1Portosplenomesenteric vein thrombosis in patients with early-stage severe acute pancreatitis显示文摘AIM To investigate the incidence and risk factors of portosplenomesenteric vein thrombosis(PSMVT) in the early stage of severe acute pancreatitis(SAP).METHODS Patients with SAP in a tertiary care setting from January 2014 to December 2016 were retrospectively reviewed. All contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT) studies were reassessed and reviewed. Clinical outcome measures were compared between SAP patients with and without PSMVT in the early stage of the disease. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were sequentially performed to assess potential risk factors for the development of PSMVT in SAP patients. A receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was generated for the qualifying independent risk factors.RESULTS Twenty-five of the one hundred and forty(17.86%) SAP patients developed PSMVT 6.19 ± 2.43 d after acute pancreatitis(AP) onset. PSMVT was confirmed by contrast-enhanced CT. Multivariate stepwise logistic regression analyses showed that Balthazar's CT severity index(CTSI) scores [odds ratio(OR): 2.742; 95% confidence interval(CI): 1.664-4.519; P = 0.000], hypoalbuminemia(serum albumin level < 25 g/L)(OR: 32.573; 95%CI: 2.711-391.353; P = 0.006) and gastrointestinal wall thickening(OR: 4.367, 95%CI: 1.218-15.658; P = 0.024) were independent risk factors for PSMVT developed in patients with SAP. 6On-orbit Geometric Calibration of Linear Push-broom Optical Satellite Based on Sparse GCPs显示文摘The paper presents a geometric calibration method based on the sparse ground control points (GCPs), aiming to the linear push-broom optical satellite. This method can achieve the optimal estimate of internal and external parameters with two overlapped image pair along the charge-coupled device (CCD), and sparse GCPs in the image region, further get rid of the dependence on the expensive calibration site data. With the calibrated parameters, the line of sight (LOS) of all CCD detectors can be recovered. This paper firstly establishes the rigorous imaging model of linear push-broom optical satellite based on its imaging mechanism. And then the calibration model is constructed by improving the internal sensor model with a viewing-angle model after an analysis on systematic errors existing in the imaging model is performed. A step-wise solution is applied aiming to the optimal estimate of external and internal parameters. 7Nitrous oxide emissions following seasonal freeze-thaw events from arable soils in Northeast China显示文摘Seasonal soil freeze-thaw events may enhance soil nitrogen transformation and thus stimulate nitrous oxide(N_2O)emissions in cold regions.However,the mechanisms of soil N_2O emission during the freeze-thaw cycling in the field remain unclear.We evaluated N_2O emissions and soil biotic and abiotic factors in maize and paddy fields over 20 months in Northeast China,and the structural equation model(SEM)was used to determine which factors affected N_2O production during non-growing season.Our results verified that the seasonal freeze-thaw cycles mitigated the available soil nitrogen and carbon limitation during spring thawing period,but simultaneously increased the gaseous N_2O-N losses at the annual time scale under field condition.The N_2O-N cumulative losses during the non-growing season amounted to 0.71 and 0.55 kg N ha^(–1) for the paddy and maize fields,respectively,and contributed to 66 and 18%of the annual total.The highest emission rates(199.2–257.4μg m^(–2) h^(–1))were observed during soil thawing for both fields,but we did not observe an emission peak during soil freezing in early winter.Although the pulses of N_2O emission in spring were short-lived(18 d),it resulted in approximately80%of the non-growing season N_2O-N loss.The N_2O burst during the spring thawing was triggered by the combined impact of high soil moisture,flush available nitrogen and carbon,and rapid recovery of microbial biomass.SEM analysis indicated that the soil moisture,available substrates including NH_4^+and dissolved organic carbon(DOC),and microbial biomass nitrogen(MBN)explained 32,36,16 and 51%of the N_2O flux variation,respectively,during the non-growing season.Our results suggested that N_2O emission during the spring thawing make a vital contribution of the annual nitrogen budget,and the vast seasonally frozen and snow-covered croplands will have high potential to exert a positive feedback on climate change considering the sensitive response of nitrogen biogeochemical cycling to the freeze-thaw disturbance.CHEN Zhe YANG Shi-qi ZHANG Ai-ping JING Xin SONG Wei-min MI Zhao-rong ZHANG Qing-wen WANG Wen-ying YANG Zheng-li 2018Journal of Integrative Agriculture2018,17,1:8
