1MOF-derived Co-MOF,O-doped carbon as trifunctional electrocatalysts to enable highly efficient Zn-air batteries and water-splitting显示文摘Development of high-efficiency non-noble electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is urgently needed for high-performance Zn-air batteries and overall water splitting.Here,a facile strategy to synthesize novel Co-MOF,O-doped carbon(Co-MOF-T)based on Zn,Co-doped glucosamine and ZIF-8 by pyrolysis at temperature T was demonstrated.The prepared Co-MOF-800 showed a superior oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)activity comparable to that of commercial Pt/C catalyst.In addition,this catalyst shows great potential in the overall water splitting due to the excellent oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)activities.Based on the trifunctional activity,the primary Zn-air batteries using a Co-MOF-800 air electrode achieved a high open-circuit voltage of 1.38 V,a specific capacity of 671.6 mAh g^(-1) Zn,and a prominent peak power density of 144 mW cm^(-2).Also,the rechargeable Zn-air batteries based on CoMOF-800 air electrode could be smoothly run for 510 cycles with a low voltage gap of 0.58 V.Finally,the trifunctional Co-MOF-800 catalyst was applied to boost the electrochemical water splitting,demonstrating its promising potential as a green energy material for practical applications.Xinde Duan Na Pan Can Sun Kexin Zhang Xukun Zhu Mingdao Zhang Li Song Hegen Zheng 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5:5

4Diagnostic and economic value of carcinoembryonic antigen,carbohydrate antigen 19-9,and carbohydrate antigen 72-4 in gastrointestinal cancers显示文摘BACKGROUND The diagnostic and economic value of carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9)and CA72-4 for gastrointestinal malignant tumors lacked evaluation in a larger scale.AIM To reassess the diagnostic and economic value of the three tumor biomarkers.METHODS A retrospective analysis of all 32857 subjects who underwent CEA,CA19-9,CA72-4,gastroscopy and colonoscopy from October 2006 to May 2018 was conducted.Then,we assessed the discrimination and clinical usefulness.Total cost,cost per capita and cost-effectiveness ratios were used to evaluate the economic value of two schemes(gastrointestinal endoscopy for all people without blood tests vs both gastroscopy and colonoscopy when blood tests were positive).RESULTS The analysis of 32857 subjects showed that CEA was a qualified biomarker for colorectal cancer(CRC),while the diagnostic efficiencies of CA72-4 were catastrophic for all gastrointestinal cancers(GICs).Regarding early diagnosis,only CEA could be used for early CRC.The combination of biomarkers didn’t greatly increase the area under the curve.The economic indicators of CEA were superior to those of CA19-9,CA72-4 and any combination.At the threshold of 1.8μg/L to 10.4μg/L,all four indicators of CEA were lower than those in the scheme that conducted gastrointestinal endoscopy only.Subgroup analysis implied that the health checkup of CEA for people above 65 years old was economically valuable.CONCLUSION CEA had qualified diagnostic value for CRC and superior economic value for GICs,especially for elderly health checkup subjects.CA72-4 was not suitable as a diagnostic biomarker.Hai-Ning Liu Can Yao Xiao-Fan Wang Ning-Ping Zhang Yan-Jie Chen Dong Pan Guo-Ping Zhao Xi-Zhong Shen Hao Wu Tao-Tao Liu 2023World Journal of Gastroenterology2023,29,4:2

6Optimal readout of superconducting qubits exploiting high-level states显示文摘High-fidelity initialization,manipulation,and measurement of qubits are important in quantum computing.For the Google’s Sycamore processor,the gate fidelity of single-and two-qubit logic operations has improved to>99.6%,whereas single-shot measurement fidelity remains at the level of 97%,which severely limits the ap-plication of the superconducting approach to large-scale quantum computing.The current measurement scheme relies on the dispersive interaction between the qubit and the readout resonator,which was proposed back in 2004.However,the measurement fidelity is limited by the trade-offbetween the state separation and relax-ation time of the two-level system.Recently,an exciting phenomenon was observed experimentally,wherein the separation-decay limit could be alleviated by exploiting the cascade decay nature of the higher levels;however,the mechanism and effectiveness of this phenomenon are still unclear.Herein,we present a theoretical tool to extract different types of errors in high-level states encoding dispersive measurement.For the realistic parame-ters of Google’s Sycamore processor,the use of state|2>is sufficient to suppress 92%of the decay readout error on average,where the total readout error is dominated by the background thermal excitation.We also show counter-intuitively that,the assistance of high-level states is effective in the measurement of logic 0,where there is no decay process.Can Wang Ming-Cheng Chen Chao-Yang Lu Jian-Wei Pan 2021Fundamental Research2021,1,1:1
