2Genome-wide analysis of BES1 genes in Gossypium revealed their evolutionary conserved roles in brassinosteroid signaling显示文摘Brassinosteroids(BRs), which are essential phytohormones for plant growth and development, are important for cotton fiber development. Additionally, BES1 transcription factors are critical for BR signal transduction. However, cotton BES1 family genes have not been comprehensively characterized. In this study, we identified 11 BES1 genes in G. arboreum, 11 in G.raimondii, 16 in G. barbadense, and 22 in G. hirsutum. The BES1 sequences were significantly conserved in the Arabidopsis thaliana, rice, and upland cotton genomes. A total of 94 BES1 genes from 10 different plant species were divided into three clades according to the neighbor-joining and minimum-evolution methods. Moreover, the exon/intron patterns and motif distributions were highly conserved among the A. thaliana and cotton BES1 genes. The collinearity among the orthologs from the At and Dt subgenomes was estimated. Segmental duplications in the At and Dt subgenomes were primarily responsible for the expansion of the cotton BES1 gene family. Of the GhBES1 genes, GhBES1.4_At/Dt exhibited BL-induced expression and was predominantly expressed in fibers. Furthermore, Col-0/mGhBES1.4_At plants produced curled leaves with long and bent petioles. These transgenic plants also exhibited decreased hypocotyl sensitivity to brassinazole and constitutive BR induced/repressed gene expression patterns. 4Hepatocellular carcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma incidence between 2006 and 2015 in China: estimates based on data from 188 population-based cancer registries显示文摘Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC)are the most common subtypes of primary liver cancer,but nationwide incidence of both liver cancer subtypes have never been reported in China.We aimed to estimate the most recent incidence of HCC and ICC and temporal trends in China based on the most updated data from high qualified population-based cancer registries(covering 13.1%of the national population),in comparison to those in the United States at the same period.Methods:We used data from 188 Chinese population-based cancer registries covering 180.6 million population of China to estimate the nationwide incidence of HCC and ICC in 2015.And 22 population-based cancer registries’data were used to estimate the trends of HCC and ICC incidence from 2006 to 2015.Multiple imputation by chained equations method was used to impute liver cancer cases with unknown subtype(50.8%).We used data from 18 population-based registries from the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results program to analyze incidence of HCC and ICC in the United States.Results:In China,an estimated 301,500 and 61,900 newly diagnosed HCC and ICC occurred in 2015.The overall age-standardized rates(ASRs)of HCC incidence decreased by 3.9%per year.For ICC incidence,the overall ASR was relatively stable,but increased in the population of over 65 years old.Subgroup analysis by age showed that the ASR of HCC incidence had the sharpest decline in population who were less than 14 years old and received neonatally hepatitis B virus(HBV)vaccination.In the United States,though the incidence of HCC and ICC were lower than those in China,the overall HCC and ICC incidence increased by 3.3%and 9.2%per year.Conclusions:China still faces with a heavy burden of liver cancer incidence.Our results may further support the beneficial effect of Hepatitis B vaccination on reduction of HCC incidence.Both healthy lifestyle promotion and infection control are needed for future liver cancer control and prevention for China and the United States.Lan An Rongshou Zheng Siwei Zhang Ru Chen Shaoming Wang Kexin Sun Lingeng Lu Xuehong Zhang Hong Zhao Hongmei Zeng Wenqiang Wei Jie He 2023Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2023,12,1:4