8Efficacy of a Chinese herbal formula on hepatitis B e antigenpositive chronic hepatitis B patients显示文摘BACKGROUND No guideline recommends antiviral therapy for hepatitis B e antigen(HBeAg)-positive chronic hepatitis B patients with persistently normal alanine aminotransferase levels and a high hepatitis B virus(HBV)DNA viral load.AIM To evaluate the feasibility and safety of a Chinese herbal formula as a therapeutic option for chronic HBV infection.METHODS In total,395 patients(30–65 years old)with confirmed HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B infection and persistently normal alanine aminotransferase were randomized to receive either Chinese herbal formula or placebo for 96 wk.Endpoints to evaluate therapeutic efficacy included:(1)HBV DNA levels decreased to less than 4 log10 IU/mL at weeks 48 and 96;and(2)HBeAg clearance and seroconversion rates at weeks 48 and 96.RESULTS HBV DNA levels≤4 log10 IU/mL were 10.05%at week 48 and 18.59%at week 96 in the treatment group.The HBeAg clearance and conversion rates were 8.54%and 8.04%at week 48 and 16.08%and 14.57%at week 96,respectively.However,HBV DNA levels≤4 log10 IU/mL were 2.55%and 2.55%at weeks 48 and 96,respectively,and the HBeAg clearance rates were 3.06%and 5.61%at weeks 48 and 96,respectively,in the control group.The quantitative hepatitis B surface antigen and HBeAg levels at baseline and changes during the treatment period as well as the alanine aminotransferase elevation at weeks 12 and 24 were strong predictors of HBeAg clearance.CONCLUSION High rates of HBV DNA reduction,HBeAg clearance and seroconversion could be achieved with Chinese herbal formula treatments,and the treatments were relatively safe for HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B-infected patients with persistently normal alanine aminotransferase.The ability of the compound to modulate host immune function probably contributed to this effect.Yu-Feng Xing Chun-Shan Wei Tian-Ran Zhou Dan-Ping Huang Wei-Chao Zhong Bin Chen Hua Jin Xiao-Yu Hu Zhi-Yun Yang Qing He Kai-Ping Jiang Jun-Min Jiang Zhen-Bin Hu Xin Deng Fan Yang Feng-Yi Li Gang Zhao Li-Chun Wang Yu-Qiang Mi Zuo-Jiong Gong Peng Guo Jian-Hua Wu Wei-Qun Shi Hong-Zhi Yang Da-Qiao Zhou Guang-Dong Tong 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,30:7
9Establishing an experimental rat model of photo-dynamically-induced retinal vein occlusion using erythrosin B显示文摘AIM:To develop a reliable,reproducible rat model of retinal vein occlusion(RVO)with a novel photosensitizer(erythrosin B)and study the cellular responses in the retina.METHODS:Central and branch RVOs were created in adult male rats via photochemically-induced ischemia.Retinal changes were monitored via color fundus photography and fluorescein angiography at 1 and 3h,and 1,4,7,14,and 21d after irradiation.Tissue slices were evaluated histopathologically.Retinal ganglion cell survival at different times after RVO induction was quantified by nuclear density count.Retinal thickness was also observed.RESULTS:For all rats in both the central and branch RVO groups,blood flow ceased immediately after laser irradiation and retinal edema was evident at one hour.The retinal detachment rate was 100%at 3h and developed into bullous retinal detachment within 24h.Retinal hemorrhages were not observed until 24h.Clearance of the occluded veins at 7d was observed by fluorescein angiography.Disease manifestation in the central RVO eyes was more severe than in the branch RVO group.A remarkable reduction in the ganglion cell count and retinal thickness was observed in the central RVO group by 21d,whereas moderate changes occurred in the branch RVO group.CONCLUSION:Rat RVO created by photochemicallyinduced ischemia using erythrosin B is a reproducible and reliable animal model for mimicking the key features of human RVO.However,considering the 100%rate ofretinal detachment,this animal model is more suitable for studying RVO with chronic retinal detachment.Wei Chen Ying Wu Mi Zheng Qing Gu Zhi Zheng Xin Xia 2014International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2014,7,2:7
