nucleolar stress are more likely to assume a slowly cycling,translationally inert and anabolically inactive state,which is a part of previously unappreciated 2C-like transcriptional program.These findings elucidate novel roles for nucleolar LIN28 in PSCs,and a new mechanism linking 2C program and nucleolar functions in PSCs and early embryo development. | Zhen Sun Hua Yu Jing Zhao Tianyu Tan Hongru Pan Yuqing Zhu Lang Chen Cheng Zhang Li Zhang Anhua Lei Yuyan Xu Xianju Bi Xin Huang Bo Gao Longfei Wang Cristina Correia Ming Chen Qiming Sun Yu Feng Li Shen Hao Wu Jianlong Wang Xiaohua Shen George Q.Daley Hu Li Jin Zhang | 2022 | Protein & Cell2022,13,7: | 4 |
| 3 | Phase–amplitude model for doubly fed induction generators显示文摘The doubly fed induction generator(DFIG) is major type of wind turbine generator used in grid-connected wind farms. Practical models of DFIG have been built to study the influence of wind power generation on power system dynamics. However, most existing practical models of the DFIG are based on rectangular coordinates,in which frequency variation is neglected. In this paper, a phase-amplitude(P-A) model is proposed for a DFIG based on phase and amplitude of the internal voltage. The model structure is much like that of the synchronous generator, and the rotor voltage can manipulate both the amplitude and the phase of the internal voltage.Comparisons have been made between the new P-A model of the DFIG and the synchronous generator model,as well as the asynchronous motor model.The contributions of the new P-A model of the DFIG are discussed and it is demonstrated that the proposed model has better ability in describing power system dynamic phenomena such as voltage dynamics and structural dynamics. | 4 | 奥曲肽持续皮下泵入治疗恶性肠梗阻的临床观察(英文)显示文摘Objective: The aim of the study was to observe the effectiveness of continuously subcutaneous-pumped octreotide infusion in palliative treatment of malignant bowel obstruction (MBO).Methods: Clinical data were retrospectively analyzed in 26 carcinoma patients complicated with MBO,in the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,China,from March 2007 to April 2009.All 26 carcinoma patients with MBO were divided into two groups: the controlling group (CG,routine therapy,15 patients) and the octreotide group (OG,11 patients).The octreotide group received routine therapy combined with octreotide (0.3 mg/d) by 24 hours continuously subcutaneous octreotide infusion.The changes of curative effectiveness related to symptoms,the times of recovering exsufflation and defecation,the average drain of gastrointestinal drainage tube,the duration of gastrointestinal drainage tube and the rate of extubation,were observed and compared between the two groups.Results: After treatment,remarkable changing rates of MBO related symptoms were 81.8% (9/11) in OG,and 46.7% (7/15) in CG (P < 0.05).The 78% of SG and 30% of CG recovered the exsufflation and defecation,and the mean times they needed were 3.2 d and 5.8 d,respectively (P < 0.05).The durations of gastrointestinal drainage tube of OG and CG were (5 ± 1.2) d and (10 ± 2.3) d,respectively,and the rates of extubation were 54.5% and 20%,respectively.The improvement rate in the octreotide group was better than that in the controlling group and the difference was significant (72.7% and 26.7%,P < 0.05).Conclusion: The administration of octreotide in combination with routine treatment can be very effective in the treatment of MBO.It can relieve the symptoms of MBO effectively and improve the quality of life of the end-stage patients.It has provided one kind of new treating thought and method for treatment of malignant bowel obstruction. | Dongfeng Yin Yin Zhu Yuqing Xing Hong Gao Yuzhen Pan Lin Pan Guangyi Tang Xiangrong Xing Lijiang Zhou | 2011 | The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2011,10,1: | 2 |

| 9 | Canonical and early lineage-specific stem cell types identified in planarian SirNeoblasts显示文摘Background:The pluripotent stem cells in planarians,a model for tissue and cellular regeneration,remain further identification.We recently developed a method to enrich piwi-1+cells in Schmidtea mediterranea,by staining cells with SiR-DNA and Cell Tracker Green,named SirNeoblasts that permits their propagation and subsequent functional study in vivo.Since traditional enrichment for planarian neoblasts by Hoechst 33342 staining generates X1 cells,blocking the cell cycle and inducing cytotoxicity,this method by SiR-DNA and Cell Tracker Green represents a complementary technological advance for functional investigation of cell fate and regeneration.However,the similarities in heterogeneity of cell subtypes between SirNeoblasts and X1 remain unknown.Results:In this work,we performed single cell RNA sequencing of SirNeoblasts for comparison with differential expression patterns in a publicly available X1 single cell RNA sequencing data.We found first that all of the lineagespecific progenitor cells in X1 were present in comparable