5Study on Laminar Natural Convection Heat Transfer from a Hemisphere with Uniform Heat Flux Surface显示文摘By employing the modified model based on Bejan et al., laminar natural convection heat transfer from a hemisphere with uniform heat flux surface has been numerically investigated. Extensive results of two different surface boundary conditions are obtained for a wide range of Grashof numbers(10 ≤ Gr ≤ 10~7) and Prandlt number of 0.72. The characteristics of heat transfer and fluid flow are analyzed in terms of isotherm contours and streamline patterns, radial and tangential velocities, dimensionless temperature profiles, local friction and pressure drag coefficients, as well as local and average Nusselt numbers. Meanwhile, the effects of Grashof number and adiabatic surface on flow motion and heat transfer have been studied. No recirculation zone or flow separation generates over the top of the hemisphere compared to the isothermal sphere. Owing to the curvature effect, the maximum values of local friction and pressure drag coefficients appear at the corner point B. Comparisons with the previous results are also reported in detail. All the results are in good agreement with the numerical data. Moreover, both local and average Nusselt numbers show a positive dependence on Grashof number. The values of the non-adiabatic case are smaller than that of the adiabatic case due to the preheating effect. 6Hymecromone:a clinical prescription hyaluronan inhibitor for efficiently blocking COVID-19 progression显示文摘Currently,there is no effective drugs for treating clinically COVID-19 except dexamethasone.We previously revealed that human identical sequences of SARS-CoV-2 promote the COVID-19 progression by upregulating hyaluronic acid(HA).As the inhibitor of HA synthesis,hymecromone is an approved prescription drug used for treating biliary spasm.Here,we aimed to investigate the relation between HA and COVID-19,and evaluate the therapeutic effects of hymecromone on COVID-19.Firstly,HA was closely relevant to clinical parameters,including lymphocytes(n=158;r=−0.50;P<0.0001),C-reactive protein(n=156;r=0.55;P<0.0001),D-dimer(n=154;r=0.38;P<0.0001),and fibrinogen(n=152;r=0.37;P<0.0001),as well as the mass(n=78;r=0.43;P<0.0001)and volume(n=78;r=0.41;P=0.0002)of ground-glass opacity,the mass(n=78;r=0.48;P<0.0001)and volume(n=78;r=0.47;P<0.0001)of consolidation in patient with low level of hyaluronan(HA<48.43 ng/mL).Furthermore,hyaluronan could directly cause mouse pulmonary lesions.Besides,hymecromone remarkably reduced HA via downregulating HAS2/HAS3 expression.Moreover,89%patients with hymecromone treatment had pulmonary lesion absorption while only 42%patients in control group had pulmonary lesion absorption(P<0.0001).In addition,lymphocytes recovered more quickly in hymecromone-treated patients(n=8)than control group(n=5)(P<0.05).These findings suggest that hymecromone is a promising drug for COVID-19 and deserves our further efforts to determine its effect in a larger cohort.Shuai Yang Yun Ling Fang Zhao Wei Li Zhigang Song Lu Wang Qiuting Li Mengxing Liu Ying Tong Lu Chen Daoping Ru Tongsheng Zhang Kaicheng Zhou Baolong Zhang Peng Xu Zhicong Yang Wenxuan Li Yuanlin Song Jianqing Xu Tongyu Zhu Fei Shan Wenqiang Yu Hongzhou Lu 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4:2
7Preliminary study of non-isothermal phase change phenomena in vertical Bridgman crystal growth显示文摘Axisymmetric dual reciprocity boundary element method (DRBEM) with augmented items is extended to simulate the heat and mass transfer problems in the vertical Bridgman method (VBM) crystal growth of HgCdTe and CdZnTe. Axial solute concentration redistribution of three regions numerically reap-pears, and the influence of the pulling rate of the ampoule on it is further studied. Secondly, one di-mensional transient phase change phenomena is studied, and non-isothermal phase change phe-nomena is obtained from the initial transient region through the steady growth region to the final tran-sient region. Thirdly, the two-dimensional axisymmetric phase change interface position, interfacial shape and the temperature field of the melt and the crystal are numerically captured under the condi-tion to arrive at the steady state with zero pulling rate of the ampoule. Finally, the study of transient axisymmetric non-isothermal phase change phenomena is stressed and the results are compared with those in isothermal phase change. 