10Acellular ostrich corneal stroma used as scaffold for construction of tissue-engineered cornea显示文摘AIM:To assess acellular ostrich corneal matrix used as a scaffold to reconstruct a damaged cornea.· METHODS:A hypertonic saline solution combined with a digestion method was used to decellularize the ostrich cornea.The microstructure of the acellular corneal matrix was observed by transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and hematoxylin and eosin(H&E) staining.The mechanical properties were detected by a rheometer and a tension machine.The acellular corneal matrix was also transplanted into a rabbit cornea and cytokeratin 3 was used to check the immune phenotype.·RESULTS:The microstructure and mechanical properties of the ostrich cornea were well preserved after the decellularization process.In vitro,the methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium results revealed that extracts of the acellular ostrich corneas(AOCs) had no inhibitory effects on the proliferation of the corneal epithelial or endothelial cells or on the keratocytes.The rabbit lamellar keratoplasty showed that the transplanted AOCs were transparent and completely incorporated into the host cornea while corneal turbidity and graft dissolution occurred in the acellular porcine cornea(APC) transplantation.The phenotype of the reconstructed cornea was similar to a normal rabbit cornea with a high expression of cytokeratin 3 in the superficial epithelial cell layer.· CONCLUSION:We first used AOCs as scaffolds to reconstruct damaged corneas.Compared with porcine corneas,the anatomical structures of ostrich corneas are closer to those of human corneas.In accordance with the principle that structure determines function,a xenograft lamellar keratoplasty also confirmed that the AOC transplantation generated a superior outcome compared to that of the APC graft.Xian-Ning Liu Xiu-Ping Zhu Jie Wu Zheng-Jie Wu Yong Yin Xiang-HuaXiao Xin Su Bin Kong Shi-Yin Pan Hua Yang Yan Cheng Na An Sheng-Li Mi 2016International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2016,9,3:6

13High-throughput sequencing exclusively identified a novel Torque teno virus genotype in serum of a patient with fatal fever显示文摘Torque teno virus(TTV) has been found to be prevalent world-wide in healthy populations and in patients with various diseases, but its etiological role has not yet been determined. Using high-throughput unbiased sequencing to screen for viruses in the serum of a patient with persistent high fever who died of suspected viral infection and prolonged weakness, we identified the complete genome sequence of a TTV(isolate Hebei-1). The genome of TTV-Hebei-1 is 3649 bp in length, encoding four putative open reading frames, and it has a G+C content of 49%. Genomic comparison and a BLASTN search revealed that the assembled genome of TTV-Hebei-1 represented a novel isolate, with a genome sequence that was highly heterologous to the sequences of other reported TTV strains. A phylogenetic tree constructed using the complete genome sequence showed that TTV-Hebei-1 and an uncharacterized Taiwan Residents strain, TW53A37, constitute a new TTV genotype. The patient was strongly suspected of carrying a viral infection and died eventually without any other possible causes being apparent. No virus other than the novel TTV was identified in his serum sample. 