7A review of crosstalk research for plasmonic waveguides显示文摘Plasmonic waveguides,as a competitive candidate,have been widely studied in rapid developing photonic integrated circuits(PICs)and optical interconnection fields.However,crosstalk between plasmonic waveguides is a critical issue that has to be considered in practice.Actually,crosstalk dominates the ultimate integration density of the planar photonic circuits.This paper reviews the recent research work on evaluation methods and crosstalk suppression approaches of plasmonic waveguides.Three crosstalk evaluation methods based on comparison of specific parameters of waveguides have been summarized.Furthermore,four specific approaches to reduce crosstalk have been illustrated as two categories according to their impacts on waveguide performances and the whole circuit.One means of crosstalk suppression is changing the placement of waveguides,which could maintain the transmission characteristics of the original waveguide.The other means is inserting medium,which has the advantage of occupying smaller space compared to the first method.Consequently,to suppress crosstalk between plasmonic waveguides,one should choose suitable approach.Junxian Ma Dezheng Zeng Yatao Yang Can Pan Li Zhang Haidong Xu 2019Opto-Electronic Advances2019,2,4:1
8Sex and Death:Identification of Feedback Neuromodulation Balancing Reproduction and Survival显示文摘Some semelparous organisms in nature mate as many times as they can in a single reproductive episode before death,while most iteroparous species including humans avoid such suicidal reproductive behavior.Animals naturally pursue more sex and the possible fatal consequence of excessive sex must be orchestrated by negative feedback signals in iteroparous species,yet very little is known about the regulatory mechanisms.Here we used Drosophila male sexual behavior as a model system to study how excessive sex may kill males and how the nervous system reacts to prevent death by sex.We found that continuous sexual activity by activating the fruitlessexpressing neurons induced a fixed multi-step behavioral pattern ending with male death.We further found negative feedback in the fly brain to prevent suicidal sexual behavior by expression changes of the neurotransmitters acetylcholine and gamma-aminobutyric acid,and neuropeptide F.These findings are crucial to understand the molecular underpinnings of how different organisms choose reproductive strategies and balance reproduction and survival.Can Gao Chao Guo Qionglin Peng Jie Cao Galit Shohat-Ophir Dong Liu Yufeng Pan 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,12:1
9Fast-Tracker 2.0:Improving autonomy of aerial tracking with active vision and human location regression显示文摘In recent years,several progressive studies promote the development of aerial tracking.One of the representative studies is our previous work Fast-Tracker which is applicable to various challenging tracking scenarios.However,it suffers from two main drawbacks:(1)the oversimplification in target detection by using artificial markers and(2)the contradiction between simultaneous target and environment perception with limited onboard vision.In this study,we upgrade the target detection in Fast-Tracker to detect and localise a human target based on deep learning and non-linear regression to solve the former problem.For the latter one,we equip the quadrotor system with 360°active vision on a customised gimbal camera.Furthermore,we improve the tracking trajectory planning in Fast-Tracker by incorporating an occlusion-aware mechanism that generates observable tracking trajectories.Comprehensive real-world tests confirm the proposed system's robustness and real-time capability.Benchmark comparisons with Fast-Tracker validate that the proposed system presents better tracking performance even when performing more difficult tracking tasks.Neng Pan Ruibin Zhang Tiankai Yang Can Cui Chao Xu Fei Gao 2021IET Cyber-Systems and Robotics2021,3,4:1

11MR Lymphangiography for Focal Disruption of the Thoracic Duct in Chylothorax of an Infant: a Case Report and Literature Review显示文摘Chylothorax is a rare cause of pleural effusion in children, and it is usually difficult to identify the location of chyle leakage due to the small size of the thoracic duct in children. 12Bio-clickable mussel-inspired peptides improve titanium-based material osseointegration synergistically with immunopolarization-regulation显示文摘Upon the osteoporotic condition,sluggish osteogenesis,excessive bone resorption,and chronic inflammation make the osseointegration of bioinert titanium(Ti)implants with surrounding bone tissues difficult,often lead to prosthesis loosening,bone collapse,and implant failure.In this study,we firstly designed clickable mussel-inspired peptides(DOPA-N3)and grafted them onto the surfaces of Ti materials through robust catechol-TiO2 coordinative interactions.Then,two dibenzylcyclooctyne(DBCO)-capped bioactive peptides RGD and BMP-2 bioactive domain(BMP-2)were clicked onto the DOPA-N3-coated Ti material surfaces via bio-orthogonal reaction.We characterized the surface morphology and biocompatibility of the Ti substrates and optimized the osteogenic capacity of Ti surfaces through adjusting the ideal ratios of BMP-2/RGD at 3:1.In vitro,the dual-functionalized Ti substrates exhibited excellent promotion on adhesion and osteogenesis of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),and conspicuous immunopolarization-regulation to shift macrophages to alternative(M2)phenotypes and inhibit inflammation,as well as enhancement of osseointegration and mechanical stability in osteoporotic rats.In summary,our biomimetic surface modification strategy by bio-orthogonal reaction provided a convenient and feasible method to resolve the bioinertia and clinical complications of Ti-based implants,which was conducive to the long-term success of Ti implants,especially in the osteoporotic or inflammatory conditions.Jie Sun Yingkang Huang Huan Zhao Junjie Niu Xuwei Ling Can Zhu Lin Wang Huilin Yang Zhilu Yang Guoqing Pan Qin Shi 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,3:0
13Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND 15Nano-TiO_(2) coate d nee dle carbon fib er reinforced phenolic aerogel composite with low density, excellent heat-insulating and infrared radiation shielding performance显示文摘High-performance thermal protection materials(TPMs)for spacecraft are becoming current research hotspots.Lightweight polymer-based ablators are considered to be the most promising candidates for TPMs due to their excellent designability and versatility.In this study,a unique nano-TiO_(2) coated needled carbon fiber felt/phenolic resin aerogel composite(TiCF/PR)is reported.Wherein the anatase nano-TiO_(2) was in-situ coated on the surface of carbon fibers uniformly through the sol-gel and calcination method,then,the phenolic resin aerogel was in-situ synthesized in the nano-TiO_(2) coated needled carbon fiber felt(TiCF)preform through vacuum impregnation and solvothermal method.The as-prepared aerogel com-posite possesses a low density(0.30–0.32 g/cm^(3)),low thermal conductivity(0.034 and 0.312 W/(m K)in the z and xy directions),and excellent thermal stability with 13.86%residual weight at 1300℃ in air.It is worthwhile to note that the TiCF/PR composite exhibits excellent antioxidant ablation and infrared(IR)radiation shielding properties in a high-temperature heating environment.With an oxygen-acetylene blaze heating of 1.5 MW/m^(2) for 150 s,the linear ablation rates decreased by 13.4%,and the backside temperature reduced from 322.3 to 179.1℃ compared to that of the sample without nano-TiO_(2) coating.The experimental and theoretical analysis showed that the present TiCF/PR nanocomposite has competitive and potential application prospects in the field of future TPMs.Yiwu Pan Xiangyu Jin Hebing Wang He Huang Can Wu Xiaojie Yan Changqing Hong Xinghong Zhang 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,21:0

17Genome-wide association with transcriptomics reveals a shade-tolerance gene network in soybean显示文摘Shade tolerance is essential for soybeans in inter/relay cropping systems.A genome-wide association study(GWAS)integrated with transcriptome sequencing was performed to identify genes and construct a genetic network governing the trait in a set of recombinant inbred lines derived from two soybean parents with contrasting shade tolerance.An improved GWAS procedure,restricted two-stage multi-locus genome-wide association study based on gene/allele sequence markers(GASM-RTM-GWAS),identified 140 genes and their alleles associated with shade-tolerance index(STI),146 with relative pith cell length(RCL),and nine with both.Annotation of these genes by biological categories allowed the construction of a protein–protein interaction network by 187 genes,of which half were differentially expressed under shading and non-shading conditions as well as at different growth stages.From the identified genes,three ones jointly identified for both traits by both GWAS and transcriptome and two genes with maximum links were chosen as beginners for entrance into the network.Altogether,both STI and RCL gene systems worked for shade-tolerance with genes interacted each other,this confirmed that shadetolerance is regulated by more than single group of interacted genes,involving multiple biological functions as a gene network.Yanzhu Su Xiaoshuai Hao Weiying Zeng Zhenguang Lai Yongpeng Pan Can Wang Pengfei Guo Zhipeng Zhang Jianbo He Guangnan Xing Wubin Wang Jiaoping Zhang Zudong Sun Junyi Gai 2024The Crop Journal2024,12,1:0
18An Ultra-Compact Broadband Polarizing Beam Splitter Utilizing Hybrid Plasmonic Waveguide显示文摘Polarizing beam splitter has rather significant applications in polarization diversity circuits and polarization multiplexing systems.In this paper,we present an asymmetric polarizing beam splitter utilizing hybrid plasmonic waveguide.The special hybrid structure with a hybrid waveguide and a dielectric waveguide can limit the energy of TE and TM modes to a different layer.Therefore,we can achieve beam splitting by adjusting the corresponding parameters of the two waveguides.First,we studied the influences of different structure parameters on the real part of the effective mode refractive index of the two waveguides,and obtained a set of parameters that satisfy the condition of strong coupling of TM mode and weak coupling of TE mode.Then,the performance of our proposed polarizing beam splitter is evaluated numerically.The length of the coupling section is only 4.1μm,and the propagation loss of TM and TE modes is 0.0025 d B/μm and 0.0031 d B/μm respectively.Additionally,the extinction ratios of TM and TE modes are 10.62 d B and 12.55 d B,respectively.Particularly,the proposed device has excellent wavelength insensitivity.Over the entire C-band,the fluctuation of the whole normalized output power is less than 0.03.In short,our proposed asymmetric polarizing beam splitter features ultra-compactness,low propagation loss,and broad bandwidth,which would provide promising applications in polarization multiplexing system and polarization diversity circuits relevant to optical interconnection.Li Zhang Jiaqi Liu Can Pan Yatao Yang 2023China Communications2023,20,6:0
