| 1 | 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). | 5 | Effect of six kinds of scale inhibitors on calcium carbonate precipitation in high salinity wastewater at high temperatures显示文摘Precipitation of calcium carbonate(Ca CO3) scale on heat transfer surfaces is a serious and expensive problem widely occurring in numerous industrial processes. In this study, we compared the scale inhibition effect of six kinds of commercial scale inhibitors and screened out the best one(scale inhibitor SQ-1211) to investigate its scale inhibition performance in highly saline conditions at high temperature through static scale inhibition tests. The influences of scale inhibitor dosage, temperature, heating time and p H on the inhibition efficiency of the optimal scale inhibitor were investigated. The morphologies and crystal structures of the precipitates were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-ray Diffraction analysis. Results showed that the scale inhibition efficiency of the optimal scale inhibitor decreased with the increase of the reaction temperature. When the concentration of Ca2+was 1600 mg/L, the scale inhibition rate could reach 90.7% at 80°C at p H 8. The optimal scale inhibitor could effectively retard scaling at high temperature. | 6 | Generation of Cenozoic intraplate basalts in the big mantle wedge under eastern Asia显示文摘The roles of subduction of the Pacific plate and the big mantle wedge(BMW) in the evolution of east Asian continental margin have attracted lots of attention in past years. This paper reviews recent progresses regarding the composition and chemical heterogeneity of the BMW beneath eastern Asia and geochemistry of Cenozoic basalts in the region, with attempts to put forward a general model accounting for the generation of intraplate magma in a BMW system. Some key points of this review are summarized in the following.(1) Cenozoic basalts from eastern China are interpreted as a mixture of high-Si melts and low-Si melts. Wherever they are from, northeast, north or south China, Cenozoic basalts share a common low-Si basalt endmember, which is characterized by high alkali, Fe_2O_3~T and TiO_2 contents, HIMU-like trace element composition and relatively low ^(206)Pb/^(204)Pb compared to classic HIMU basalts. Their Nd-Hf isotopic compositions resemble that of Pacific Mantle domain and their source is composed of carbonated eclogites and peridotites. The high-Si basalt endmember is characterized by low alkali, Fe_2O_3~T and TiO_2 contents, Indian Mantle-type Pb-Nd-Hf isotopic compositions, and a predominant garnet pyroxenitic source. High-Si basalts show isotopic provinciality, with those from North China and South China displaying EM1-type and EM2-type components, respectively, while basalts from Northeast China containing both EM1-and EM2-type components.(2) The source of Cenozoic basalts from eastern China contains abundant recycled materials, including oceanic crust and lithospheric mantle components as well as carbonate sediments and water. According to their spatial distribution and deep seismic tomography, it is inferred that the recycled components are mostly from stagnant slabs in the mantle transition zone,whereas EM1 and EM2 components are from the shallow mantle.(3) Comparison of solidi of garnet pyroxenite, carbonated eclogite and peridotite with regional geotherm constrains the initial melting depth of high-Si and low-Si basalts at <100 km and^300 km, respectively. It is suggested that the BMW under eastern Asia is vertically heterogeneous, with the upper part containing EM1 and EM2 components and isotopically resembling the Indian mantle domain, whereas the lower part containing components derived from the Pacific mantle domain. | 7 | Myeloid-specific targeting of Notch ameliorates murine renal fibrosis via reduced infiltration and activation of bone marrowderived macrophage显示文摘Macrophages play critical roles in renal fibrosis.However,macrophages exhibit ontogenic and functional heterogeneities,and which population of macrophages contributes to renal fibrosis and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.In this study,we genetically targeted Notch signaling by disrupting the transcription factor recombination signal binding protein-JK(RBP-J),to reveal its role in regulation of macrophages during the unilateral ureteral obstruction(UUO)-induced murine renal fibrosis.Myeloid-specific disruption of RBP-J attenuated renal fibrosis with reduced extracellular