14Toward a high resolution 2-DE profile of the normal human liver proteome using ultra-zoom gels显示文摘The human liver is the largest organ in the body and has many important physiological functions. A global analysis of human liver proteins is essential for a better understanding of the molecular basis of the normal functions of the liver and of its diseases. As part of the Human Liver Proteome Project (HLPP), the goal of the present study was to visualize and detect as many proteins as possible in normal human livers using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE). We have constructed a reference map of the proteins of human normal liver that can be used for the comprehensive analysis of the human liver proteome and other related research. To improve the resolution and enhance the detection of low abundance proteins, we developed and optimized narrow pH range ultra-zoom 2-DE gels. High resolution patterns of human liver in pH gradients 4.5-5.5, 5-6, 5.5-6.7, 6-9 and 6-11 are presented. To improve the poor resolution in the alkaline pH range of 2-DE gels, we optimized the isoelectric focusing protocol by including sample application using cup loading at the anode and incorporating 1.2% hydroxyethyl disulfide, 15% 2-propanol and 5% glycerol in the rehydration buffer. Using the optimized protocol, we obtained reproducibly better resolution in both analytical and preparative 2-DE gels. Compared with the 2386 and 1878 protein spots resolved in the wide range 3-10 and 4-7 pH gradients respectively, we obtained 5481 protein spots from the multiple (overlapping) narrow pH range ultra-zoom gels in the range of pH 4.5-9. 18Gender-specific Association of Sleep Duration with Body Mass Index,Waist Circumference,and Body Fat in Chinese Adults显示文摘Objective To examine the association between habitual sleep duration and obesity among Chinese adults. Methods The association of sleep duration and obesity was investigated among 7,094 community-dwelling Chinese adults. Sleep duration was self-reported. In this study, obesity was defined as follows: body mass index(BMI) ≥ 28 kg/m^2, waist circumference(WC) ≥ 85 cm in men and ≥ 80 cm in women, and percent body fat(%BF) ≥ 25 in men and ≥ 35 in women. Logistic and quantile regressions were employed to examine relationships of interest. Results Overall, 6.42% of the participants reported short sleep durations(< 6 h/d) while 14.71% reported long(≥ 9 h/d) sleep durations. Long sleepers(≥ 9 h/d) represented a greater frequency of women with obesity [odds ratio(OR): 1.30; 95% confidence interval(CI), 1.02-1.67] and high body fat(1.43, 1.04-1.96) than those who slept 7-8 h/d. An association between long sleep times and higher BMI estimations was found across the 10^(th)-75^(th) percentile of the BMI distribution. Among men, long sleepers(≥ 9 h/d) presented lower risks of developing abdominal obesity compared with individuals who slept 7-8 h/d(OR = 0.79, 95% CI: 0.44-0.99). Conclusion Our study suggests that long sleep durations are associated with general obesity in Chinese women but reduced waist circumferences in men. 19Multi-Scenario Millimeter Wave Wireless Channel Measurements and Sparsity Analysis显示文摘Wireless channel characteristics have significant impacts on channel modeling,estimation,and communication performance.While the channel sparsity is an important characteristic of wireless channels.Utilizing the sparse nature of wireless channels can reduce the complexity of channel modeling and estimation,and improve system design and performance analysis.Compared with the traditional sub6 GHz channel,millimeter wave(mmWave)channel has been considered to be more sparse in existing researches.However,most research only assume that the mmWave channel is sparse,without providing quantitative analysis and evaluation.Therefore,this paper evaluates the sparsity of mmWave channels based on mmWave channel measurements.A vector network analyzer(VNA)-based mmWave channel sounder is developed to measure the channel at 28 GHz,and multi-scenario channel measurements are conducted.The Gini index,Rician��factor and rootmean-square(RMS)delay spread are used to measure channel sparsity.Then,the key factors affecting mmWave channel sparsity are explored.It is found that antenna steering direction and scattering environment will affect the sparsity of mmWave channel.In addition,the impact of channel sparsity on channel eigenvalue and capacity is evaluated and analyzed.Hang Mi Bo Ai Ruisi He Xin Zhou Zhangfeng Ma Mi Yang Zhangdui Zhong Ning Wang 2022China Communications2022,19,11:2