9Cobalt phosphide nanoparticles supported within network of N-doped carbon nanotubes as a multifunctional and scalable electrocatalyst for water splitting显示文摘In order to realize industrial production of hydrogen through water splitting,it is essential to develop a cost-efficient and scalable approach to synthesize nonprecious electrocatalysts with sufficiently high activity and stability to replace commercial noble-metal-based electrocatalysts.Herein we synthesize cobalt phosphide nanoparticles dispersed within nitrogen-doped carbon nanotube network(CP@NCNT) via scalable spray drying and thermal treatments.As a multifunctional electrocatalyst,the CP@NCNT hybrid delivers outstanding activity for HER(in both acidic and alkaline electrolytes),OER and overall water splitting.Remarkably,it shows an ultra-low overpotental of 94 mV to obtain 10 mA cm-2 in HER.It also demonstrates outstanding activity in overall water splitting,requiring only 1.619 V to deliver 10 mA cm-2with more than 72 h’ long-term stability.The combination of notable performance,multi-functionality and highly scalable spray-drying synthesis method enables this material as a novel and cost-efficient transition metal-based electrocatalysts for overall water splitting.Dongxu Yang Wenqiang Hou Yingjiong Lu Wanli Zhang Yuanfu Chen 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,1:2

14Sustainable silicon anodes facilitated via a double-layer interface engineering: Inner SiOx combined with outer nitrogen and boron co-doped carbon显示文摘Silicon-based(Si)materials are promising anodes for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)because of their ultrahigh theoretical capacity of 4200 mA h g^(−1).However,commercial applications of Si anodes have been hindered by their drastic volume variation(∼300%)and low electrical conductivity.Here,to tackle the drawbacks,a hierarchical Si anode with double-layer coatings of a SiOx inner layer and a nitrogen(N),boron(B)co-doped carbon(C-NB)outer layer is elaborately designed by copyrolysis of Si-OH structures and a H3BO_(3)-doped polyaniline polymer on the Si surface.Compared with the pristine Si anodes(7mA h g^(−1) at 0.5 A g^(−1) after 340 cycles and 340 mA h g^(−1) at 5 A g^(−1)),the modified Si-based materials(Si@SiOx@C-NB nanospheres)present su perior cycling stability(reversible 1301 mA h g^(−1) at 0.5 A g^(−1) after 340 cycles)as well as excellent rate capability(690mA h g^(−1) at 5 A g^(−1))when used as anodes in LIBs.The unique double-layer coating structure,in which the inner amorphous SiOx layer acts as a buffer matrix and the outer defect-rich carbon enhances the electron diffusion of the whole anode,makes it possible to de liver excellent electrochemical properties.These results indicate that our double-layer coating strategy is a promising approach not only for the devel opment of sustainable Si anodes but also for the design of multielement-doped carbon nanomaterials.Jun Zhou Yao Lu Lishan Yang Wenqiang Zhu Weifang Liu Yahui Yang Kaiyu Liu 2022Carbon Energy2022,4,3:1

20Transcriptome and weighted gene co-expression network analysis of jujube(Ziziphus jujuba Mill.)fruit reveal putative genes involved in proanthocyanin biosynthesis and regulation显示文摘Proanthocyanidin(PA)is an important bioactive compound with multiple physiological benefits in jujube(Ziziphus jujube Mill.).However,the molecular mechanisms underlying PA biosynthesis in jujube fruit have not been investigated.Here,the profiling of PA,(+)-catechin and(–)-epicatechin and transcriptome sequencing of three jujube cultivars from Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China at five developmental stages were analyzed.The levels of total PAs and catechin exhibited a decreased trend over jujube ripening,and epicatechin content of two jujube cultivars increased first and then declined.Transcriptome analysis revealed that the differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were mainly enriched in ribosome,glycolysis/gluconeogenesis,fructose and mannose metabolism.17 DEGs encoding PAL,CHS,CHI,CHS,F3'H,LAR,ANR,C4Hs,4CLs,FLSs,DFRs and UFGTs involved in PA biosynthesis were relatively abundant.The highly transcribed LAR gene may greatly contribute to epicatechin accumulation.A weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCNA)was performed,and a network module including 1620 genes highly correlated with content of Pas and catechin was established.We identified 58 genes including 9 structural genes and 49 regulatory genes related to PA biosynthesis and regulation in the WGCNA module.Sixteen genes encoding 9 families of transcriptional factors(i.e.,MYB,bHLH,ERF,bZIP,NAC,SBP,MIKC,HB,WRKY)were considered as hub genes.The results of qRT-PCR analysis validating 10 genes were well consistent with the transcriptome data.These findings provide valuable knowledge to facilitate its genetic studies and molecular breeding.Wenqiang Wang Yunfeng Pu Hao Wen Dengyang Lu Min Yan Minzhe Liu Minyu Wu Hongjin Bai Lirong Shen Cuiyun Wu 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,5:1