matrix deposition and myofibroblast activation,as well as attenuated epithelial-mesenchymal transition,likely owing to the reduced expression of TGF-β.Mean while,RBP-J deletion significantly hampered macrophage infiltration and activation in fibrotic kidney,although their proliferation appeared unaltered.By using macrophage clearance experiment,we found that kidney resident macrophages made negligible contribution,but bone marrow(BM)-derived macrophages played a major role in renal fibrogenesis.Further mechanistic analyses showed that Notch blockade reduced monocyte emigration from BM by down-regulating CCR2 expression.Finally,we found that myeloid-specific Notch activation aggravated renal fibrosis,which was mediated by CCR2^+macrophages infiltration.In summary,our data have unveiled that myeloid-specific targeting of Notch could ameliorate renal fibrosis by regulating BM-derived macrophages recruitment and activation,providing a novel strategy for intervention of this disease. | Yali Jiang Yuanyuan Wang Pengfei Ma Dongjie An Junlong Zhao Shiqian Liang Yuchen Ye Yingying Lu Peng Zhang Xiaowei Liu Hua Han Hongyan Qin | 2019 | Protein & Cell2019,10,3: | 10 |

| 10 | Vaterite or aragonite observed in the prismatic layer of freshwater-cultured pearls from South China显示文摘A prismatic layer is present in both freshwater-cultured pearls and seawater-cultured pearls. The phase structure of the prismatic layer of freshwater-cultured pearls is investigated for the first time and novel findings are reported in this paper. X-ray diffraction (XRD), optical microscopy (OM) and micro-infrared (IR) spectroscopy were used to characterize the crystallized layers of high and low-quality freshwater-cultured pearls. Results show that there is no calcite in the prismatic layer of freshwater-cultured pearls, which is different from what was found for seawater-cultured pearls. We found that an aragonite phase was present in the prismatic layer of high-quality freshwater-cultured pearls and that a vaterite or aragonite phase was present in low-quality pearls. | 11 | Optical observations of LIGO source GW 170817 by the Antarctic Survey Telescopes at Dome A,Antarctica显示文摘The LIGO detection of gravitational waves(GW) from merging black holes in 2015 marked the beginning of a new era in observational astronomy. The detection of an electromagnetic signal from a GW source is the critical next step to explore in detail the physics involved. The Antarctic Survey Telescopes(AST3),located at Dome A, Antarctica, is uniquely situated for rapid response time-domain astronomy with its continuous night-time coverage during the austral winter. We report optical observations of the GW source(GW 170817) in the nearby galaxy NGC 4993 using AST3. The data show a rapidly fading transient at around 1 day after the GW trigger, with the i-band magnitude declining from 17:23 ± 0:13 magnitude to 17:72 ± 0:09 magnitude in ~1:8 h. The brightness and time evolution of the optical transient associated with GW 170817 are broadly consistent with the predictions of models involving merging binary neutron stars. | 12 | IGHG1 promotes motility likely through epithelial-mesenchymal transition in ovarian cancer显示文摘Objective: Ovarian cancer(OC) is one of the leading causes of death for female cancer patients. COC166-9 is an OC-specific monoclonal antibody and we have identified immunoglobulin γ-1 heavy chain constant region(IGHG1) as its antigen. We explore the function of IGHG1 in proliferation, apoptosis and motility of OC cells further in this research.Methods: IGHG1 expression in OC specimens was detected through immunohistochemistry. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-q PCR) or western blotting assay was used to test IGHG1 expression in OC cells. Viability of OC cells was tested by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT)assay. Flow cytometry or western blotting assay was used to detect cell cycle and apoptosis. Cellular motility was analyzed by using transwell assay and the markers of epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT) were tested through immunoblots.Results: Although it exerts negligible effect on the viability and apoptosis of OC cells, IGHG1 could promote migration and invasion of malignant cells in vitro. Mechanistically, IGHG1 increases the expression of N-cadherin and Vimentin while decreases E-cadherin expression. Additionally, IGHG1 expression in OC specimens is higher relative to the paired normal