proportions in SirNeoblasts.In addition,SirNeoblasts contain an early muscle progenitor that is unreported in X1.Analysis of new markers for putative pluripotent stem cells identified here,with subsequent sub-clustering analysis,revealed earlier lineages of epidermal,muscular,intestinal,and pharyngeal progenitors than have been observed in X1.Using the gcm as a marker,we also identified a cell subpopulation resided in previously identified tgs-1+neoblasts.Knockdown of gcm impaired the neoblast repopulation,suggesting a function of gcm in neoblasts.Conclusions:In summary,the use of SirNeoblasts will enable broad experimental advances in regeneration and cell fate specification,given the possibility for propagation and transplantation of recombinant and mutagenized pluripotent stem cells that are not previously afforded to this rapid and versatile model system. | Kaimeng Niu Hao Xu Yuanyi Zhou Xiong Yun Zhao Chong Gao Chris WSeidel Xue Pan Yuqing Ying Kai Lei | 2021 | Cell Regeneration2021,10,1: | 0 |

| 11 | Distribution characteristics of photoinitiators and their flux estimation from the Pearl River Delta to the coastal waters of the South China Sea显示文摘Photoinitiators(PIs)are widely used in industrial polymerization processes.It has been reported that PIs are ubiquitous in indoor environments and that humans are exposed to PIs,but the occurrence of PIs in natural environments are rarely known.In the present study,25 PIs,including 9 benzophenones(BZPs),8 amine co-initiators(ACIs),4 thioxanthones(TXs)and 4 phosphine oxides(POs),were analyzed in water and sediment samples collected from eight riverine outlets of the Pearl River Delta(PRD).Eighteen,14,and 14 of the 25 target PIs were detected in water,suspended particulatematter(SPM)and sediment samples,respectively.The total concentrations of PIs in water,SPM,and sediment were in the ranges of 2.88–96.1 ng/L,9.25–923 ng/g dry weight(dw),and 3.79–56.9 ng/g dw,with geometric mean concentration(GM)of 10.8 ng/L,48.6 ng/g dw,and 17.1 ng/g dw,respectively.A significant linear regression was observed between the log partitioning coefficients(Kd)values of PIs and their log octanol water partition coefficient(Kow)values(R^(2)=0.535,p<0.05).The annual riverine input of PIs to the coastal waters of the South China Sea via eightmain outlets of the PRD was estimated to be 4.12×10^(3)kg/year,and the∑BZPs,∑ACIs,∑TXs and∑POs contributed to 1.96×10^(3),1.24×10^(3),89.6 and 830 kg/year,respectively.This is the first report of a systematic description of the occurrence characteristics of PIs exposure in water,SPM,and sediment.The environmental fate and risks of PIs in aquatic environments need further investigations. | Yuqing He Zibin Pan Xinxin Liang Ruiman Xie Yuying Sun Juan Li YaweiWang Lixi Zeng | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,6: | 0 |

| 14 | Performance of novel overhead crane fume-collecting hood for pollutant removal显示文摘In industrial buildings,the presence of overhead cranes severely affects roof exhaust ventilation systems when capturing and discharging fumes,resulting in severe deterioration of the indoor plant environment.In this study,an overhead crane-based ventilation auxiliary device,called overhead crane fume-collecting hood(CFCH),is proposed to guide pollutants blocked by the overhead crane back to the roof exhaust hood.The airflow characteristics and pollutant distribution under the three modes of no overhead crane,overhead crane,and overhead crane+CFCH were compared using numerical simulations.Subsequently,the effects of the CFCH length(a),width(b),and height(h)on the pollutant capture performance were determined through orthogonal experiments and computational fluid dynamics.Finally,the pollutant capture efficiency(PCE)of the optimal CFCH was investigated considering different exhaust airflow rates.The results showed that the pollutants captured by the CFCH can be classified into directly and secondary captured pollutants,with the directly captured pollutants dominating.In addition,with the introduction of different sizes of CFCH around the overhead crane girders,the PCE significantly improved by 49.9%–74.6%.The length,width,and height of the CFCH on the PCE were statistically significant,and the priority of the three factors was as follows:h>b>a.The PCE decreased with increasing a,initially increased and then decreased with increasing b,and increased with h.Subsequently,when the optimal CFCH was used,the excessive exhaust air rate had no evident PCE improvement.This provides a new concept for the control of pollutants in industrial buildings and provides a theoretical basis for the design of CFCHs. | Zhixiang Cao Pan Xiao Yi Wang Yuqing Bai Chen Zhang Tongtong Zhao Chao Zhai Minghao Zhang Songheng Wu | 2023 | Building Simulation2023,16,7: | 0 |

| 18 | Prevalence of Metabolic Obese Normal Weight and Related Risk Factors in South China显示文摘[Objectives]Metabolic obese normal weight(MONW)is becoming one of the pubic problems which are threatening human health.Whereas,MONW was facing a great challenge for limited attention,especially for the female in China.The aim of this research was to estimate the prevalence of MONW and its related risk components in South China.[Methods]A community-based cross-sectional study was performed on 3349 residents aged 18-93 years in The First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University,Guangzhou,China,in 2019.Data was collected by physical examination data which included physical measurements and laboratory examinations.[Results]In all subjects,55%were females(M/F=1509/1840).The prevalence of MONW was 16.09%(0.04%for male,16.05%for female,P<0.001).The prevalence increased significantly with increasing age in both genders(P<0.001).The binary logistic regression analysis shows that among the risk factors with MONW,age,BMI,gender,systolic pressure,hypertension[Male:ORs=2.56,95%CI(1.23,5.32);Female:ORs=2.88,95%CI(1.76,4.71)]and hypertriglyceridemia[Male:ORs=3.23,95%CI(1.67,6.19);Female:ORs=2.57,95%CI(1.64,4.03)]were found to be statistically significant.The level of ALT in MONW group was(27.88±15.85)in male and(24.33±15.75)in female,which were significantly higher than those in the non-MetS group.[Conclusions]The prevalence of MONW was pretty high.We considered MONW be significantly associated with the increase of ALT.Female gender,advanced age,and elevated ALT were independent risk factors for MONW.It was high time that the government should raise the public attention toward metabolic function in normal weight population.Effective prevention and treatment strategies for MONW and its risk factors should be developed targeting different ages and genders. | Xuehua LUO Zien LIANG Yan LI Qingbin WU Zhiqiang PAN Yuqing LIANG Lingyu LI Juanjuan MAI Huijun XIE Li HAN | 2021 | Medicinal Plant2021,12,2: | 0 |
| 19 | Waist circumference cutoff points for Chinese adults with metabolic syndrome defined by the International Diabetes Federation显示文摘Objective To investigate the appropriate waist circumference (WC) cutoff points for central obesity in the middle-aged and elderly Beijing residents by the metabolic syndrome definition of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF). Methods A total of 2,344 Beijing residents aged ≥40 years were investigated. They answered questionnaires, received physical examinations, and underwent plasma glucose and lipid profile measurement. Those non-diabetic subjects underwent a 75g oral glucose tolerance test. All data were analyzed to calculate the appropriate WC cutoff points for central obesity reaching the diagonsis of MS. Results 1) Both in males and females, the triglyceride (TG), systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) increased linearly with WC, and the high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) decreased linearly with WC (P<0.05). 2)The prevalence of elevated TG, reduced HDL-C, elevated blood pressure, elevated FBG, or ≥ 2 of these factors increased with WC (P<0.05). 3) Based on the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis and Youden index, the WC values for central obesity and for detecting BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2 were about 90 cm for men and 80 cm for women. 4) The odds ratio for the presence of two or more metabolic risk factors increased abruptly in men with WC ≥ 90 cm and in women with WC ≥ 80 cm. | 20 | Charge-reversible crosslinked nanoparticle for pro-apoptotic peptide delivery and synergistic photodynamic cancer therapy显示文摘Although anti-cancer nanotherapeutics have made breakthroughs,many remain clinically unsatisfactory due to limited delivery efficiency and complicated biological barriers.Here,we prepared charge-reversible crosslinked nanoparticles(PDC NPs)by supramolecular self-assembly of pro-apoptotic peptides and photosensitizers,followed by crosslinking the self-assemblies with polyethylene glycol to impart tumor microenvironment responsiveness and charge-reversibility.The resultant PDC NPs have a high drug loading of 68.3%,substantially exceeding that of 10%–15%in conventional drug delivery systems.PDC NPs can overcome the delivery hurdles to significantly improve the tumor accumulation and endocytosis of payloads by surface charge reversal and responsive crosslinking strategy.Pro-apoptotic peptides target the mitochondrial membranes and block the respiratory effect to reduce local oxygen consumption,which extensively augments oxygen-dependent photodynamic therapy(PDT).The photosensitizers around mitochondria increased along with the peptides,allowing PDT to work with pro-apoptotic peptides synergistically to induce tumor cell death by mitochondria-dependent apoptotic pathways.Our strategy would provide a valuable reference for improving the delivery efficiency of hydrophilic peptides and developing mitochondrial-targeting cancer therapies. | Haijing Qu Han Chen Wei Cheng Yuqing Pan Zhiran Duan Yanjun Wang Xing-Jie Liang Xiangdong Xue | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,12: | 0 |