counterparts. Further analysis demonstrates that the increased IGHG1 expression correlates positively with the lymph node metastasis of OC.Conclusions: IGHG1 promotes the motility of OC cells likely through executing the EMT program. | 13 | Novel synthesis of fly-ash-derived Cu-loaded SAPO-34 catalysts and their use in selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3显示文摘A combined acid–alkali hydrothermal method was used to prepare fly ash–derived SAPO-34 molecular sieves from a thermal power plant in Inner Mongolia(China).The specific surface area of the prepared fly-ash-derived SAPO-34 molecular sieves was 579 m^2 g^-1,the total pore volume was about 0.27 cm^3 g^-1,and the pore size was 0.56 nm;the molar ratios of Al2O3:P2O5:SiO2 were 1:0.86:0.45.Cu/SAPO-34 catalysts were prepared by impregnation of low-cost fly-ash-derived SAPO-34 molecular sieves as a support and tested in selective catalytic reduction with NH3(NH3-SCR).Powder X-ray diffraction(XRD),N2 adsorption–desorption,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),H2 temperatureprogrammed reduction(H2-TPR),NH3 temperature-programmed desorption(NH3-TPD),electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR),nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),X-ray fluorescence analysis(XRF)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)were used for catalyst characterization and investigation of the relationships between the catalyst structure and the catalytic activity.The actual silica:alumina ratio of the molecular sieves did not increase with increasing Cu loading,indicating that increasing the Cu loading does not change the original structure of the SAPO-34 molecular sieves.The XRF and NMR results showed that replacement by Cu results in more Si islands.The molecular sieve acidity decreased because of the increased number of Si islands.The NH3-TPD results showed that for the Cu/SAPO-34 catalysts there was a low correlation between the low-temperature activity and the amount of acidic sites.SCR activity is closely related to the location of Cu.The 4.47 Cu/SAPO-34 catalyst has the highest isolated Cu2+showed the highest NH3-SCR activities(>90%)at 250–350℃.This work opens up new avenues for recycling fly ash formed in coal-fired power plants(reducing environmental pollution)and developing low-cost SCR catalysts for NOx pollution control. | Ge Li Baodong Wang Qi Sun Wayne Qiang Xu Ziran Ma Hongyan Wang Daojun Zhang Jiali Zhou | 2019 | Green Energy & Environment2019,4,4: | 6 |

| 16 | Promoter methylation of Wnt/β-Catenin signal inhibitor TMEM88 is associated with unfavorable prognosis of nonsmall cell lung cancer显示文摘Objective:Recent research has indicated that altered promoter methylation of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes is an important mechanism in lung cancer development and progression.In this study,we investigated the association between promoter methylation of TMEM88,a possible inhibitor of the Wnt/β-Catenin signaling,and the survival of patients with nonsmall cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:Twelve pairs of tumor and adjacent non-tumor samples were used for microarray analyses of DNA methylation and gene expression.For validation,more than two hundred additional samples were analyzed for methylation using bisulfite pyrosequencing and for gene expression using q RT-PCR.Then the cell function were tested by wound healing,transwell,CCK8 and cell cycle assay.Results:Our analysis of patient specimens showed that TMEM88 methylation was higher in NSCLC tumors(82.2%±10.3,P<0.01)compared with the adjacent normal tissues(65.9%±7.2).The survival analysis revealed that patients with high TMEM88methylation had a shorter overall survival(46 months)compared with patients with low TMEM88 methylation(>56 months;P=0.021).In addition,we found that demethylation treatment could inhibit tumor cell proliferation,migration,and invasion,which was supportive of an association between methylation and survival.Conclusions:Based on these consistent observations,we concluded that TMEM88 may play an important role in NSCLC progression and that promoter methylation of TMEM88 may serve as a biomarker for NSCLC prognosis and treatment. | Rongna Ma Nannan Feng Xiao Yu Hongyan Lin Xiaohong Zhang Oumin Shi Huan Zhang Shuo Zhang Lei Li Min Zheng Ming Gao Herbert Yu Biyun Qian | 2017 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2017,14,4: | 6 |

| 18 | Regulation of mitochondrial NAD pool via NAD^+ transporter 2 is essential for matrix NADH homeostasis and ROS production in Arabidopsis显示文摘Reactive oxygen species(ROS) play a crucial role in numerous biological processes in plants, including development, responses to environmental stimuli, and programmed cell death(PCD). Deficiency in MOSAIC DEATH 1(MOD1), a plastid-localized enoyl-ACP reductase essential for de novo fatty acid biosynthesis in Arabidopsis thaliana, leads to the increased malate export from chloroplasts to mitochondria, and the subsequent accumulation of mitochondria-generated ROS and PCD. In this study, we report the identification and characterization of a mod1 suppressor, som592. SOM592 encodes mitochondrion-localized NAD^+ transporter 2(NDT2). We show that the mitochondrial NAD pool is elevated in the mod1 mutant. The som592 mutation fully suppressed mitochondrial NADH hyper-accumulation, ROS production, and PCD in the mod1 mutant, indicating a causal relationship between mitochondrial NAD accumulation and ROS/PCD phenotypes. We also show that in wild-type plants, the mitochondrial NAD+uptake is involved in the regulation of ROS production in response to continuous photoperiod. Elevation of the alternative respiration pathway can suppress ROS accumulation and PCD in mod1, but leads to growth restriction. | 19 | Characteristics of blood glucose excursions in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with three different Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore the characteristics of blood glucose excursions of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with three different Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) syndromes.METHODS:One hundred and nine patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were recruited from the Department of Endocrinology and the Department of TCM of the Sixth People's Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University.Subjects were divided into three groups according to TCM syndrome:intrinsic Damp(n- 42),Yin deficiency and internal Heat(n = 25),and Qi and Yin deficiency(n- 42).Subcutaneous interstitial glucose was monitored with a continuous glucose monitoring system for 3consecutive days to investigate the glycemic profile in each group.Plasma C-peptide levels were measured,and an arginine test was taken in 10 patients randomly selected from each group.Glucose data and glycemic variability were analyzed to investigate the differences among the groups.The change in C-peptide levels and the results from arginine trial were used to evaluate β cell function.RESULTS:Indicators reflecting blood glucose level were the highest in subjects with Yin deficiency and internal Heat syndrome,and parameters reflecting glycemic variability were the lowest in those with Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome.The change in C-peptide levels showed that subjects with Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome had the best βcell function among the three groups;this was confirmed by the arginine trial.CONCLUSION:Patients with Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome had a more stable blood glucose profile,as glycemic variability was higher in those with intrinsic Damp syndrome and those with Yin deficiency and internal Heat syndrome. | Zhang Hongyan Zhou Jian Zhang Lei Ma Jianhui Sun Yongning Zhao Yuwu | 2015 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,5: | 4 |
| 20 | Dendrocalamus latiflorus and its component rutin exhibit glucose-lowering activities by inhibiting hepatic glucose production via AKT activation显示文摘The potential medicinal value of Ma bamboo(Dendrocalamus latiflorus), one of the most popular and economically important bamboo species in China, has been underestimated. In the present study, we found that D. latiflorus leaf extract(DLE) reduced fasting blood glucose levels, body weight,and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol with low liver toxicity in db/db mice. In addition, gene expression profiling was performed and pathway enrichment analysis showed that DLE affected metabolic pathways.Importantly, DLE activated the AKT signaling pathway and reduced glucose production by downregulating glucose-6-phosphatase(G6 PC) and phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase 1(PCK1) expression. Moreover, network pharmacology analysis identified rutin as an active component in DLE through targeting insulin growth factor 1 receptor(IGF1 R), an upstream signaling transducer of AKT.
